nbradford, ur reply stuck a chord with my heart, u r right when peole start to diet they want to get back to that weight which they perceived as their healthiest and happiest weight.

i m 30 yrs. old women, around april i used to way around 154lb. i used to wear XL clothes, i used to hide behind everyone whenever they used to take pics, i used to buy those clothes which fitted me not which i want to buy, when i used to go out with my husband i used to be conscious everytime, well now i m at a weight of 115 lb. some people think i m too thin, but i m happy with my weight , i was of this weight when i was 22 yrs. old, i just feel like my former 22 yrs. self is back, now i m wearing what i want, i m always eager to get my pics, most importantly  when i m going out with my husband or meeting his friend i don't feel conscious.... well, perfect weight for everyone is different, it depends upon peoples culture, circumstance, body frame.......i just want to make a humble request pl, don't judge people by the amount of weight they weight or amount of  weight they want to loose, everryone is different, i m not in the favour of being  under-weight........i just want to sign off by saying i never felt so alive when i was over-weight.....

Terdam i too believe in luck and destiny, but just remember one golden rule "God/Destiny/luck helps those who help themselves", u have to help urself by getting started then u can pray for miracles.

For the start try to include as many veggies as possible in ur diet, whenever u feel like eating snacks eat fruits or veggies, try to avoid soft drinks,trust  me within a week or so ur body will get used to the schedule and u will start loosing weight, if u don't feel like going to gym. u can start by going for walks even if its just 10min. walk it will make a difference.

Start gradually build-it up slowly, don't expect miracle to happen in a day,u did not gain weight in a day so u r not going to loose it in a day........, if u r feeling down emotionally try to make friends , so that u can share ur feelings with them , when one is depressed one tends to eat a lot, but as a individual we have to find solutions for our problem , u r not alone we r with u......

 

If u will try to help ur body, i m sure ur body will help u too, believe urself, u can do it, we r with u....

I adopted a slightly different approach, my extended family live near by, so we have lots of get togethers( once in two days we meet for dinner), when i started my diet, i told everyone v clearly that i was on diet, few of them made fun of me, few tried to distract me by saying we r sure u can never control ur sweet tooth, but when they realised that i was serious(during any normal get together  i always made sure that i filled 60% of my plate with veggies, i never strayed  from my diet) they accepted it , yeah! when there is any special get together i make sure that through out the day i m on a low cal.diet so that during the occassion i can join everyone and eat in moderation.

So, my advice is tell everone that u r serious and try not to get distracted within a month or two everyone will accept that u r on a diet, after once everyone has got used to the idea if u want u can stray a little bit , i u like.

Anyways this worked for me, my family is really v pushy when it comes to serving food, but i lost around 45 lb. in seven months, well it depends upon ur situation.

I awlays use my photogaraphs for motivation, whenever i feel like giving up i take one look at my past pics where i was fat, i always tell myself i have put in alot of time and energy to get to this weight , i must not blow it up for a few peices of treats, it always helps me...

Doctors give v unrealistic goals, my sister-in-law was diagnoised with Hernia, they told her to loose 25 lb. in six months and they gave her such an unrealistic  diet that when i saw her diet plan my immediate reaction was"ARE U SUPPOSE TO EAT THIS BEFORE TAKING FOOD OR AFTER FOOD"her diet plan was of just 600 cal. even the veggies were suppose to be taken in a controlled way, she immediately consulteda nutritionist he suggeted a diet plan of 1200 cal she was able to loose her weight successfully. so pl, remeber doctors r not always right when it comes to suggesting diet plan.

Everyone pl relax and give Kirstin_lewis a break, I know healthy BMI is between 18.5 to 24.9, it depends upon a person age, personality, lifestyle,health and many factors...... which range he/she  wants to choose, well i personally don't find anything wrong if she wants to loose little more weight as long as she is in healthy bmi range its fine, she is just 19, a age at which one wants to look their best, anyways its my personal opinion.

Nasima, I m also a muslim i m not telling u to go and have a big fight with him , u can have a casual, polite chat with him, when he is in a good mood, don't give him all the information in one go, while u r having a lighter time u can tell him do u know one large carrot has 7 calories, one apple has around 60 calories, may be a pizza  has around 500 cal. don't go too much about calories within few weeks time he will understand that large amount of food doesn't equal to large intake of calories, just be patient, i did this with my mother, she doesn't know anything about calories, it took me whole three months before she understood, just be patient and firm, my best wishes r with u, u can loose the weight u want by following ur way of eating.

