| I checked out the yogurt today, a lot of them use fruit pectin instead of gelatin, so yogurt is still safe, just read the label carefully. | |||

| So sad, same thing happened to me a few months ago. There are a few yogurts that are ok. Try greek yogurt, or soy yogurt if you are vegan. It is indeed a sad, sad thing to lose the light n fit, cause it tastes so good and so low in cals. | |||

| I have 6 cats & 3 dogs, I feel ya on the pet hair thing, I have hair rollers everywhere I go, found the best brand (stickiest) is Evercare. I buy them at Target, they come in multi packs with little mini ones included so they fit in your purse or are great in the car. | |||

| Fitness | Toes fall asleep on elliptical | Sep 02 2006 04:57 (UTC) |

| I have had this problem forever (as long as I have been exercising anyway) it is because I have high arches, happens on the stairmaster, elliptical, anything weight bearing. The only thing that helps me is to take my shoes off, sounds weird (took my trainer awhile to get used to it), but it does work, allows sufficient circulation to my toes so they do not feel numb or cold anymore! :-) Be careful not to slip, but leave your socks on, cause who knows who has been on that elliptical before you. | |||

| I eat about 2 apples a day, and I always get A's, it is true you need to balance your day with multiple foods, one food will not be balanced. I am just trying to find a good reason for the B for apples, thats all, just does not make sense. Of course apples are all carbs/sugar, it is fruit, but so are strawberries and oranges? | |||

| OK, I hear you, but still, to rate a processed food higher than a natural food, I also do not buy the "sugar" thing. I eat tons of fruit, therefore tons of sugar, but I do not worry about it, I worry about the processed sugar that horrid white stuff. Your brain needs sugar to function and "natural" sugars are the way to go.
There are other fruits that rate an "A" but are high in sugar, strawberries, oranges, peaches, bananas get an A-, so, I still do not understand the Apple thing :-) |

| They call those cows "downers" sometimes they fall off the druck, sometimes they are not dead, just suffering and they get trampled while being loaded and unloaded, pretty awful suffering for those animals. | |||

| I am trying to figure out my camera so I can upload pics of this cutie. He is a 10 day old 3lb Duroc pig (yes, the kind used for pork), the cutest little playful thing, thought my dog was his mommy. Kept me from 2 nights of sleep but how many people get to sleep on their couch with a baby pig? | |||

| charlie, I think I entered everything myself, if it is not grading it for you, you may have left something out. I have it tagged now. Sometimes when I do not enter the grams it will not grade, try double checking your entry. | |||

| Try Thomas English Muffins, Light MultiGrain, they were my crutch to get past too many bad carbs, I am not sure (do not remember ingredients) but they are whole grain, 100 cals, and taste pretty good. Also La Tortilla Factory whole grain (or whole wheat?) tortillas (think that is what they are called?) they are fab and satisfy the carb cravings. CC rates them an A. | |||

| Me too, get confused with tempeh and seitan, always think they are the same but I do not like tempeh and I love seitan. To make it more confusing restaurants like to call it gluten, just to keep us on our toes.
Had the greatest Thai green curry with seitan the other day, very yummy, love Thai food and this turned out to be not too bad nutritionally. YEAH Thai food!!!!!!! |

| Vegetarian | Help with dairy | Aug 21 2006 20:48 (UTC) |

| There are a couple brands I like, I do not really consider them "replacement" because nothing can replace the flavor of dairy, but they do satisfy the sweet and creamy craving.
I have not found a cheese that I like, but both Tofutti and Rice Dream make some pretty good "Ice Cream's" or Frozen bars, so I agree with Shannon whole heartedly. Tofutti cuties are the best, I prefer Vanilla :-) |

Just wanted to make sure I was not alone in the CC Sea. |

| I think you may need to eat a little more (up cals) with all your exercising. You can give your metabolism a little jump start, and you won't be hungry as much. Maybe eat more on your heavy exercise days and cut cals on your off days, that hopefully will give your metabolism the jump it needs, it might also be a bit easier on you with the no smoking (GREAT for you, by the way). | |||
| Weight Loss | Maintaining | Aug 17 2006 21:27 (UTC) |

| I've been maintaining for about 2 mos, it was a strange adjustment to make. Finally I have figured out that I need to still apply the techniques I used while losing weight, but eat more of those healthy things to up the cals. I also let my self splurge a little on the things that really make me happy (pizza), every once in awhile, which I didn't do while trying to loose weight.
I think adjusting to maintaining is just as difficult as when you first start dieting, but eventually you will get the hang of it. P.S. have you checked out the Maintaining forum? |
