Original Post by milehighwalker: :) I 100% agree! Unfortunately a lot of veg*ns have a 'holier than thou' attitude instead of supporting others that are against the meat industry as well. |

I think you mean 'low-carb'. I've never seen Atkins or those other diets promote cutting out every single carb. |

OP, I think it's great that you're doing what you can to not support the meat industry. If the most you can do is cut out all meat except fish, then yay for you! Don't feel bad about mis-labeling yourself, after all, that's just a label society has put on something. I think vegitarianism (like many other things) is a very personal quest. It's sad to see that there are so many snarky people out there who are forgetting that you're doing what you CAN and feel comfortable with!

My favourite new dessert is to take fresh strawberries and crush/chop them, then sprinkle about 1/2 a packet of splenda on them and let them macerate. Then I put it on top of some of my favourite vanilla frozen yogurt. :) |

1. broccoli --steamed only. broccoli is one of the only things I like PLAIN. 2. zucchini --Grilled or sauteed in some olive oil. 3. cauliflower --Steamed plain, or steamed them sauteed in some spices. 4. green beans --Southern style (boiled with bacon and onions) or sauteed in onions and garlic. 5. sugar snap peas --I'm not really a fan of these, but I'll eat them in a stir fry. 6. baby carrots --Well, I like them just steamed, but I mostly eat them raw dipped in salad dressing. 7. artichokes --Spinach and artichoke dip! 8. tortellini pasta --Hmmm. In a creamy alfredo sauce! 9. penne --It's really my favourite pasta. I'll eat it with any sauce. 10. ravioli --Hmm. Butternut squash ravioli in a light olive oil sauce! Plain, cold, and dipped in cocktail sauce. Otherwise, I'll eat just about ANYTHING if it has these little peices of heaven in it. 14. rice --Hm. Spanish rice! 15. tortillas --I prefer corn (and not the crunchy taco shaped ones either). Wrapped for enchiladas, or fried and stuffed with delicious taco filling. 16. pitas --I put anything in these! Eggs, chicken, turkey, taco filling, ANYTHING. I found these delicious ones that are made with flax and oats. 17. spinach --I'm not really a fan, unless it's something like spinach and artichoke dip. 18. tuna --On top of a big, green salad. 19. salad greens --Salad? B - Cheerios Oat Cluster Crunch. I ate this dry, because I've heard it takes you longer to eat it, therefore you feel fuller. It worked! I'm eating all my cereal dry from now on! L - Honey smoked turkey breast with reduced fat pepperjack and honey mustard on multigrain whole wheat bread. Side salad with greens, cherry tomatoes, baby carrots, and thinly sliced cucumber. S - Cantaloupe D - Same as lunch. We were in the backyard swimming all evening, and decided to do a little picnic. S - I had plenty of calories left over, so I had a full cup of vanilla frozen yogurt (full fat) with crushed strawberries. (It's so yummy, btw, you should try it). OH, and earlier I had part of a 100 calorie hostess pack. |

Yogurt and cottage cheese. It seems like every dieter/healthy eater on the planet eats this stuff, and I just hate it. Coffee, horseradish, sour cream, any sweet salad dressing, and lemons/limes. |

dizzysmile, I'm sorry people were so rude to you earlier. Sometimes people don't realize that low cal foods like veggies are actually really bulky and fill you up fast. It's unfortunate that some people call other people liars instead of offering support and help. I have the same problem reaching my minimum. I tend to eat large salads for lunch, which really doesn't add up to much, unfortunately. I use nuts, peanut butter, low fat frozen yogurt, avacado, olive oil, reduced fat crackers, bananas, etc to get my calories up. You could also try drinking milk or some other healthy but calorie laden beverage to get your calories up without making you full. Good luck, you can PM me if you have anymore questions. :) |

B - Took my dad out for breakfast, and I had a garden veggie scrambled with harvest oat/grain blueberry pancakes. S - Vanilla frozen yogurt. L - I skipped it because I was soooooo stuffed from breakfast/snack. D - Turkey burger with mustard, lettuce, tomato, red onion, red pepper, and reduced fat cheddar on a whole wheat bun (YUM. Slightly chewy.) Then on the side I had pasta salad (whole wheat rotini, tomatoes, grilled zucchini and squash, cucumber, red onion, bell pepper, and black olives) a few baked potato chips and a pickle spear. S - Later on I'm having more vanilla frozen yogurt topped with chopped strawberries. Maintence day! :) |

Cheerios Oat Cluster Crunch and Special K Red Berries are my favourite low-cal cereal. Fruity Pebbles, Honey Bunches of Oats, Froot Loops, Lucky Charms, Frosted Flakes, Frosted Mini Wheats, I love almost every junk cereal out there. I'm not even much of a cereal person, but I do think they all taste yummy. I had a huge breakfast, and this thread has inspired me to just have some cereal for lunch! Yum! |

Coffee, definitely. I think it tastes disgusting, but it smells wonderful. Same with chai tea, I think it smells like christmas, but it tastes like an over-spiced gingerbread cookie. Soup rarely tastes as yummy as it smells. |

| Weight Loss | Got called "fat"... feeling insecure | Jun 21 2009 15:11 (UTC) |

Wow, you look great! Curvy, womanly, etc. Not a toothpick, but who wants to be like that? Nobody! Don't let her comment bother you. By all means keep working out if it makes you feel great, and exercise is never bad thing! She's just jealous that you have a loving boyfriend, and she doesn't. :) (It is interesting, like other posters said, that you can call ANY woman 'fat', and she'll obsess over it. Doesn't matter if they're 100 pounds or 400 pounds, they always take it like it's the truth.) |

Hot fudge sundaes. Chocolate cake donuts with glaze. Homemade tacos. French fries. Plain Lay's Tortilla chips from the mexican restaurant. BROWNIES! Like the poster above me described! Warm from the oven, slightly chewy on the sides, gooey in the middle. Topped with full fat vanilla ice cream from my favourite ice cream shop. Ohhhh my. ♥ Warm, right out of the oven, chocolate chip COOKIES. Like the brownies. Slighty crispy and chewy on the outside, warm and gooey in the middle. Letting the chocolate chips slowly melt in your mouth. I haven't craved these things TOO much yet, but when I really do crave them, I'll probably indulge in a little. I'm waiting for my perfect time to 'cheat' though, lol. |
