The entire old city of Istambul (previously known as Byzanthyum and Constantinople before that). The entire place is a history museum yet unlike its European counterparts, they have maintained a less turistic ambiance which makes it feel like time hasnt corroded the place.

Dont know how you call it in english, but the "haya sofia" is quite impressive. Currently a Mosque/museum it stands as a breathtaking monument and testament.

I envy your trip. Have a great time :)

there is no god but god and mohamed is his prophet (as was jesus and moses). Dont question anything else and you will be alright.

Seriously, god doesnt matter. All you need is love; love is all you need. Why believe in anything else seeing as nothing else makes you feel as good as love.

There is one thing though which gives you something to think about if you wish for divinity. That is the beggining of things. In scientific and reasonable terms, everything comes from something else. For example:

This keyboard which im using is plastic (or so I believe). This is made by humans. Now if your not wholy against evolution, then you will reason that humans came from pre human species similar to monkeys. Monekys came to being from other species. Those species came from the sea billions of years ago. Those sea creatures came from a combination of germ like species. Those germs were formed from the heat or whatever erroded on the earths crust. The earth and all was formed from the big bang explosion. The big bang was a large mass formed my millions of smaller ones. those smalled masses were formed by smaller ones in space. those minimal peices of mass were created by pressure in space...... where did space and the first molecule of matter come from? God.

Or so I preffer to call it.

Though I do not believe it was that god which created humans and made them as messed up as we are. So believe in love since there is nothing better.

Quitting is easy. I have done it a million times.

The thing is that if im alone I can manage not to smoke, yet when im in company of people who are smoking or when drinking; its bloody damn impossible. The funny thing is that the only times I have quit smoking was because I was going out with someone who didnt smoke. It seems I care little for my own wellbeing yet when it comes to doing it for someone else its far easier or simply it gives me much more insentive to quit.

buy a one way ticket anywhere (outside the continent) and just travel. Spend a year traveling and look for work outside to finance your daily needs. Anything from something which requires your skills, to simply washing dishes. The point here it to travel, learn, obtain life experiences, and enjoy yourself. You have the rest of your life to work, use whats left of your youth to live.

I pretty much agree with everything purespark said on the issue. Not much to add.

jajaja. no offense intended. Im not sure if the term in itself has any derogative meaning included. Also as flogging mentioned, in more formal terms, they are called Estado Unidense (United Statsien).

I just spelled it phonetically, not how you would write it down.

Hell does not exist. I have examined a series of hypothetical situations and because of it I know there is no painful afterlife. Then taking Maqiavelo's reasoning into perspective, "for every substance there is an exact opposite, in which for example, you cannot have light without darkness; you cannot have good without bad", it is also clear to say that if there is no divine evil, there is certainly no "heaven".

But that is all crap anyways. All you need is love. If your in love then your already in heaven, if your not, then your in a limbo, if youv lost love then you pretty much feel like hell. Love is all you need. Not god.

I could write for hours about Love. But it will be simpler to say,

No matter what you have, had, or will have; no matter what you have achieved; who you are; where you come from; what your dreams are...

... the happiness and satisfaction you get from all of that is almost invisible in comparison to the feeling that is Love.

Just wanted to say something. Or rather add. I do not mean any disrespect or mean to be in any way insensitive. I am amazed and completely saddened by the loss of 3000 people this day at the mercy of a handful of terrorists. All my heart goes to those who have lost someone dear to them.

Anyhow I do agree with Lorik to a certain extent..... before you call me the devil, hear me out. This horrid act happened at the hands of terrorists. The pain and feeling of hate grew. This is understandable seeing as everyone needs an outlet... somewhere to lay the blame (unfortunately the authors of the incident died along with their victims). So now here was the factor of who is to blame.

Osama. No question about it. I have heard all the conspiracy theories revolving this, but without going into them, its one target which we can all see as the mastermind. Everyone agreed on this (not just the US). But one thing leads to another and another and suddenly we have Iraq under attack, Iran on the "to do" list and the rest of the "axis of evil". When one is looking for justice... it is understandable and recommended. But the US crossed a line and went for a whole different objective, not having anything to do with September 11th and from one second to another the US became the terrorists.

One would at least hope that after 8 years and trillions of dollars and lives wasted on this war against terrorism that the world is now a much safer place. Unfortunately I think we have never been in more immediate danger than we are in now.

But alas it is the fault of government and not the people. Even those who would have pushed for it years back when this was fresh upon their minds... well that can be understood.

Peace

Some have said that it poops inside of you if it stays in there for to long and you may end up getting hepatitis. Other sources have even mentioned that it may get you pregnant.. but I find that somewhat to much of a stretch.

Andre..

that is really cool..living with the bedouin women must have been tough..I live in a small town..and people here are very conservative..like it is such a big deal that I show my hair and wear skinny jeans and do not cover up with a scarf or something..

Some, also Egyptians themselves, consider themselves arabs now..but I detest the arabic culture and I think it ruined the beauty of the ancient Egyptian civilization..and now it is gone..alas..

When people ask me,I say I am Egyptian..Egyptians are actually a mixture of africans, mideterraneans, greeks and arabs..

