| Weight Loss | Suggestions? Anyone? | Dec 22 2006 22:33 (UTC) |

| With weightlifting, I try to do whole body workouts, such as squats, powercleans, military press (standing). It is also a good idea to incorporate your own lifts to add to this workout. Just search workouts on the net. I try to use light weight and try to do about 2 sets at about 15-20 reps. I alternate between days with one day of lifting weights and the next with cardio. One of the problems I am sometimes faced with is finding protein, because I am a vegetarian. But other than that I'm going to continue to stick with this plan. | |||

| No, I'm not over training, I'm doing high sets for about 10-15 min a workout session and at the end of the week I'll go longer. My coach told me this diet will work as long as I increase my cals every 1-3 days. It has worked so far. The reason is because a while back I was on a diet to lose weight and I was not very healthy with that diet only consuming about 900-1100 cals. So I want to increase at a healthy pace. | |||

| Still ate school then, going to football practice. Nothing to eat right now!! I'll be participating in all the activities I logged after school. And I'll get a chance to eat more when I get home. I'll find it hard to eat 2000 cals when I get home. | |||

| Wait a min.!!
the site says I need to eat around 1900 cals. My activity level must have been set on high or something. And this is only what I have managed to eat so far in the day. Right now I'm still at school then it's off to football practice. I've only had a chance to eat my breakfast and lunch. |

| I will try other things for a while, but in the mean time.... I was wondering if the fact that I find myself more hungry at times and I also find myself eating more quantities of the foods I've been eating espically the popcorn, has anything to do with the fact that I've been eating the same foods? | |||

| What exactly do you mean by a "small food Group"?
I've always tried to get my veggies in so that's where the brocollie came from. And I use to use sweetpotatoes and make french fries, but now I just use squash instead. And I've always enjoyed my popcorn. I heard that I should have fish at least once or twice a week? I'm considering this option. What exactly would you suggest to eat a bigger food group? |

| Motivation | Getting back on track.... | Jul 16 2006 17:13 (UTC) |

| Yeah, I'm trying to get back on track also.
I think I fell off when for about a week I used the wrong measurments on my oatmeal and instead of 150cals I was consuming about 300-400cals sometimes over that per serving! I was eating this about 2-3 times a day, and I was still eating my other meals and snacks with it. It caused a weight gain, and now I'm trying to get back on track after finding my mistake. I have upped my exercise for the week and I hope this works. Wish me luck! So, what are you doing to get back on track? |

| Yeah, well I think its suppose to come out like a soft kind of cookie, and if you want to add some more protein to this already very high in protein treat, you can even throw some cottage chesse into the mix! | |||

| Finewine58 > I don't mean just by eating 900 cals for one day, I went from tone to flab, but it's been just this past week or week and a half of upping my cals, that I recently gain this weight. I'm off from the weight room for a whole week due to the 4th of july, so after my morning run and a little swim, that's all the workout i'm getting in. I thought that since I would be off from the weight room this would be a perfect week to up my cals, but I really am getting flabby, it's not just me one of my friends told me. | |||

| So, I was able to finish the day with about 850-950 cals, and I was really stuffed. I went to bed shortly after. But the problem is that this is the first time in a while I have started to up my cals, and instead of it doing some good for me, I just woke up to more excess fat around my stomach area, and I'm just feeling really depressed right now, because of this recent weight gain. Most of the time when I eat, I kind of binge eat, then my stomach starts to feel full, and then I'm all bloated. But, my cals still come out to about 800-950 and maybe even a 1000 at the end of the day. I think the most cals this week was about 1,178 - 1200. I don't know if I'm eating the wrong way or what? I have been thinking about all the things I ate yeasterday and I've been thinking where I could have gone wrong? Maybe the potatoes need to be put to a limit? I run every morning, and eat right everyday. I just can't find the problem! Can anyone suggest a meal plan for the day, if not, any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all the help. P.S. > If you have a meal plan to suggest, remember I'm a Vegeterian. Thanks alot. P.P.S> Clairelaine - Would you care to elaborate on the topic of bloating problems being form sheer hunger? |

| Ok, I'm at just about 800 cals for the day, and I feel full and fat. I can see more fat on my body than usual lately, and I haven't been over 1200 cals in very long time. Is it because I ate so much over a short period of time? My stomach feels bloated and it's hanging because I'm full!! How much longer of getting more cals before I can start to lose weight again? Very depresed over the last week. Any suggestions? Flamel : I'll add you as a friend too, we can help each other out. But yeasterday, I felt guilty about eating so much friday that I didn't get very much cals in for yeasterday. I feel that I can eat up to or more than 1500 cals a day, but it's just the guilt I feel when eating that much. It's a hard process but, I'm getting there and I'm gonna make it work. Thanks for all the advice, and I will keep all of you updated. THANKS!!! |

| I'm Not eating unhealthy, I'm an vegetarian. I notice that during the day my calories are really low like around 100-250 calories, and at dinner time I eat around 300-400 calories. At the end of the day I might end up with like 600-700 calories, sometimes more sometimes less. My main diet consist of fish, beans, vegetables, and La Choy noodles, (love asian food!!).
I'm rethinking my eating plans, and thinking of increasing to about 1200 cals a day or somewhere around that, but I'm having trouble trying to decide how I'm going to cycle that. I was thinking maybe 200-250 for breakfast, another 200-250 for lunch, and another 250-300 for dinner. Will this work? I really want my tone back, I lift weights tue, wed, thurs, I take a cheat day on Fri. (Asian Rest) 5'5, 155-157, athletic, - main goal to build tone, and decrease body fat. Suggestions Please!! |

| Weight Loss | How To Identify "Starvation Mode"??? | Jun 18 2006 23:26 (UTC) |
|
| I posted this post about 1 or 2 weeks ago, and things have still been the same. I know many will say to eat more, and that my calories are low but, sometimes I don't feel the need to and I still get along just fine with the amount of calories I'm getting a day. The only difference is that depending on what I eat for dinner, depends on my enery level for the following morning. So I try to get more protein in at dinner time if I have to go to football practice the next day. I do include cheat days in my diet, and I just had one yeasterday, where I consumed alot of calories at a chinese restaurant. Please read the above post, and please give me any ideas you may have. | |||

| -Saroful- Good idea about the beans, but I don't eat too much of any beans because of the calories in them. Once again, I'm afraid of the calories! I had to push myself into eating those sweet potatoe French fries! |

| -Saroful -
well I'm planning on getting a workout, then I'm going home and make some sweet potatoe french fries, because I love them. I don't really have anything else planned. Do you have any suggestions? I would like something that will fill me up, but with negative calories. I guess the best choice would be some greens? |

| Yeah, Thanks for the help. Do you have any advice about what I could eat today and tonight that would fill me up and still be negative calories? This really helps me too. And do you think the breakfast was over doing it, cause I'm starting to feel guilty. | |||

| Ok, well after listening to what you all had to say, I went home last night and I had some shrimp fried rice with some vegetables, and I made some sweet potatoe fries. It was delicious and it filled me up. I didn't feel too guilty, but still a little. This morning I got about 360 calories in just for breakfast. I had some special K cereal (wheat), a Nature Valley trail Mix bar, and an orange. | |||
