Weight Loss Another Tall Club- 5'9" + 50-70 pounds to lose (Now ANY amount to lose) Aug 04 2009

I am on vacation now with my father so I was kinda worried that my weight would ballon. Thankfully me and him seem to be on the same dieting page. Anyways today he revealed that he brought the scales from home and thought I should step on to see how I'm doing (he didn't tell me that he had brought it before because he dislikes that I weigh everyday)

174! :D YAY!

I'm officially the lowest I've ever been!!!! I'm so excited!

The best thing is I'm starting to lose from my hips and thighs :D! I've always been extremely pear saped (to the point of my rips and collarbone being visable but my legs and butt barely squeezing into a size 14/15!) I did snatch a pair of my mom's super tight 13s to keep me motivated while I'm on vacation and am currently wearing them :D

The one thing I dislike the most about dieting with my father is the fact he always 'celibrates' when he loses weight by preparing a meal that blows the diet. Case in point: cheeseburgers, french fries, and a can of pop...

I had the willpower to eat some fish instead but man do I want that burger now :(! I will prevail though, I really want to lose at least 8 more lbs by Thanksgiving (I think it'll be October 12th this year in canada) to be prepared for the splurges that come with it.

I went to see my family doctor last week and he told me the reason I was having so much trouble losing was that I was stuck on the one diet (low cal/low fat) and usually doing the same exercises. So now he's making me reduce my carbs to about 60-80 per day and got me using weights and swimming and so far its been great.

Anyways :D hope everyone else is doing well.

Foods Has anyone else here tried to go vegetarian but failed? Jul 18 2009

I failed too don't worry Wink

I actually started it when my friend's pet bunny had been killed and eaten by an angry neighbour. It kind of was a 'omg what have I been doing? I'm just like him' thing.

I lasted almost 2 months before breaking down and having chicken.

I try to avoid eatting pork or bacon because of the fact pigs are intelligent, but from the way I look at it, fish are pretty stupid creatures so its not that bad eating them. I mean, humans are omnivores so although I personally support people going vegetarian, I believe we are designed to want to eat meat because it usually is the easiest way to get a lot of nutrients our body needs.

Also many benefical things (like fish oil) can only be obtained from the death of an animal.

The way I see it is: IF the animal did not go through pain, and the animal wasn't intelligent then you are justified in eating it. Bunnies are the exception though. They are too cute to eat.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone with that last paragraph.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I kept getting horrible split shifts at work and barely had the time to update my food logs.

I switched my workout routine from walking/jogging to using a Wii fit (Tongue out please don't judge me) since my shift manager seems to think that every nice day we get, I should spend cleaning bathrooms, tables, etc. Also, my inner 'clock' seems to be working three hours late now since I keep having to eat at odd hours (aka getting a shift from 11-3 means eating breakfast at 10, then lunch at three and supper at 7 or 8). I also am tying to eat less bread and more veggies.

And now finally I've dropped below 180! Laughing Today I weighed in at 179.5 :D. I'm down a total of 3.5 since I joined 16 days ago!

Hopefully I'll be able to keep it up and be slim for when I start university Wink from what I've seen there are a LOT of cute guys there for me to choose from.

Good luck everyone for not gaining over the weekend (And hopefully being down on Monday Cool

hello

I weighed myself today and found out that I lost almost one whole pound today. :D This is a big deal to me because despite my constant dieting, I couldn't drop below 183 until now! :D

I only have 22.1 pounds left to go

I'm currently working at a fast food joint (Wendys) and am happy to report I have not eaten any of it. I think my mom missed the point of it though, because as a reward she made me her ultra-calorie, fat filled homemade mac n cheese. Also my dog just developed arithitis so she's not going to be able to go for walks and jogs for a while...

That pound will be back I just know it :(

Weight Loss Does the weather affect weight? Jul 02 2009

yes. Or at least it does according to what I remember from High School Bio last year.

the first reason why weather affects weight is that your metabolism speeds up during the winter to produce more heat. During the summer it slows down to 'cool off'.

The second reason why it does is due to water retention (as a lot of people have posted)

I think there is a third reason involving hormones but I can't remember what it was.

Hope that helps
