Daleenas, congratulations!!

I'd suggest a high protein diet, with carbs limited to lots of good veggies like broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, and fruits to include apples.  If you can get a good protein powder to make a smoothie for one of your meals a day, that would be good too.  And limit your fats to olive oil, avocados, nuts like almonds (limited amounts!).  It's basically the Zone Diet, which I'm finding to be fantastic for cutting down the cravings and desire to eat too much which happens when you're eating too many sugars, fats, and simple carbs.  (IN other words, don't just restrict calories; instead, keep your calorie count low but with a good balance of proteins, non-animal fats, and complex carbs (those veggies and fruits).

A GREAT breakfast is steel-cut oatmeal with protein powder and fruit like blueberries or strawberries.

Good luck!!!

Joyce

This is fantastic, especially that you did this with steady diet and exercise and not through a short-term fixit that will fall apart later.  Good for you!!! And Congratulations!

Good luck tomorrow.  Just remember, his behavior is inappopriate, especially in front of company.  Tell him he is supposed to SUPPORT you in life, not put you down and discourage or embarrass you.

You are 5'4" and 125 and the heaviest in your family??  I would say you may need to give them some suggestions about how to gain a pound or two themselves.  They just might be underweight.  I'm sure you are just fine exactly as you are.  Your dad is acting very immature, as well as just plain mean.  This is not loving fatherly behavior, in fact it's abusive, and it would be appropriate for you to tell him so.  He is acting like an idiot, shame on him.
