Penny - It may also be that you are gaining muscle and your body is just balancing itself. Given all the weight lifting you are doing I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. You should see if you can get your bodyfat measured at your gym, that way even if you don't lose weight you can know if you are loosing fat and gaining muscle. Good luck with the nutritionist.

Joy - thanks for the greetings. And congrats on the compliments and getting back in the gym. I love working out, but for some reason I am never consistent unless I'm in a class. Most weeks I workout at least 3 times, but sometimes its 5 or 4. My old PT used to get on me about being more consistent in my workouts. Ah well, as long as I manage 3 days I don't beat myself up too much. Luna - It sounds like you are doing great. And you know if add in a bit of exercise even if you hit your maintenance calories some days you should stay on track. I always ignore that calorie coach...I have know idea what gets a thumbs up or thumbs down. Just stay focused on your small goals and you will do wonderfully. Penny - what does that mean you lifted 5200 pounds? When you add up all your reps and sets with different exercises you lifted 5200 pounds? Sounds amazing! I had friends over this Sunday for brunch and I was very proud that every single item I prepared was healthy. I got most of the recipes from the Ellie Krieger cookbook, you all should check it out if you enjoy cooking and are looking for healthy recipes. She also has recipes on the Food Network site. French toast bake with whole wheat bread, egg whites, and peaches was a bit hit with my friends. It is so good to know I can have folks over, have yummy food, and not over indulge. Well, I hope everyone enjoys the rest of the week. Kat |

Hi all, I know you all have been going strong for awhile, but I saw this forum and knew it was for me. At my heaviest I was 190 pounds and a couple of years ago I got down to 165 (size 10 US) and felt great. I want to lose another 5 or 10 pounds, but am so happy with myself...I certainly don't want to be skinny. I love my curves. This seems like such a positive and motivational forum. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Kat |

momof2, Thanks for the info. That sounds awesome. 500 calories...crazy! I'm definitely going to look into it. I did the second day of this strength/cardio circuit for FITNESS and it was hard, better than Tuesday. I'm suppose to do it 3x/week so hopefully I will be even better on Saturday. If I don't lose a pound I should have buns of steel at the end of the 4 weeks with all the lunges/kicks/jumping rope/etc.... And sending positive thoughts for you and your mom. |

hello everyone! Ladyelizabeth, thanks for the welcome and congrats on the weight loss Momof2, good luck with the weight lifting. I love lifting free weights--its cardio I hate. Is JM the woman from the Biggest Loser? Let me know how you like it. I'm looking to get some dvds for when I don't want to go to the gym. I did a cardio/strength training circuit from Fitness magazine yesterday. It was killer! I was panting and sweating halfway threw. And this morning muscles were aching I forgot I had, but I'm going to do it again tomorrow. No pain, no gain they say. I hope everyone has a great week. K

hi momof2, I'm just counting calories and trying to get to the gym as often as possible. With work craziness it is hard to get to the gym, but so far so good. I'm actually about to go squeeze in a workout now. I'm sorry to hear about your mom also. Just like newlook08 my mom is a breast cancer survivor also. I know how scary and crazy it can be, ditto on the keep smiling. I actually ran a 5k last month to raise money for breast cancer research and that partly motivated me to get back on a regular workout routine.

Hi everyone, Looks like you all have been going strong for awhile. I hope its not to late to join. A couple of years ago I started out at 190 pounds and lost 25 pounds. I was able to maintain at 165 for over a year, but recently with work stress and just not working out consistently I've gained 10 pounds. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale and it said 175(yikes). So, I'm looking for motivation to lose the 10 again and lose the last 10 I never got around to. I'm 5'7'' single 30-something SW: 175 GW: 150-155
