I think its a way for people who choose the ana lifestyle to suport each other.

EDIT: When I say choose, I mean someone who isnt ready to recover, not someone who wants to be anorexic. Wanted to clear that up.

I love slimfast! I get the generic Wal Mart version, though :)

It has tons of vitamins and it makes a great meal replacment if you are in a hurry or on the road. I love them for breakfast or a snack.

I have experianced so many benifits already!!! I'm excited, so I thought I would share some of the things I have noticed.

  • I can breath SO much better! I can't explain the difference, it's amazing!
  • I can run longer, work out harder and acctually play with the kids without running out of breath. And when I do run out of breath, it's not the old weezing gasping I was used to!
  • My skin looks much better. Acne has cleared up, my eyes don't have those dark circles, it's wonderful!
  • I don't stink! For the first time in A LONG TIME I can acctually smell other people who smoke. No offense if you do, but boy does it stink!
  • I can taste EVERYTHING better!
These are just some things I noticed that motivate me daily to keep going!

From_Flab, I'm really glad to hear you don't smoke! Thank you for stopping by with kind words and support!

I did it everyday. A pop tart, Ice cream, pizza, whatever. I had to have it or I felt deprived. It didn't hinder me at all. I stayed right on track and met my goal.

In my defense I don't always eat this way, but tonight is my daughters Fall Festival so I wont have time to cook.

Please post if you are:

  1. Female and eating 1200 or more calories a day or male and eating 1500 or more calories a day (or eating fewer but doing so under a doctor's care)
  2. Have been losing weight
Although I don't think it was right to make fun of your reading skills, the post does clearly ask for a certain type of person to post. Your post was an unessasary addition to something it didn't apply to.

We don't bash others ideas. It's just that weight loss is a science. It's not a gimick to make money. You don't have to be hungry all the time. You don't have to be limited to one type of food. HK's post is only informing those interested in losing on a FREE, NON STARVATION, NON SINGLE FOOD way.

While it may apear that others ways are being bashed, coments are only made because we have educated ourselves. We understand the devistating effects of "diets", of starvation, or deprivation. Most of us are living proof, because we have had great sucsess in not only losing the weight, but KEEPING it off.

Keeping it off is the key. You can lose all the weight you want. You can lose 100 lbs by eating 400 calories a day. But if you do that, eventiually you will have to either continue to eat that way for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE or up those cals and gain weight. So many people are looking for a quick fix, so many people get ripped off, because they don't focus on the long term. Quick fixes will give you results. But they wont work in the long term.

That is a stumper of a question.

Can I ask how you eliminated water retention and muscle??

800 cals a day is not a good idea. Rapid weight loss is NOT healthy weight loss. OH, and losing that fast? You are more likley to gain it back, have streached skin, streach marks, oh and let's not forget the negitive effects to your health.

I'm sorry, but I don't find your post motivating. I find it sad. I'm not even going to congragulate you because it was unnessasary torture of your body. You only get one, why abuse it?

Also, I don't like the fact that someone like ruthie there is asking how she can do that. Ruthie, 30 lbs in five months is healthy and something to be proud of. Don't be jealous of someone who starved themself thin.

EDIT: Ok, I stand by what I said. But I realize that it came off a bit strong and harsh. It occurs to me that you didn't realize the damage you were doing to yourself. I didn't mean to make it sound like you were the eating disorder welcome wagon.

You want to lose 24 lbs??? News flash, it wont come if you're overeating and under working out!

It's super that you feel good about yourself, that's awsome! Wont you feel better if you can stay disiplined and reach that goal that is staring you in the face everytime you log in?

Go on a get it, girl. Only you can do it.

Fitness stamina Oct 20 2006

Nothings wrong with you, hun. You said it yourself, it's stamina. You just need to build it back up and that takes time. Also, having a child takes a lot out of you. Being mommy takes a lot of energy, especially to an infant. AND your body is recovering from the trama of birth and pregers. Give it time and keep at it! You'll do fine.
Weight Loss How do you know when your body is in the famine mode? Oct 20 2006
01:37 (UTC)
We can do a great deal of damage to our bodies and not even realize it. It's good that you are aware of a problem. Try to work on getting more calories in. Losing weight at too fast of a rate is not only unhealthy but also makes it more likley to gain the weight back in the long run. It's never to late to remedy a problem! And the body is amazingly resilient, sometimes we can recover from the damage.

WOOT to Saro! I had pizza  A LOT and still managed to lose over twenty pounds. A CALORIE IS A CALORIE. Yes, yes, some calories are better FOR you, bla bla bla, and it's always a good idea to make healthy choices, but that dosnt change the fact that a calorie is a calorie. Try to boost your cals. I PROMISE that it wont hurt your progress.

My doctor told me that normally, you can attribute a gain of no more than 5 lbs. And he also said that the five pounds are mostly water retention. (No fat gain) I think a lot of people use it as an excuse. I'm not saying that to offend anyone, I did it myself. After the depo, I was twenty pounds heavier, and didn't want to face that it wasn't the shot that made me gain. EVERYONE told me I was gonna gain, so I guess I used it as a crutch. I'm sure that this is not always the case though, just my experiance with it.

Weight Loss Special K Challenge Oct 19 2006

LOL @ nirvrush! 3 muskaters diet??? Sign me up!

But you're right. You could eat anything, ANYTHING with the same amount of cals as a bowl of Special K and still lose weight.

I usually eat it twice a day. Once for breakfast and then again for a snack. When I was trying to lose (Im at goal now) I always had a nice sandwitch or something for lunch. i would always end up eating the ceral after lunch.

You really don't get enough calories if you only eat ceral. Its all about balance and I really don't think the Special K diet can offer that.

That said, I'm sure it works. If you stick to it. But, I couldnt do it. I gotta have some MEAT at lunch time!!! :)

Now, I'm off to stock up on candy bars... :)

Good for you Seashel! You can do it!!!

Weight gain is.... no fun. But it was worth it to me. I gained about 10lbs in about a month! Oh, the shame!!! But, I've managed to lose about 5 of them and get back to a healthy weight. (130 lbs for a 5' 6'' chick isnt too shabby, right???) :)

Jennelaw, you can do it too! I know its hard when your hubby smokes, mine will be home soon, puffing away. Yikes! And you have a good point of view on it, you gotta stay alive, right?

Escobar, Its hard, but you can manage. If you quit for six months already, you already know you can do it. Set a date and get to work!!!
