Everybody seems to think that pumpkin needs to be sweetened.  It doesn't.  You can make a savory dish with it too.

In New Zealand it's pretty much unheard of to sweeten pumpkin, everyone I know eats it as a savoury dish. Laughing

Same here in Australia.. pumpkin is only in soups and roasts with carrots and sweet potatoes.. hehe... but I'm always up for new things Smile

LOL!  I know!  What gets me is it's not like a gooey brownie or a delicious dark chocolate truffle, where for the flavor/texture the calories are WORTH it! :)  (well, at least for my taste!)

hehe last year i didnt realise it was like 4 serves per moon cake and I ate the whole thing thinking it was heaps low cal.. was in bliss til I realised...

So worth it! :)

I love the flavoured mooncakes my Chinese boss would give out at work. My favourite flavour was Cappuccino.

I think this year I'm going to stay away from them as they are quite heavily loaded with calories.

I think you may not be eating enough calories and your metabolism has slowed down... especially if u are exercising so much you need to eat back the calories you burn.. try increase your cals and see how you go.

6 small meals a day may also help... and don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat..

Hope this helps and good luck!

Weight Loss Do You Eat Healthy Foods But Do Not Exercise? Jun 26 2009

I also lost a lot of weight last year without any exercise but it left me 'skinny fat' and not happy with how I looked.

Also without any exercise I believe it had set me up for failure as i put a lot of the weight back on.

Now I'm losing weight again which I believe is the correct and best way by incorporating exercise with my healthy eating. I'm not talking about a vigorous hourly workout each day but only a nice and relaxing 30-45 min walk which I'm trying to get to a jog with time.

I'm feeling more healthier than I was when I was just eating the correct foods and I'm happier now too! Plus I can eat more when I work out Tongue out

Health & Support can you have hypothyroidism and be slim? Jun 26 2009
01:19 (UTC)

No probs Smile

I only began suffering from Raynauds last year after I had restricted cals over a long time and I had gotten too thin and so I think you most probably just have this also if you have no trouble in maintaining your weight.

I think you should just get the tests done to put your mind at rest and I wouldn't worry about the effects of hypo until you are diagnosed.

Dont worry and let us know how you go!
Good luck!

Weight Loss Sit down job Jun 25 2009

Hi there,

But when I come to work I sit all day and all I want to do is eat. I bought some celery to munch on and I will have like 15 cheez-its. I am trying to eat within my calories, but after all this working out I am not burning enough calories and eating more cause I am bored at work.

Hi!

When I started my desk job was when my weight began to soar due to boredom and constant snacking.

I found what helped me lose 15 kg was having set times to eat and having a healthy snack in between meals like this:

7.30am Breakfast
10am snack
12.30 pm Lunch
3.30 pm Snack
6 pm dinner
7.30pm snack

I found that having set times helped me strive towards not snacking due to boredom. Going on CC on the work computer also helped me with boredom Tongue out

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Hi personaltrainer87,

I don't know anything about hypothyroidism but based on your symptoms:

I have a lot of the symptoms - cold feet and hands (hands actually turn blue and circulation cuts off so they cannot even turn a key or function. No exaggeration.)

I have this problem also and mine even makes me scream and cry with pain  when the blood rushes back in sometimes.
I was very worried when this started happening to me and so I saw my doctor and he diagnosed me with Raynaud's disease:

Chronic condition in which the blood supply to the extremities is reduced by periodic spasm of the blood vessels on exposure to cold. It is most often seen in young women. Attacks are usually brought on by cold or by emotional factors. Typically, the hands and/or feet take on a corpselike pallor, changing to blue as the circulation begins to return; initial numbness is replaced by a tingling or burning sensation. Drugs may be necessary to control the condition, which in severe cases can give rise to ulceration or gangrene.

I hope this info was helpful and good luck.
