I had a friend that said she loved mexican food because tortillas only had like 30 or 40 calories.

L: left over veggie thin-crust pizza, cottage cheese, 1/4 piece raisin bread with apple butter, yellow carrots in roasted pine nut hummus.

S: 1/2 c plain yogurt with apple butter(lol i'm addicted), coconut flavored tofu, a mini red delicious apple, two hershey's kisses.

D: tomato basil boca burger on a sandwich thin with lettuce, tomato, cottage cheese, hummus, onion, brown mustard and canola mayo. 1/3ish cup potato salad with yellow mustard.

S: a medium/smallish banana, a piece of raisin bread with apple butter, a vanilla yogurt with apple butter(haha i am SERIOUSLY addicted to the stuff today), a few bites of boyfriend's bagel with cream cheese.

I'm really trying to intuitively eat now! Counting calories has kept me in the ED mindset. I'm only a few days in and it's going well so far!

I get this sometimes when I'm dehydrated. Are you drinking enough water in the afternoon? I used to work evenings, and I can't have beverages when I'm on the clock, so I would come home at like 1030 and feel sooooo sick, like about to puke. I realized I just need to chug water on my breaks haha.

There are two threads on this page you've created about a part of your body you don't like, and this worries me. Everyone is different, and NO ONE is perfect. I'm sure your body is beautiful, and if you learn to love and accept it, and treat it so it will save you a lot of grief in the long run.

Btw: my hips look like that too. I think it's just a part of being a woman.

Thanks!

And gi-jane, I really don't feel like i'm that active.  I do do all those things, but a lot of the time I feel like I'm just sitting around. Plus, when I was actively gaining I was on 2700-3300 cals a day and gaining 1.5lbs a week on average, so I don't think I need quite that many to maintain.

The same thing happened to me when I was underweight and recovering as well. I would eat CONSTANTLY. I would out-eat my 6'5" brothers and boyfriend and still could pack away more, haha. It's basically your body's way of trying to get to a healthy weight. Now that I'm weight restored this doesn't happen. (Though some days I am very hungry and others not as much. This is just how a body works though)

Weird, the same thing happened to be. Pre-ED I was top heavy with very scrawny legs and no butt/hips. Now that I've regained weight I definitely have a bigger butt and hips then before, even at the same weight.

Hey hph, our stats are pretty similar. I'm 5'9" and my lw was 98. I'm now weight restored at 127-130 and am still very slender(and I'm just barely in the healthy weight range too). even at 5'8", 115 would still put you underweight.

You are eating way too little. The minimum for very small, sedentary ycc'ers is 1500 a day. Your body is probably in starvation mode. Now, when you up your calories you might gain some initial weight/water weight, but it is better than a damaged metabolism, no? Use this site to see how many calories you need, and if you are trying to lose, subtract 500 from the number they give you.

Weight Gain Update on Weight Gain Oct 21 2009

I am going to guess you are a fairly tall male? If so, it might take 20+ lbs for others to notice. I am a female(5'9") and my lowest weight was below 100. It took 10 lbs for my boyfriend to really notice anything different, and 15-20 before others did! I guess a lot of the first few lbs go to your internal organs/brain/muscle tissue. Also, if you were dehydrated when you were exercising a lot, a lot of it could have gone to replenish water in your system? Plus, the taller you are, the less noticable it is. (Which kind of sucks because up until just a month or so ago everyone was still making comments about me being "scary skinny" and I'm like "BUT I'VE GAINED 20 LBS!!" :p)

Health & Support gaining on under 2000... help :\ Oct 21 2009

When I first started gaining, I was eating 2500 calories. My rate of gain was about 1-2 lbs a week. Towards the end of my recovery, I decided to up to 3000+. Guess what? My rate of gain stayed the same. I wish I would have discovered that sooner in my recovery!

My point is, your body is an amazing thing. If you give it what it needs to repair, it will do it.

