Hey, just wanted to add that you gain and lose 5 pounds a day... so 3 pounds is nothing. Make sure you weigh yourself at the same time of day.. prefferably after you go to the bathroom. XD

Are you saying that you gain when you eat over 1,200 calories because you've weighed yourself or because CC says so? I mean, of course you're gonna gain cause you've just eaten. Everybody gains when they've eaten because food has weight too. If you're still scared of gaining, you can always exercise. I hear that it burns calories.

Perhaps it is the unrealistic standards that modern society sets for us which we tend to believe and strive to achieve....

Once people get past the "airbrushed standards" and realize that they are humans... each beautiful in his or her own way... only then can they view themselves in a realistic, true mindset... :)

of course, it's easier said than done... i have a low self esteem as well...

:) i have a small problem though

I'm vacationing and this whole week has been such a bust

I ate popsicles and candy and chips gosh

but I still lost weight because of all the exercise I'm getting:) swimming and boogie boarding roller-blading, and walking! It's been fun

any suggestions on how to stay healthy on vacation? cause its really hard

well, i gotta say, fruit binges are better than the chocolate and egg roll binges i go on :) but, i would recommend buying a variety of fruit-- skip cherries and strawberries if it bothers you- and eating those fruit... or make a fruit salad where you eat a variety of different fruit + your faves

vanessa, of course you can join! and that's great that you've lost so much weight already!!! wow. I can't wait to get rid of those ugly bra bumps...and about the bikini... I went shopping yesterday.... yeah, I just couldn't do it. I bought a tankini too... the bikini will have to wait till next year:)

congrats on the baby! I love children, and I'm sure she (or he:) is worth all the effort :)

lisa, I'm a cheese freak too!!!! omg... but when I add it into my daily calories, its worth so much! I'm going to go look for the laughing cow cheese... I heard laughing cow has great low fat, low cal ice cream:) might get some of that too!

justme, my brother bought a wendy's frosty today... I was so tempted to take it away from him... but I didn't.

btw, its been about 5 days since I began dieting.. (I cheated last night :(

today though I feel kind of sick... I can't even look at food, and the smell of food makes me nauseous (except for ice cream) do you guys think I'm doing something wrong? i'm trying to eat moderately, i don't starve myself.idk

dispatchn, hypoglycemia..wow, that must be really tough. I have a friend who's hypoglycemic...for every snack she just eats a bunch of fruits and veggies...or nuts. don't give up!

lisa, that's great! I'm doing the same thing. I'm eating around 1,600 calories, trying to eat less, and I walk and swim and I'm doing core exercises. Also, I do Pilates. If anyone is interested, it's a really great workout and it forces you to breath and relax while building and lengthening the muscle.

I have a thing with cheese... is it ok to eat while dieting or not? is it considered a healthy food?

ahhhh yessss... the beach stories...I have a lot of them.. I have never heard anyone say anything like that, but a facial expression is worth a thousand words...

I just made some really good stir-fry type food:

1 cup brocolli

1/2 zuchinni

1/4 pepper

30 medium-sized shrimp

1/4 tsp. sea salt

spices like pepper or oregano or dill... w/e u want

fry with canola or pam

 

This barely makes 200 cal but its so filling, you can add more veggies and still have enough cal left over for desert!

The elliptical machine works wonders:) Half an hour 3 times a week... and your bum will tighten up overtime.. I know because that's what I did.... my stomachs still flabby, but HEY! at least I have a great butt!

Hi:) I'm glad that you're taking steps toward gaining your health back... I think that the first two days are ok.... but the other two days aren't, especially if you work out... don't let yourself get below 1,000 calories... if you need the extra calories, eat almonds... yum:) good for you and delicious, plus lots of protein

I have to say, I love reading your posts! You have an amazing personality, I can tell:) When I was a kid, I treated my stomach as a different entity. If my mom would ask me "Are you hungry?". I would say, "Let me check." Then I would cup my little stomach (it was little at the time) and I would ask it "Are you hungry?" and put my ear to it and listen:) Actually, now that I think about it, children are more in tune with themselves, they listen to their bodies. Now thanks to you and that other hilarious thread that jewelsmcblah posted, I'm naming my stomach Archibald and treating it as a different person:) lol

Of course you're welcome! Idk. I've been overweight for a long time and I hate bikinis. But this year I will by one (not a tiny one) and I will force myself to wear it, so should you. First of all, it will force you to have confidence in yourself, and it will give you the motivation to work out, so you'll look better in it.

Btw, I have stretch marks too.... they're not bad, really slight around the lower part of my midsection and hips.... anything I can do to get rid of them?

To be honest. I never concern myself with the scale. I'm more focused on size. I would recommend that when you weigh yourself, always do it at the same time of day: in the morning after going to the bathroom and before eating breakfast. I read in a health magazine that our weight fluctuates by 5 pounds DAILY!!!! So don't be discouraged and keep doing what you're doing!

I would recommend dipping strawberries in melted dark chocolate and freezing them. Eat a max of 5. Today when I wanted something sweet I ate a Special K blueberry breakfast bar. It's delicious and only 90 calories. Good luck!
