Well Time for another friday check in. Not really comforting.

Starting Weight:200
Last Week: 198
Low Point This Week: 197
Weight This Morning: 198

I did my best to get closer to a proper balance between intake and burning and I went nowhere.  I did some weight training (20 minutes minimum) 4 out of 7 days. I had good balance on my pie charts.  Hopefully my body starts reacting this week.

i don't see how i can consume 1500 calories a day, and only burn 600 calories and still lose weight?  am i supposed to do 2 hours on the elliptical to actually lose weight?

You're only counting exercise calories.  Don't forget what the others have said already.  You body will burn 1000-1200 um-odd calories alone during the day without exercise.  So what you're really doing is burning off 1800 calories or maybe more, i'm not sure.  But it sounds like what you'd be doing with 1500 should be pretty okay.

Oh darnit, I am like the only one that has never been anywhere but the US... I feel to miserable right now... :( :)

Says the girl who lived in the Caribbean.  Besides, the US is a big place with tons of stuff to see.  SO if you say you've only been to the US you could've seen so many different things.

As for me, I've lived in New England all my life and I plan on staying.  I love it.  I've been to France, NYC, Montana/Wyoming, Florida, and I've driven the whole eastern seaboard of the US but I wouldn't count it as having visited the places.  In 5 months I'll be in St. Lucia.   And sometime next year I'll be going out to St.Paul to visit my friend.

My mother had to go into the hospital and get a blood transfusion because of iron deficiency.  Now she has to take iron supplements every day.

Please do try to keep on top of the vitamins and minerals you need.  Have some spinich or at least take a daily vitamin.

My fiancee and I are trying to lose too.  My mother and sister were up last week and they brought cookies and such for a party.  After the party we sent them home with the left over cookies.  They totally understand.  In fact when my sister bakes(she's amazing) my mom tells her to bring it to work so the people at her job can eat it instead of having it in the house.  It may seem like a waste of food, but in the end someone does appreciate it.

Eugh... were all pullin' for you.  Some people are just happy makin' others not happy.

My boss's wife had surgery and when she got out she was out and about shopping and going to dinner with her friends and if you asked him how she was doin' doing he'd put and a drawn out face and sigh saying "we'll see, we'll just have to take it one day at a time." and so on.

Some people just get a kick out of making others feel bad.

Welcome Arisena.  I've only been here a week but the people here are great.  I'm getting married in october so I'm here to slim down to something that I should be.

Anyway, I get the most motivation out of this site from the little chart that tracks your weight.  I really really love seeing that downward trend.  It's like physical(because you can't always see it on yourself right away) proof that what you're doing is working!

How about sitting down on the site here in the morning and working out a food schedule for the day?  That's what I'm doing and I'm sticking to it.  I tell myself, scrambled eggs for breakfast, some chicken for dinner, this and that, oh and i can manage to fit in a little bit of candy too and still be in the calorie range.  And always check out that graph.  I look at it every morning and say, "i want to see that line move!"

I love salmon.  I love the taste of the flesh itself so I usually don't want to over power it.  What I do is buy a pound of fresh salmon and put a light coating of 'wishbone just 2 good italian dressing' on top.  Then I bake it on my stoneware at 350 for about 25 minutes or so.  Plate it up with a bit of rice and a bunch of asparagus.  Good to go!

Okay, another question.  I know there are tons of people here.  How accurate are the activity calories burn numbers.  For example, I'm a pharmacy technician and I am on my feet 12 hours straight on fridays.  Now, I labeled that as

"Standing; Light - Bartending, Store Clerk, Assembling, Filing, Duplicating, Putting Up a Christmas Tree, Standing and Talking At Work, Changing Clothes When Teaching Physical Education"

It says that I burned 2,504 calories just at work.  Is this reasonable and accurate?  Also on top of that I have another 12 hours left that gets labeled as "Normal Calorie Expenditure" which tacks on another 1,088 calories burned.  Does this sound normal?

Hey everyone, just found the site yesterday after saying to myself that I really need to buckle down and take care of myself.  I'm going to post here on fridays too.  I'm looking to get from 200 down to 160 by sept/oct for my wedding.  After that i'm looking to go to 140ish.  So i'm doing a net loss of 60.

Today's wieght: 199.
