Close to it. My doctor said for my size I would need a BMI of under 24, I think that is over 24. Maybe not overwight but close.

Weight Loss Set Body Weight? Oct 13 2009

I'm just under 5'5 so I say I'm 5'5. 129lbs. That was the weight I was before I was put on meds that made me put on a lot of weight. I am having trouble getting below this. I have a small frame so I probably should go below this but my body wont let me, I'll probably only lose more weight if I stick to this for a few more weeks. I would want to be 120, possibly less (if wrist measurement = frame, I have a TINY frame.)

Weight Loss If you were a doctor dealing with an overweight child... Oct 12 2009

Original Post by crazydiamondchrysalis:

I think they should tell both the child and the parents. Then the doctor, parent and child tackle the issue TOGETHER so the child sees how it will work and is empowered, not scared.

You can't just drop a bomb like that and then leave it to be.

Yeah, when they said it to me the first time, my parents weren't even in the room. I felt scared...  I don't think they meant to scare me. Plus they were rude if I remember, they just said "Stop snacking." and moved on, and got all worried about my cholesterol, claiming I 'wanted' it tested, when I didn't.... and they didn't test it.

I still don't know what I would do. I wouldn't want to create body image issues in the child. Maybe I would talk to the parent in private.

(sorry that I bumped this...)

I don't know if my stomach shrank or something, I just eat very little and get full, except after school where I do feed very hungry. I am not super active, though I move around a lot at school. My medications, the one I WAS on made me in a constant state of starvation AND slowed my metabolism, making me gain 20+lbs in 3 weeks. (I was only on it for that long) I am on some pills now that don't effect appetite. I am out of the house most of the day and not in places where I can eat often. Anyway (today, ate 2 packets apple slices, cheerios 1% milk, 1 fiber 1 bar, 1 small can V8, and for dinner 8 veggie nuggets and veggie chile. Altogether.... uhh, only 1,000 calories... I will eat something else tonight)

I eat a really healthy diet that isn't high in calories any way. I mostly eat soy, yogurt, cereal, and drink ALMOST only water and milk. I will have juice occasionally but not very often. I cut out soda completely.

But, did I lose weight unhealthily fast? I weighed 156 June 22 and weigh 134 a few days ago (period and such, don't weigh during it). I went from a size 10-12 to a size 4-5, or a loose 6 in that time.

Thank you. :)

Though I almsot don't want to eat the foods I enjoy any more. I eliminated the following from my diet, and I just have no appetite for them exept in small, low fat potions I can find.

Pasta

Pizza

Soda (including diet)

I haven't eaten any meat for years

Don't eat MOST cheese any way

I have been eating between 1,200-1,600 calories a day (accidenlty went over or under a few days)

I don't even have much of an appetite recently. All I ate today was cheerios with 1% milk, greek yogurt (eek 12g fat... 250cal) I probably am going to lose more weight anyway because I just have no appetite!

I was just wondering.

Weight Loss Size 8-10.... not normal? :( Jul 16 2009

I feel fat already :( and this just added onto it. They are not the only person, about 75% of the many comments on this are calling this actress fat when she isn't, but that one comment felt hurtful to me because that is the size I wear. I know they are just a random person on the internet but it still hurt my self esteem a bit. If she isn't 'normal' in some people's eyes for wearing a size 8, wouldn't that mean I wouldn't be too? I just really didn't like reading this.

Yes! I am a vegetarian and I will have weird dreams where I eat giant racks ofribs, hamburgers, hot dogs, anything you can imagine, forgetting that I don't eat it and then feeling weird about it for the remainder of the dream. I don't get it...Undecided

hello, my name is christa, i wanna lose 27 pounds, i know this was a long time ago you did this, but are you still intrested? or any other girls intrested? i am 5'8 and weigh 127, im 14 years old.

Umm, not minding the fact that this is an old topic, you would be well under 20lbs underweight if you lost that much! Your weight is perfect. If you have flab, just do some exercises to tone that up . :)

Weight Loss Weight in the past affecting future health? Jul 06 2009
19:40 (UTC)

I don't like bumping but I want to know the answer to this... I looked up some things myself and it said type 2 diabetes, hardening of the arteries, and higher fat cell production... I REALLY don't want to be at risk for these things, but am I? I weigh as much as I did in 6th grade and I'm going into 11th so I am not nearly as big even though I am trying to lose a bit... Thanks. :)

I think I should give myself come credit. We had a Fourth of July FEAST at my house, but I successfully avoided cupcakes, pizza, ice cream, candy and other junk. Didn't take one bite even though I was oh so tempted, and I stayed withen my limit. :)

Weight Loss The somewhat minor annoyances of being overweight -- what are yours? Jul 04 2009

Simply, guilt and paranoia.

Guilt that eating in public will get you funny looks. When I was 165lbs or so, I would screen the area for people I know, then eat safely. If somebody I know then were to walk by, I would HIDE! Sounds illy, but it was stressful for me.

Paranoia that your friends look down on you because of your weight. This bothered me, way back into 3rd grade, I still remember going swimming for a friend's birthday party, and I had no fun because I just kept myself wrapped in a towl the whole time.

I never take vitamins because vegetarian ones are extremely rare, it seems. Also avoid vitamins with "Magnesium stearate", it is derived from beef. That is also found in some hard candies, tic tacs, lifesavers, etc.

Thank you. :) You helped out. But what scale should I follow, the one that says 156 or the one that says 144? I put 144 in to make me feel better about myself, andf that means I AM at a healthy weight, is it was 156, that means I would be overweight. Which one is accurate?

Use your accurate weight so that you can get an accurate measure. That way you can have a true goal you are aiming for. It feels nice to hide from the #'s.... but they don't lie.

I felt the lower one was more accurate though because I had no cloths on and I hadn't eaten. I thought a TWELVE pound difference between the doctors scale and my home scale is a little innacurate... could I put 150, the middle number? :(
