Chrissy~I know this is hard for you.  I recently kicked my ex out for pretty much the same exact reasons.  He never admitted to cheating but I had a gut feeling and as far as I'm concerned instincts are usually right.  I was always making excuses for him as you were.  Funny thing is when I read your story I think..."What in the hell is this beautiful young woman thinking...she deserves so much better!" I never thought that about myself.  I was too busy making excuses for him and wanting to believe them.  Also the line about him not working, not having his own place, etc, etc. Those are big red flags there!  My ex had all that going on to when we moved in together.  I don't know why I didn't realize that he was using me then.  I wanted to believe that he loved me like I loved him.  Truth is, he didn't, if he did, he would have noticed I was depressed, he would have wanted to help me out, he would have treated me with respect.  Finally, I woke up, I realized that as much as it hurt I had to break it off.  I had to get rid of him because he was like an anchor dragging me down and I deserved better.  So it has only been about 2 months and it hurts like crazy to be without him but despite that I can truly say that I am happy.  I am happy because I am finally doing what is best for me.   I'm not worried about finding someone else....only truly want to find MYSELF!

Pregnancy & Parenting Nursing in public- your opinion Nov 17 2009

I think as long as you are being modest and using a cover-up there is nothing wrong with it.  You are feeding your child.  No one seems to mind if you whip out a bottle of formula for the baby!

Some people just don't get it.  Obviously people who have not breastfed or had children don't really understand.  The woman in the lounge for instance, sounds like she was just ignorant and rude, you were in a lounge being discreet feeding your child.  It is the most natural thing and I don't know why people freak out about it.  My in-laws were also weird about it because they all used formula with their kids.  I would go in another room only because it was more comfortable for me.

When I was nursing my son I would nurse him in public if he was hungry.  I would be discreet about it.  I do find it a bit offensive with a mother is nursing and just pops it out for everyone to see and doesn't bother covering up.

Hmmm, good thing this person doesn't have access to my journals because I have personal rants all the time.  Sometimes you just need to let it out!  Feels good!  I'm sure you do love your friend.  Everyone has their quirks!

LOL, I'm sure we all have friends that drive us crazy from time to time.  I don't think that means you have interpersonal relationship problems!  If so then I guess I have them too!

I have a friend that I really enjoy for the most part but she is very demanding/controlling and if I don't drop everything when she wants me too she ALWAYS sends me an e-mail that is supposedly her helpful advice (even when I don't ask for it) but it comes across more like a put down.  I guess she doesn't realize that I know what she is doing.  The last time she actually tried to tell me that I needed to get antidepressants and therapy and she was putting me on "friend watch" because I had gone through a break up and was a little upset about it.  I responded and she didn't talk to me for a week.  Really good at the "friend watch", LOL.

I have another friend that no matter what has a bigger or better or worse story than yours!

I love them anyways but I understand that they can at times be irritating!  I just have to laugh at them sometimes.  Despite the annoying things they do they also are very supportive and I'm glad that I have them.

Weight Loss Need to motivate with someone comparable to me. 5'6" and 149lbs Nov 10 2009

I am also 5'6 with a goal weight of 130.  I don't think that 130 is too skinny.  I don't know that I'll actually make it there either.  I'm pretty sure I would be happy at 135 too.  I'm currently at 137-138 (depending on the day), started at 145ish (I think).  I also used to be super skinny in HS then got in a long term relationship and let the comfort weight pile on...urgh....got motivated lost it all by eating healthy and working out and then got pregnant and gained it all back, LOL, now I'm pretty much back to prepregnancy but would still like to get back to 130 if possible.  This website is great.  Logging everything you eat really shows what you are doing to your body and I mean everything, even if it is just a slice of cheese or bite of something!  I started at 3600 calories a day, way over what I should have been consuming.  I'm now down to between 1670 and 2200 a day.  2200 is still high but much better than where I started!  There is a lot of support here to which is great!  I've made a lot of online friends through journal posts.

