I would try a good estimate based on a similar activity that is shown in the database.  Essentially, all you are logging is calories burned, the database is too simple to give you credit for any additional benifits you might gain from having a "Better" workout.    If you can run for 30 minutes and get your heart going about the same as your HIIT workout, then log 30 minutes of running.

Calories burned in a workout is really hard to determine as there are tons of factors that are difficult to take into account.

Ultimatly,   Cutting calories will be more effective in losing weight than additional workouts,  but there are many benifits to having a toned body.

Foods Does cooking effect calorie amount? Sep 18 2009

Strictly speaking,  the number of Calories in food do not change when you cook it.  HOWEVER:  Cooking will change how much energy your body expends digesting the food, and also, how much of the energy the body receives from the food.     This is a significant effect that is not taken into account when counting calories.   If you want to lose more weight while eating the same number of calories,  try to eat more raw food,  and don't cut it up or grind it up as much.

Here is an interesting article on the subject:

I still believe that you have to track & restrict all your calories,  but keep in mind that better food choices also help.

PS:  Diet soft drinks don't help weight loss
