Thanks for all of the advice, just wanted to give an update. It has now been 2 months and I'm still in the same position. However, I have evaluated my situation a little bit more. I am a lot better in terms of being away from home, I still hate the distance but I have accepted that I am not going home so I don't feel as homesick. I still want to transfer though, I have no "pride" going here which doesn't help me because I don't love this school enough to motivate myself to change things. Also, I really don't like the weather, I'm not used to cold AT ALL. Generally speaking, I have found that the people who go here are from the same area and are pretty cliquey when it comes to meeting new people. I have decided that if I still feel this way at Christmas break, then I am going to apply for a transfer. I know it will be tough to start over some where else, but I feel that if I love the school, I will want to get myself out there rather then settle for a mediocre college experience. |

My school is HUGE, I've looked into activities to get involved in but they have all fallen through so far. So right now I'm trying to get a part-time job to keep myself busy because when I'm busy I'm not thinking as much about negative things. I just want time to start going a little faster, I want to get into more of a routine. The other thing I'm having trouble with is the weekends. I'm not a party-er and the weekends are when I feel the most homesick because I don't know what to do with myself. |

i think my main issue is that I don't want to leave my high school friends (including boyfriend) because I've never had problems with them. I don't feel that fierce need to break out of my comfort zone, I'm still not all "YAY COLLEGE", I'm very much attached to home right now :/ haha I sound like such a sappy teenager right now but, I can't help it! |

| Weight Loss | How can I lose weight? | Jul 04 2009 03:09 (UTC) |

you don't need to lose weight at all! Your BMI is 19.2 which is healthy for your height. If you lost 10 pounds your BMI would be 17.2 and that would prevent your body from developing properly and could do some damage in the long run. Eat when your hungry, stop when your full and for goodness sakes enjoy your young metabolism while it still works to your advantage! Message me if you need any more advice! |

i just had an amy's single serve pizza last night and it was delicious! It tasted like a real, fresh pizza, can't wait to have another one! Also, I bought the brown rice and veggies bowl, its only 260 calories and it looks tasty!
OH and amy's mac n' cheese is excellent :) |

thanks so much for all of the tips! I know it sounds weird to be "scared" to gain weight but I'm very happy with my current lifestyle and I want to keep it up! Luckily, I hate beer so I think I'll be ok on that aspect. |

| Weight Loss | Breakfast is important, but when to eat it? | Jun 26 2009 20:32 (UTC) |

For me personally, I find that having a 200-300 calorie breakfast BEFORE working out helps me to have more energy when working out thus making my workout more productive. However, if you feel that you have enough energy to get in a strong workout before you eat anything then I would say what your doing is fine. |

| Motivation | And then there was bingeing again. | Jun 19 2009 21:10 (UTC) |

I feel ya! What I find most helpful is to think of the reasons why you are trying to be healthier. Make sure you have the right goals in mind, ex:feeling stronger, more confident. If your goals are to be thin then this is just not a realistic thought when trying to stay motivated. Also, give yourself non-food rewards for not bingeing, ex: hanging out with a friend, watching a movie, taking a walk, etc. (sometimes I get myself a new pair of earrings). Make sure that your eating plan for the day includes a snack, that way after you eat lunch, instead of thinking "more food!" think about the delicious snack you will be able to have if you hold off until later! Spreading out meals has helped me ALOT. I hope these tips helped you! Good Luck, you can do it! |