You guys are all so inspiring! I love this thread; it keeps me motivated when I'm feeling like caving.

Anyway, today I packed up all my ED clothes. They were backing up my drawers and closet(symbolic, maybe?). Tomorrow they go to the thrift store!

I bought low-fat cottage cheese last night instead of fat-free(I know, I know..I'm working up to full fat)

Also: Yesterday I bought some baked goods at a bake sale. No idea of the calories or anything! And ate them both.

Today I had an appointment, and knew that would mean a weigh in. Now, back in my ED days I would have not eaten ANYTHING that day, prob taken laxatives, and worn a very thin t-shirt and leggings with slippers to make sure I weighed as little as possible.

Today? I ate a full breakfast and lunch, drank as much water as i wanted, and wore something CUTE, regardless of bulk. And when the scale was 6 lbs higher than normal due to clothes and water weight I didn't even flinch!

I can usually get jeans from anywhere so long as I get the size in Long. I have jeans from hollister(7L). Also, Vigoss, I think, at Nordstrom offers 32" inseam jeans. Those are nice :)

Also Delias(delias.com) and alloy(alloy.com) have inseams up to 37" i believe.

I did kind of what chrissy was talking about. Except it was just one skirt I bought in the size I wnated to be at, and after 5 months it fits(in my display pic :]). But yeah, get rid of all your small clothes! Leggings, skirts, tunics are all good choices that can work with you as you gain :)

Today my boyfriend and I had planned to go to IHOP for lunch. Well, ED crept in before and I looked up all the calorie info online. I had planned to get a veggie omelet(on the dieter's menu) for 360 calories. After having a small breakfast only so far that day, that would have put me at extremely low calories. Once we got there I shut ED up and ordered some veggie/egg stuffed crepes with HOLANDAISE sauce. Yes, butter. Lots of it. And even drank some OJ(liquid cals!) and had some of my boyfriends fruit crepes with more butter and regular(not the sugar free) syrup!

+ I'm also proud of myself for not restricting troday after going over on my cals yesterday(lotsssss of drinking/partying/4am munchies)

Check out the stickies on the top of the weight gain forum, they have lists of calorie dense foods. Also, how tall are you? If you are severely underweight you probably shouldn't be doing strenuous exercise until you get to a healthier weight...

first of all...how tall are you?!? You would have to be well under 5' in order for 93lbs to be healthy and your original weight of 120lbs to be considered unhealthy.

Hey guys! I haven't been posting much lately, but I've reached my goal. I don't know what my EXACT weight is, but last time I checked it was 124-125 and I'm a pound or two up from that(I havne't been weighing myself lately) so I'm guessing i'm at 126-127. It took five months but I'm finally done!!! I uploaded some new pics taken today and I can't believe I used to be okay with looking how I did back then! gahh.

Health & Support Anyone with OCD? Oct 10 2009

I developed OCD at the age of 8/9 which was paired with emetophobia and germaphobia. I developed anorexia at that time, too. That was about 10 years ago and I've recovered and relapsed many times since then, also suffering from bulimia a few years ago. It's good that you're aware of it, that could potentially stop it from getting that far. You said you go to therapy; I would suggest mentioning this to your therapist.

I'm not 110 ,way less :(...but i'm just going to stop coming on this site. I'm not getting the support i'd hoped for.

Listen, there is support here and tons of it. But only for people who WANT to recover. You are asking us to support your eating disorder. Many people on this site are recovered from eating disorders(myself included), and we know exactly how all this feels. Plus, it is VERY triggering to see someone eating a 700 cal diet and talking about how they shouldn't have eaten a donut. We are more than willing to support you in your RECOVERY, not your ED.

Are you tryong to recover? If so, why are you eating a low cal "safe" food while the rest of yourf fam is eating something else? I'm sorry, but this seems like active e/d behavior. And allowing yourself foods that ED doesn't want is vital to recovery... Plus you said you're gaining. If so, high cal foods are your friend and you need to have treats once in awhile :)