Don't let ur husband dictate u how much u r suppose to eat, u r a mature women not an infant, tell him firmly u r trying ur level best, if ur body wills support u , u will see some results by june, not the fictional figure of 30 he has in minds, my hubby tried to boss me when i started my diet, i told him politely but firmly that this is my health and i want to do it my way, u can research some sites and get all the information u want, don't let him bully u, today he is bullying u about weight, tomorrow he will bully u about something else, if he is still not listening ask ur family doctor if such low calorie diet is sensible, i m sure she will reply in negative, then u can tell her to tell ur hubby about it.

Hi, I have the same thing but not for apples but red seedless grapes, i can finish 2lb. in a go, ironically i was trying to eat apples a lot to distract my mind form grapes, well u too can try some other fruit.

Shane Paladin, u r an experienced man who has seen and done all that  before, but still no one question the efforts u r putting in maintaing ur weight, ur words r really inspiring, well i always tell myself i have made changes for life, but sometimes i slip off, well whenever i will slip off in the future i will remeber ur words. i too want to make weight maintaince a hobby not  something i do grudgingly( i miss sweets and choclates in my life).

OOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPHHSSSSSSSSSSSSss....shan e paladin, how on earth did u manage to loose so much weight in one week time, as usual ur records r really inspiring, i once heard Dr. Oz. saying u can always take U-Turns, well pl share ur tips how did u managed to stay so motivated, now a days i m facing lot of emeotional pressure to gain weight, whenever i visit my in-laws house they serve me cookies and deserts( i cannot resist sweets, its all or nothing situation)so that i will gain weight, any help how to tackle this odd situation.

once agin ur will power is phenomenal.

Hi shane paladin, sorry for the late reply, my target weight is 121 lb. well, i m happy with my present weight i m not complaining, 7 months back i used to fit in XL size, now whenever i wear S size dress , it gives me a real high. shane paladin, ur weight loss progress is really impressive, except for one diversion, what happened was the scale mal functioning. keep up ur hard work.Ur record is really v inspiring.

Hello counselork, pl request ur doctor to do a blood test, i too had the same symptoms and it turned out that i had severe deficiency of iron.Daily i m tking iron medicine and i m feeling much better.

Hi! I just wanted to give my updates, I had an appintment with my doctor about the Chill factor, he did my blood test and it came out that I had iron deficiency( infact my Iron level is really low, he prescribed medicines) because of it , I was having a difficult time in handling cold, well if any of u r having serious problems with the weather, hair loss or fatigue pl see ur doctor.

I miss cheese pizza, choclates i could finish 2 lb. of choclates in minutes, i miss brownies, cookies,choclate cakes, premium ice cream,  peanut butter cookies from Tim Hortons, infact I miss sweets, I don't have control over myself, its either all or nothing, i just wish i could eat everything i want for a day, but I know if I do that  my Calorie count on that day will be above 10000.

Hi Skaiya, just relax, its clear that ur sister is trying to sabotage ur weight loss plan , well, if u allow her to have her way( i mean if u eat pizza and junk food as she wants u to eat) trust me she will be first one to say how people should have will power, how loosing weight requires lot of determination,blah, blah............

just ignore her and carry on with ur plan, once u have reached ur goal weight u too can give ur sister  piece of  ur mind by saying how easy ur weight loss journey was, how u never felt like giving up anything, i m sure it will be a perfect reply on her face. Till then just relax and ignore her, we all r with u ,we all know giivng up the food we love is not easy, finally  we all know how hard u r trying .Best of luck.Just stay focussed.

Mephyle, i just loved ur comments and i agree with u, during cold weather we tend to eat a lot, mostly comfort food, last year i gained nearly 20lb courtesy eating comfort food and no exercise, well this year it  is going to be different.I live in Canada ,its freezer on earth.

 i too live in canada, ON, do  u have aeropostale shop, i got really cool skinny flare jeans in $ 20, there is also forever 21, Blue Note and Urban Behaviour which has the same price, quality is also quite good, u can try in any mall , i m sure u can find these outlets,

thanks for ur reply, i hope my body will adjust fast, its good to learn that in winter or two my body will adjust, today, in the morning it was around 3 degrees centigrades, everone was going around as if its was 20 not 3, while i was wearing my heavy duty winter jacket and fleece mittens, this cold is driving me crazy

hello Dayners, i live in richmond hill,ON, can u tell what diet modifications u made , like now a days my body is constantly craving for cheese.

pl to all of if u could tell me, if u made diet modifications, if made it ,what was it ??? did u increase ur milk consumption , or fats consumption or protiens.
