GI Jane has taken time to help me on several occasions also. The time and effort she puts into the forum is a fantastic resource. I would not have the energy to keep advising these people that need so much attention for undereating. She has a lot of patience and I have never seen her be rude to anyone on here.

Its good to mix it with an egg and some veggies, put it in the oven for 20 mins and it makes a nice quiche sort of dish.....(without the pastry) |

Me too! I was doing well and have now slipped back into my old ways. Am 190 lbs. My goal is 145lbs. I would like to aim to shift 12 lbs by Dec the 31st. My exercise is reasonable, I enjoy it. My major problem is will power, avoiding junk, white wine and portion control. So the exercise is just useless really! This group sounds just what I need. Good luck everyone. |

| Weight Loss | which diet? | Sep 20 2009 23:08 (UTC) |

I guess you can 'gain' on any diet or eating plan. I lost on it, just didn't keep it off. I am no expert by far, but its a balance of cals in and cals out. Thats why I think this site is better for managing weight long term. I don't think you can eat as much a you like on either red or green days and still loose. However, I am at a loss to explain loosing the 2 stone! So, it does work in some way. Can't explain just how though |

Hiya, I have tried slimming world, it worked really well at 1st. I managed to loose 2 stone. However, found it really boring and restrictive after a while. You have to limit yourself to either carbs or protein. I put every last pound back on when I tried to eat 'normally ' again. I know you can eat as much as you like on either day, but I found it unrealistic to stick to. Eating out is hard work also. You do have limited A or B choices (limited amounts of carbs or proteins on red/green days) It may be good to get going though. I have found cal counting and logging exercise more effective in the long run. I guess whatever works for you is worth a go. Good luck. |

| Weight Loss | The electronic weighing scales....... | Sep 20 2009 22:18 (UTC) |

I can totally relate to this. Exercise all you like, eat double the portion, that will be 80 mins at the gym instead of 40. Its so not worth it. Every 50 g on the scales may be an hour on the tread mill, or pushing those weights for an extra 30 mins. Weigh everything, we can guess forever! It doesn't work. |

Maybe a movement softner ( I think what G.I suggests) may help, like lactulose rather than a laxative. If the problem is hard BM, not a non movement. May be an idea. They can be bought over the counter. |

I think it will include a little milk and added fat to a scrambled egg maybe. Not sure as am no expert. Just guessing my way round also! I think it takes into account the way and what additional cals it includes to cook it this way.... |

Hiya, I started the programme about 4 weeks ago and had to stop due to some problems (not with the programme!) I got up to the 2nd workout in week three. I have only stopped for a week. I think I will try week 2 from the start again, if I cant manage will go back to week 1. Anyone else on week 2?? |

Thanks, have had a look at it...like the vids that show you how to do the actual moves/lifts. Will have a good read and a go at it. My only problem will be getting the guys in the gym to let me have a go on the bench press exercises! They dont shift from that bench! But I reckon once I have had a proper read of it you may be able to do it in the ladies gym with free weights.... |

I have this problem also. I am fortunate not to have pain, I always try to get a supportive bra. I got a new one last week (was under £30) and the best I have ever had. I am an F cup. It the Freya active bra. I found it amazing, may be worth a look at. |

| Motivation | How can you tell that you're really doing it this time? | Jul 04 2009 19:11 (UTC) |

I am being truthful with my food logging (which in itself make me more accountable). I am now really making myself think before I just shove food in my mouth.....how will I feel AFTER I have eaten this 20 mins later, rather, than how fab will this taste for the next 30 secs. I have bought the gym gear, got the gym pass (again!)......i will use it a min of 4 times a week. I know once I get there I will enjoy it and walk out in a fab mood. When I feel really de motivated I make sure I am in a body pump or combat class for that day (never managed to walk out of one yet!) can always tell myself I have a sore leg in the gym! Finally, when I am really tempted I think of how many mins on the tread mill it will take me to burn that box of pringles off........usually not worth it