This was an interesting article.  I really don't think we should compare ourselves to celebrities either but obviously normal everyday people do the same things (just not in the limelight).  I found the part about it vanishing as an ideal to be sad.  I would like to think that monogamy is possible.  It just takes a lot of work that maybe some people are not willing to put into a relationship.  I personally just don't like to share so I couldn't handle the other types of relationships but I'm not really judging people that choose that lifestyle if it works for them.  I would think it would be even more complicated with more people involved!

I am glad that you posted this.  I only have two wisdom teeth on the top that haven't even broke through yet.  My dentist keeps telling me to go to the oral surgeon and have them removed.  They don't bother me so I keep putting it off.  I am also terrified of surgery.  I have never been put under before and I hate the thought of it.  Reading other posts though makes me think that it won't be so bad and I should probably go ahead and make an appt. myself!

I do have this problem too, it seems so wasteful to just throw away food, so I try to eat it all.  I have no idea why I'm like that!  I'm glad I read this though, lots of the other posters here have some great points!  I've been working on this already anyways but it does drive me crazy to just throw it away!!!!

Of course they are, they are constantly in the spot light.  It is the profession that they chose though.  Do I think Jennifer Love Hewitt is "fat" in that picture...hell no...I think she is normal.  Celebrities are paid to look a certain way and they can afford trainers and special eating and private chefs, etc. etc. etc. It is sad that magazines/media/etc. look at that picture and consider her fat but that is just how the industry works.  In my opinion a lot of celebrities are too skinny!  If you look like Jennifer Love Hewitt then you are in no way fat!

Pregnancy & Parenting Early signs of Pregnancy Aug 26 2009

Hmmm, well those were the first signs I had that I was pregnant.  Along with extreme irritability and tender/sore breasts.  But it could also be a result of stress and freaking yourself out.  I freak myself out just about every month, even though I'm on the pill, I always think "what if" or why does this feel like that, etc. etc.  So I agree, you should probably make an appt. with the dr. and get checked out....

Pregnancy & Parenting Extended Breastfeeding Aug 22 2009

Well I think each person is different but from every nurse/lactation consultant that I have spoke to the answer would be yes.  It is basically supply and demand.  The more you pump and breastfeed the more you will produce.  That is why I pumped like crazy and it did seem to help.  Obviously a healthy diet helps too and you already said that you were eating plenty so you should be just fine!

Pregnancy & Parenting Extended Breastfeeding Aug 21 2009

I breastfed my son for a year.  I went back to work after 6 weeks b/c I had to and I pumped religiously all day and even at home in between his feedings.  I was having problems producing enough milk and my son was quite stubborn and refused formula, he would rather starve.  So I tried the tea it seemed to help a bit, so that would be my suggestion.  Also try not to stress about it the more stressed out I got the more my milk supply diminished.

He was also a biter and it was like the other posters on here say, he was full and just comfort feeding...I would just stop feeding him if he did this and he eventually stopped.  It is very painful if they bite though!  Also my reaction, jumping, yelling ouch, startled him so that probably had something to do with him quiting biting.

Uncomfortable with the relatives:  I had this very problem, I knew prior to giving birth that I only wanted to breastfeed.  My child's grandmother on my ex's side was always trying to push formula on me.  All this did was piss me off, I would just give it back to her and tell her for the millionth time I wanted to do what I felt was best for my child and I breastfed at her house many a time and didn't let it get to me.  Just be confident and know you are doing it for your child and it is completely natural and normal!

LOL, I thought I was the only woman who seemed to enjoy sex more than my boyfriend.  You are so not alone!  I also have a good man in my life but he just doesn't seem to be as interested in it as I am and he is younger than me!

I know it can make you feel unloved and rejected because I felt the same way.  Fortunately though we were able to talk about it and now I feel much better.  It had nothing to do with rejection, he actually just thought that was all I wanted from the relationship (which it wasn't) and wanted it to be more spontaneous.  So we have worked it out Wink

LOL, it is nice to see that I'm not the only crazy binger in love with food!  At least you did acknowledge it and make a post about it, I didn't even have the courage to log all the crap I ate this weekend, I'm sure it would hav by-passed your 6000 calories though!

Anyways STOP fantasizing about the food and FINISH your homework.  That will also make you feel better!  It really couldn't have been that great if you were in pain from it!

