Hey Hun, From first hand experience, you sound like you are facing ED. But don't worry, 'cause all it does is lie to you. Yup, lie. I restricted way below 1300, and when I upped my calories I finally began to lose weight again. If you feel like your stomach looks fat just by eating 200 more, it's because its the ed speaking and making your thoughts disordered. It's all in the mind. I restricted way below 1300, lets say 800, and when I finally started eating 1500 I began to lose again. Your growing and your body needs the calories. Do not worry, you will not gain weight! It really doesn't matter what you eat, as long as you eating below your burn. The minimum is 1500 so eat that. And all you really need is 30 minutes of exercise a day. Walking is great! AND YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT EATING 1500 CALORIES. Like I said it doesn't really matter what you eat. Just try to eat more fruits and whole grains and lean meat (eggs, chicken, fish), veggies (even tomato sauce counts), yogurt, milk (1%). You can eat ice cream now and then as long as its within 1500 calories. AND BELIEVE ME YOU WILL LOSE WEIGHT! Plus, you don't really need to lose weight 'cause your already at a perfect weight! Just keep active, and eat! If you don't eat you'll go into starvation, mess up your thyroids and become malnutreated. So eat. :) |

Original Post by gi-jane: Gi-Jane, thanks so much for responding. I honestly feel alone through this ordeal. The thing is it's going to be hard to tell the doctor the truth. No one know what I've been going through, how much I've been eating. It's just embarrasing and I feel pathetic. I haven't done exercise in a long time. But I still lost some weight with 1500 calories. I'm now 116 at about 5'4", but suppose to be 5'7 due to curvature of spine. I'm eating my 1500, but this weekend I ate a little over 2000, two days in a row, and I experience heart palpitations and intense heat and hunger doing so. I'm not sure why. :/ The calculator says I need 1720 inactive..... but if I eat over 1500, I get those weird symptoms. Like I told zobiria, I mistook what the doctor said. She said the antibodies were in the 1000's, so I don't know if thats hypo or hyper or whatever, but that's high. Anyways I have to go see an endo. I'll be sure to update though, let you know what's happening in this weird body of mine. I regret so much undereating. I wish I never did undereat. But thanks again so much for your help and advice! |

zobiria - Well, I was really incorrect with my thread. I thought my thyroid levels were too high, but it's my antibodies. They are like in the 1000's. I got confused with the TSH. However I still need to see an endo. Hopefully all is well. I've been eating healthy again. Yesterday I got enough protein...lean protein, from soy, salmon and eggs. So I guesss I'm doing ok. Anyways, I will be updating about my progress. My dad has hypothyroids so the doctor said it could be genetically. I catch everything bad from my family. I have to get surgery soon too for another reason. Thanks again for responding though! |

Original Post by liannasmith: LOL. I'm not pregnant. But that is totally weird on the wheat/fructose issue. I don't eat wheat but I do eat fruit. A banana a day. Hmmm...I'm not sure. |

I don't know, it was stupid of me. But how long can the affects or symptoms of food allergy bloating last? I'm still bloated to this day! I even took benadryl but nothing! |

Yeah, I googled that on the internet, however, everytime I eat yogurt, my stomach expands a lot and sometimes it hurts. But I was also wondering if something that I was allergic to could of caused my weight gain and bloating. Like last week, I had peanut butter even though I'm allergic! It was all we had to eat. So I guess that can cause bloating for a while? How long should the allergy work inside your system? |

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I've been drinking tons of liquids, but I don't normally drink anything with my meals or even after for a while. I do tend to eat fruit w/ crackers. So maybe I'll try eating it alone. And I eat 6-7 meals a day, very slowly. But I'll start the food combining. As for the constipation, I don't eat much dairy -- maybe like 3-4 times a week. And I don't eat sugar or much meat. But I will try eating way more veggies! |

I also think the bloating is the cause for my 2 lb gain. Thanks for the advice. I'm gonna stop eating yogurt now, and see if it works. And I also reduced my sodium a little. Hopefully it does. But I can't believe this could be happening eating 300 calories more! This stinks! Thanks again. |

Definitely start eating more. Plus you may want to start taking a multi-vitamin. So you get all the vitamins you've been lacking. Try incorporating some lean meats, fruits and veggies into your diet. People may think eating meat makes you fat, but in actuality it aids in weightloss as it takes more to metabolize. You also need the protein so your body doesn't start eating up it's muscle, which slows down your metabolism. Also try eating more veggies, more fruits, especially veggies. They have a lot of vitamins and nutrients. Also try adding more fish into your diet, salmon preferably and tuna. And oils, extra virgin olive oil preferably. Eggs are also very healhty, its okay to have atleast one a day. You need a variety of healthy foods from almost each food groups, to get you the weight loss you want, and get there in a healthy way. |

We have internet access thank goodness, but we are on food stamps...my mom pays for it when she starts working, its just 29.95 -- i told her to cancel it but shes said what the heck, its not like 29.95 is going to pay for groceries, so she said we might as well leave it on. Insensitive much. |

Yes. Lol at the child abuse. I never said I was being abused. However, you're being a little insensitive, judging before you know the whole story. My parents are currently not making any money. My mom works about 2 days a week in the summer, not much money comes home. My dad's not working he's depressed. We're on food stamps, EBT, but currently ran out, and guess what?! No food completely! Maybe you've never been in my situation, and hopefully never, but there's actually no food here. We've been like this for 2 years. There's more issues to that but too much info. The food we did have was early morning and we had oatmeal and a little milk left over. We can't go to the food pantry yet, because its only available Wed., which thank goodness it is today, now we will have food. I'm not fabricating anything, I don't like being a "victim". And I never said I was being abused. So much you know. |

It's ok :) My moms not a rotten mom, although at times I may feel that way. It's just that the kids are hurting just as much as the parents are in these tough economic times. There should be sympathy and understanding from both parties, not just on one part. |

Thanks for understanding. It's sad to hear that you rode the same boat. I only watch my little sister at 16, but you started really young :( But I guess what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger :) I did get to eat, my dad bought some banana's at the store, and maybe my mom will go shopping later when she relaxes. Thanks though. |

My dad's depressed and just takes his pills and sleeps all day, and I'm only 16 under a lot of pressure feeling like the mother around here, and all I did was yell...I only wish someone could understand. And Again I can't buy anything to eat cause no money! Babysitting but I don't get paid. whatever :/ |

The thing is my job this summer has been babysitting my sister, cleaning the house and cooking -- I'm only 16!!! My moms been working her part time and when she comes home, shes too tired, buts shes only a freaking secretary and my dads depressed. I did apologise -- yet she is too munipulative and turns everything around. So now I'm just hungry, but I guess I'm going to sleep to sleep off the hunger pangs. Life sucks and so does my mother. |