But nobody around here seems to notice that..I did not know myself until one of my American friends mentioned that..and it makes sense..if I read a history book, that is what I will find..but too bad the arabic culture brainwashed my people..and now Egypt is nothing more than a backwards country with an abusive culture..

Well anyways..

Thanks for your compliment..you are so sweet Smile

Not to go against what you said, but rather to add. There is a misinterpritation of the Arab culture in which as you mentioned Egypt falls into. When one mentions "arabs", it should pertain only to people from Saudi Arabian peninsula (including Dubai, UAE, etc). These in general were the Bedouin you mention who astonishingly came from being a desertic nomad society to the potency it is today. The ancient nations who neighbor this land, ie. Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, etc have all then been dubbed "Arab" by the west when they are far from that.

The oldest are the Assyrians (the ancient babilonic cultures) which made up ancient Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. The Persians made up places like Iran and Iraq. Egyptians themselves were ancient babylonians who settled in the region and created icons we see of Egypt today. Of course then throughout thousands of years we now have the mixture of people we see now.

I guess what I am trying to say is that Arab culture is quite new. It is a recent invention in which many things and customs are being taken in and being denominated under one banner. Of course I know there are problems which you mentioned.. That is on account of horrible autocratic governments and ignorance on the true sence of Islam by many with little education who are easily governed by those with ill intentions.

.... hm. somewhat offtopic I am aware. Sorry I have no idea about measurments or anything. You do look good though. =)

Love. Nothing more needed to be believed in. Nothing more powerful which in essence would allow for a mouse to overtake a lion in the name of it. People may fight for god and die in his name (as we have well seen). But when one fights for love, they fight with an unequal passion and would come out victorious on account of it.

I am a man who walks alone
And when Im walking a dark road
At night or strolling through the park

When the light begins to change
I sometimes feel a little strange
A little anxious when its dark

Fear of the Dark....

Im extremely claustrophobic. Of course this is something more common.. but still. I remember when bulking into a small car.. around 12 of us all squished in a tiny vehicle. I would rather walk 10 miles in the cold rather than suffer 2 minutes of that feeling. Plus with these infrequent yet still occurring drive by kidnappings in which your placed in the trunk. I would rather be shot.

When I was younger I used to be extremely afraid of aliens and being possesed by the devil (happened after I saw The Exorcist). Of course the alien fear subsided soon after and my fear of the devil went away after I realized that god didnt exist and therefore neither did the devil. (Of course thats just me... god may indeed exist and I will be handed over to the devil in a silver platter for such a comment; but oh well. cest la vie).

Weight Gain good way to gain? Sep 02 2009

Eating right before bed is very important seeing as your body is still burning calories while you are asleep and if you havent eaten for more than an hour and a half before bed time, then your system will look to your reserves in order to obtain the nutrients it needs. So seeing as we want to keep on most of the weight we gain, its beneficial to give your body something else to snack on during that time.

What you eat is up to you. Whatever doesnt make you feel naucious is good enough, just let it be the right balance in between carbohydrates and proteins. If you have been doing lots of phsical activities during the day, then a higher dosage of protein would be ideal seeing as it will help repair the muscle tissues which add to some positive muscle growth (and seeing as muscle mostly expands while resting (ie. sleeping), this is an ideal time to benefit from this).

Most people would recommend something like a glass of milk and a peanut butter sandwich. For a while I myself would drink a pint of milk right before bed with a protein bar or something of the syle... yet recently I cut back on drinking too much seeing as I would wake up in the middle of the night with the urge to go to the bathroom. (which sucked.. but depending on my mood I would sometimes profit from having woken up and I would go have another pint of milk or a glass of grape juice which also has a very high caloric and carb value).

Weight Gain Stuck on carbs.. Aug 23 2009

100% natural grape juice. I find that this is the best substance for including carbs seeing as its concentrated in carbs (about 50 grams per serving), which you could have on the side of a plate of sphagetti or even cereal with milk, which would bring that meal in itself to about 100 grams of carbohydrates.

The Lounge Is Chivalry Dead? Aug 19 2009
20:35 (UTC)

chivalry can never die. Its that golden part of us which gives us our most profound civility, yet of course for some of us, its piled under a field of dung. Its within us by instinct.

As in most if not every species, the male protects the female; as its been throughout history from the very foundations. It has nothing to do with sexism. Its not about who is more capable, or smarter, or better in any way... I would even go to say that women tend to always be the better of the two and it is because of that in itself that man has at least this one thing which he MUST do in order to be of some use.

Now in a society without the need to fend of predators, in which our role in society is becoming every day more obsolete, we have one thing to keep us going.. that is chivalry. If its not fighting the battle for the sake of your own, then at least the simplest gesture of opening to door for her, giving her your seat, helping her out of the car or down the steps, and simply just allowing her to have as much comfort as possible, even if she damn well can do it herself.. well, it makes us feel better about ourselves. We are still useful in some way.

If chivalry dies then we have nothing left. Women can do all what we can do. They are prettier than us... with advances in science they dont even really need us to reproduce. We would become obsolete bohemoths of a past time... slowly fading away like our Y chromosome.
