Thanks for the tip, I also hate gatorade...I don't like to taste of pretty much any sports drink and they don't really settle very well with my stomach. I think the water and the Energy gels for the longer runs are going to be the way to go for me. I'll have to check into those Nuun tablets too and see! I am really excited to start training! My two friends and I are starting a week from today :)

Thank you for the advice!!! I actually have looked at Hal Higdon's plan along with a few others, so glad you recommended it! Also, I heard that you should drink something other than water on long runs...like some kind of sports drink....any recommendations?

| I would love to join this group if it is not too late! I have been using this site on and off for about two and a half years....more off though recently and I have never been a part of a group! I think it will really help me stay on track because I have been doing poorly lately! | I am not sure of my measurements either, but I can give you my weights and goals and size. CW: 145 (fluctuates very easily to 147, 145, 144, etc.) GW: 125-130 (depending on the way I look at 135, 130, etc.) I wear a size 8 in pants and a size small or a 4 in tops, I have a small chest and upper body with a larger butt and thighs. I am just starting to focus on getting in shape this week now so I am planning on working out 5-6 days a week. With cardio days being an hour of cardio and weight days being 45 mins of weights and 30 mins of cardio. I try to eat healthy and am not sure where I am going to shoot for calories yet because I have a very big appetite and do not think it would be a good idea for me to only eat 1200 or 1300 calories at first. I would be starving alllll the time! I will probably shoot for 1700 on workout days and 1500 on no workout days. We will see though. How about you? |

| if you like beer, Beck's Premier Light only has 64 calories so you can basically have two beers for the amount of calories in a normal one.....I am trying to lose a little weight and am definitely having a hard time with the whole alcohol thing since I am in college right now and of course have friends that always want to go out Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights (if not during the week as well)...I try to drink only one night but it definitely is not helping my getting into better shape! | |||

| I do not know how much help I will be, but I know the feeling of not being able to lose weight and stick with it...I have been trying for a year now and just can't seem to get with it. Anyways, there are tons and tons of other things you can do to exercise other than running. I am not a big fan of running either so I do alot of walking on an incline on the treadmill or the stair climber for my cardio. However I have the exact opposite in the chest area...I like to say B, but to be honest probs and A haha....so I can't really relate to that or know how walking would be with DD. Walking and the stair master definitely are not as bouncy though, so hope this helped a little bit!!! Good luck! :) and just try to stay positive as hard as it may be! | |||

| i have the exact same problem....i hate my thighs! lol. I have a relatively small upper half and my lower half is definitely bigger! I have not been trying long enough to see much results, but I have been told that running will help slim them down as well and strength training like pilates to tone up. I have been told tho that running is the best bet for thighs. if you find anything else let me know too!! haha :) | |||

| i like my face and my butt ;), i woud like it a little more toned but im working on it. But I absolutely dispise my legs and thighs...they are muscular and really SHORT and then my thighs are fat and huge lol! | |||

| I am about 5'6/5'7 and I weigh somewhere inbetween 140-144 (changes all the time lol...and im trying to get to 130 eventually!!!)...and I wear a size 8 pants and usually small or medium shirts....although I have a larger lower half than upper, like the pear shape I guess. Also pants seem to vary alot I can wear a size 6 or 7 some places or and 8 or 9 others, I just say 8 cuz thats what most are! Hope that helps! :-) | |||

| I am 5'6 with a medium frame and weigh 145lbs. right now my goal is 130 lbs. eventually....its a lot harder than I thought lol!!! I just want to be toned really!! and as for losing 5 lbs by december i guess its possible but 1-2 lbs. per week is healthy!!! Take care :) | |||
