My doc put me on 3 different birth control pills in a 6 month timeframe because I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and insulin resistance. I had a period (or breakthrough bleeding) for 3 months. It may be different for you, but my doc told me that the longer you go skipping the inert pills, the more chance you will have of mid-cycle bleeding. |

During the first year or so of your period, it can be very irregular, and either losing too much weight or gaining too much weight can affect your cycle. However, for your peace of mind talk to your doctor. The internet is a valuable source of information, but the doctor can answer your questions without scaring the daylights out of you. |