I think this saying applies here....Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start over again! I think it has become more of a motto for me though.  I have very little self control and seem to do this every weekendUndecided

Yes...Apple Pies at McDonalds are orgasmic!  They are my favorite dessert of any fast food chain.  I also worked there for 2 years and that was the one thing that I never got tired of!  They also have pumpkin pies around Thanksgiving and sometimes seasonally cherry pies, all very good!  Part of my problem is my sweet tooth!  I've been avoiding the apple pies lately thoughFrown

Also FYI to cptbunny the Hershey pies are at Burger King and are very yummy as well....geesh...I know way to much about fast food...guess that is why I'm here!

I honestly do not know much about bulimia, it has not been an issue for me or any of my close friends that I know of, so I really don't know how to help you with that.

I just wanted to say that you are a very beautiful girl and I think this website can be very beneficial to you.  cassrd05 is right being a little heavier is better than dead, you are only 20 years old, you have your whole life ahead of you.  Losing weight in a healthy way may take more time but it will be better and you will feel better.  There are lots of tools here as well as lots of support, please use it to your advantage and best of luck!

First of all...way to go...you look amazing and lost a ton of weight already, I don't think that losing 4 more lbs. is really necessary but if it makes you feel better and you do it the healthy way then go for it.  Also I agree with Sondre, you look great in all the pics, I really couldn't tell a difference in 5-10 lbs.  So I think you should go with the weight that you feel the most comfortable, confident, healthy and happy with Smile

Also in regards to the big head, I don't think you should worry about that, you are very pretty and that isn't something you can control!  My step-sister also has a big round head and she recently lost about 20 lbs. and still has that same head....she gets it from her dad!  However I still think she is beautiful regardless of the shape/size of her head!

Hi Eliza,

Looks like we have similar goals and obstacles....sweets are my major weakness/downfall....so I've been trying to eat more fruits rather than crap.  I'm also very good at loosing weight and then putting it back on.  So far this website has been awesome, I've only been doing it for 3-4 weeks now but I love it Smile  Anyways hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I understand how you feel....I am not photogenic at all and so I'm self conscious of most pictures that people take.  That's why I love digital cameras...you can delete and retake so easily.  Anyways you are beautiful the way you are.  I have a myspace and facebook account as well so that I can keep in contact with friends I don't see very often etc. etc. but I have become to hate those sites as well because I feel like it is a contest as to who has the most beautiful, sexy pictures, which is very shallow.  I set both my profiles to private also for this reason.  I am so glad that I have found this site though because it is actually a productive site with supportive people, not just here to check you out....but here to make their lives better and help others.  Don't worry about what other people think.  I know it is easier said than done, I always worry too but as someone else here said beauty is inside out.  I've met a lot of very physically beautiful people that were so terrible inside that they no longer appear pretty.....so let your true beauty shine through ;)

Weight Loss Revenge Weight Loss? Jun 09 2009
20:42 (UTC)

This is funny, glad to see I'm not the only one here who has crazy thoughts!  My main reason that I am doing this is for health.  I have a 2 year old son and want to be a good example to him.  However, I used to be extremely skinny in high school, then my metabolism caught up and the weight piled on.  I was in a bad relationship that lasted way to long and was an emotional eater.  My ex always made me feel fat and the more nasty comments he made the worse I felt and less I cared about trying.  Then I broke FREE :)  So that is one person I would like to show off to.  Also recently my step sister and her husband both lost 20-25 lbs. each.  They weren't fat before but it was still an amazing difference in both of them, I don't really want to rub it in their faces or anything, I just know that if they can do it then I can too.....also I used to be skinnier than my step-sister....so that was a bit depressing for me.

Also I had a friend in HS that was always trying to one up me....then we had a falling out and I hadn't seen her in years...I wanted to look way better than her if I ever saw her again....well that happened last weekend but it made me realize how shallow I was being.  She was still skinnier than me, but all due to drugs and she looked horrible.  I ended up just feeling sorry for her in the long run because I am doing this the correct way and to try to be healthy and she obviously needs help.
