| From my understandings of how muscle gain/toning and weight loss works is with the cardio you're burning fat, and then by using less weight but more reps you're toning your muscles rather than building them. i dont think you'll lose muscle mass but rather lose fat and tone/define what muscle you have. and by doing cardio (raising your heart rate) then lifting weights, you're increasing the number of calories you are burning with the weight lifting than when you separated the two, because your body is burning them faster because of the increased heart rate. so basically id stick with what your personal trainer suggested/put into place because it will help you lose the fat faster which will show the muscle you have better. | |||
