Weight Loss When do people notice? Aug 28 2007

HI,

Its weird b/c i had the same issue... I worked really hard and lost 25 lbs and no one noticed!!! Maybe b/c most of my friends/ coworkers/ family see me so much. But for some reason when i got to 30 I get comments everyday! Its crazy that the 1st 25 lbs made no difference but 5 more and people think i look great. I think they notice when you get to a healthy, fit weight!

Good luck,

Remember its a SLOW process if you want it to LAST!,

Weight Loss Question for the Women Aug 27 2007

I'm so glad you brought this up! I thought that exercising/ dieting could cause your period to be lighter for if youre unhealthy about it to stop...

But The same thing happened to me last month... I had a week and 1/2 period and then one more in 2 weeks...just as long!

I wonder why this happens?

Anyone know?

I have had this happen before but i'd say you should try to be really careful. Sounds like the beginning signs of an eatting disorder. Remind your self the good things the food you ate is going to do for your body. And that being full of healthy food will help you lose weight! Try to fix this thought process before it becomes a problem.

Thanks for the honest,

I'm sure most of us have felt that a little,

Ali

Motivation What is your favorite body part? Aug 23 2007

This may sound crazy... but after reading the guys post about how he loves his.....

I have to say my favorite body part is my vagina! I think its pretty. It can be a great source of pleasure.

Ever since seeing the vagina monologes I realized i was taking it for granted!

Plus they don't get out of shape/fat...and i don't have to worry about getting it tone...so thats nice :)

And...hopefully someday it will help me have a baby...pretty amazing!

Weight Loss college grads! Aug 17 2007

Yep... the freshmen 15 can be a myth. BUT... in HS i was a gymnasts and stopped right before college. I had always eattin whatever I wanted and stayed then b/c i worked out 12 + hours a week. I didn't change my eatting habits. Yet, i did change my drinking habits. Maybe b/c i was in the gym so much i didn't have my first beer until college. Combination of beer and quiting gymnastics helped me put on the freshmen 20 and the college 40.

I have recently lost about 25 lbs of the weight I gained in college and even tho i'm not in grad school I think that getting out of the campus life makes it a lot easier to be healthy.

I have some trouble staying motivated to work out. I haven't found any type of exercise i can really get into. I hate running. I can get myself to do the elliptical or some weights but i'm just really not excited about it. Any suggestions?

GOOD luck to everybody whos trying to lose that college weight! Thanks for the great post...nice to know i wa sn't the only one :)

Lonepirate,

you are doing a great job w/ your diet so far! I love the idea that Christine gave to roast your veggies. I wanted to add something to it b/c i'm not a big fan of veggies either. If you put eggplant and mushrooms in the mix it seems more filling and has a more meaty texture. I can even get my boyfriend to eat it! :)

Also, When i need a quick snack i microwave a veggie burger w/ jalopenos and cheese...its about 180 calories and pretty healthy especially if its soy.

Good luck,

Ali

PS.... i wish my problem was not eatting enough.... I had cookies for breakfast! Theres one other opinion ...maybe you could dip them in your guiness :) hehe

Health & Support I'm comfortable, but my parents think I'm too thin. Aug 15 2007

If you are happy with the way you look and feel healthy inside and out that is an amazing thing! Your parents are great for advice but if they are still concerned yet you feel you are OKAY... go to a DOCTOR. That way you can get an educated and unbias opinion about your weight. I know that sounds really scary...but you may find it helpful and it could give your a lot of relief. Or...if you are still too thin for your body type you will know how to change in a healthy way... gaining muscle so u won't feel pudgy? DO you play sports? Maybe focusing more on what your body is capable of doing (hitting a homerun, doing a roundoff, swimming across the pool) would help you look at your body in way positive way, not just as a number on the scale.

Good luck,

ali
