I want to lean towards the last one, I have been counting calories and I eat about 1350-1600 depending on if I workout or not (eating more on days I work out) My hubby says i look like i am losing weight but i am such a visual person I need to see it in numbers. Oh well I have to be patient I guess. Once again thanks for the advice. :-) |

| ever since i started eating healthy (2 years ago) I do pay more attention to what others eat..i went to eat a mexican resturant with my hubby and noticed how everyones plates were loaded up with all kinds of fried foods...i felt cheated because it all looked so good...here i was ordering 2 shrimp tacos with just onions and tomatoes and allowed myself to snack on some of the tortilla chips with salsa i looked at my hubby and said this isnt fair...why arent they worried about what they eat they all look so content...but yes i do feel like its os unfair but just recently i had a physical and my cholestrol is the best my doc has seen in a long time (according to my doc) and he said my BP is great and I am in tip top health! I owe it to exercise and eating better! :-) | |||

| thanks guys...it's just so frustrating gaining weight after you just took it off...
i'm eating about 1500-1800 calories a day...i do 20 minutes of cardio and about 40 minutes of weight training. My goal weight is 140 but i will take anything in the 140's at this point...i used to want to go down to 135 but i think that number sounds impossible but 140 sounds better even though its only a five pound difference...lol |

| We almost have the same stats except i've gained 15 pounds in the past 6 months....I just wrote an entry about my situation but im going to keep an eye on yours too because I feel pretty hopeless myself. I'm in school too but im off for the summer. KIT let me know how it works out for you..do you mind if i add you as a friend?
As for increasing those calories question...I've heard that increasing the calories in good even if you do it all at once but regarless how you do it you will have a small weight gain but it should come off right away...(this is what I heard) Sorry i couldnt give you better advise |

| I am in the middle of a plateau its been about 7 months! PLUS i gained about 10 pounds since november (i had my gallbladder taken out) they told me i am retaining major water weight but now i have kidney stones and i feel like this plateau cant be broken because i stopped working out and with trying to pass kidney stones working out isnt very comfortable!
Okay sorry i went on a rant! BUT i guess what im trying to say is that dont worry about a 2 week plateau, it happens. We will break through it! it helps to read about others plateuas to help keep our heads up! :-) |

| I remember when i first started taking the pill that happened to me...but your body will ajust give a little more time I know it sucks getting your period like that...in the mean time you are right to go get checked by a Doc. I'm on that seasonal pill, I only get my period 4 times a year which is awesome....but every so often I get it in between. | |||

| thank you....i'm trying not to panic...lol....I just came from grocery shopping and bought lots of fruits and veggies and muti vitamins and fish oil pills....i hope it helps me recover faster and aid with my my bodys new way of digestion. but thank you for putting comfort to mind. ;-) | |||

| OMG! i have never heard of eating a spoon with butter! but then again i remember when i was a kid i used to eat about 5 pieces of toast with butter AND sugar on it!
my hubby like to eat saltines with butter on it...lol (just thought i'd throw that in) |

| I'm mad because going back to school is hard when you have 4 kids! Oh and I'm also mad because I failed 2 tests last week even after studing my but off! and finally I'm mad because I went to the dr. Sat because i wasn't feeling well and found out i have bronchoitis and couldnt study anything because i felt like crap. | |||

| when i first started here i would cheat on the weekends....i still lost weight doing so...but now i just have cheat meals.....like having pizza for dinner once a week. It helps cut my cravings for certain fatty foods. :-) | |||

| it's good to hear me and hubby bought the regular abs diet...i'm getting the womens one when we are done reading the regular one....but the little i read was very inofrmative...really doesnt sound like a diet...it sounds more like an educational process for a healthier way of eating....thanks for the info! | |||

| I lost most of my weight without counting carbs but i did hit a plateua once i got closer to my goal...i cut my carb intake from 180-200 to 50 and broke my plateau I'm 20 pounds away frpm my goal! but then I brough it back up to 100-115 in carbs givng myself some low carb days and some high carb days, but not to high max 150carbs. I think cutting carbs only works if you cut out the bad carbs though...i still eat my fruits and veggies, and i still eat oatmeal, I limit my pasta intake and bread intake.

| what i mean by toning is adding a little more muscle to them..."muscle tone" Muscle tone in my opinion makes legs look thinner, more firmer. | |||

| i agree with trustwomen. But you know what yuo can do is maybe do some squats, lounges, stairclimbing...all fairly easy and tone up your thighs really nice! Whats really cool about these exercises is that they can be done anywhere! | |||

| From what've learned you cannot lose weight in just area....everyone is different and will lose weight evenly or some may have problem areas....but in my opinion i think the best thing to do is work everything out. But what you can do is tone your thighs...try lounges, squats, running tones your legs too.
Stick to it, you'll see a difference |

| welcome to CC txaggie! I joined a year ago this month and lost almost 50 pounds in doing so! This place is awesome....when people ask me how i lost weight so fast i sound like a CC spokesperson...lol....but You can most defintly do this! Once again welcome.
As for the pregnancy comments...last year in april i had my daugter but during my pregnancy i noticed alot of people avoided asking me about my pregnancy....i think it's because i gained alot of weight so it was hard to tell if it was pregnancy or weight gain..lol...but i wanted people to ask...so it made me feel like people just assumed i was just gaining a rapid amount of weight! I gained 70lbs total so it was a combination of it..lol..I never ask people though if they are pregnant and now that i'm not pregnant I know why people avoided asking me and i'm glad people were thoughtful enough not to. |

| I tried low carbing (50grams a day) but it was to difficult....i was at over 200 carbs before....but i did learn to cut my carbs down now i usually eat about 100-120 carbs and it got me out of my plateau...I dont avoid carbs just like everyone else said...just gotta make sure I eat the good stuff....so i guess what worked for me was just cutting down on carbs. | |||

| Dont feel helpless 11 pounds is not alot...you acknowledged the weight gain....thats good....now stop take a deep breath and start fresh. Don't feel like you are helpless...the mind is a powerful thing...try telling yourself instead that it's not helpless and that you can do this...because you can...you had lost 30 pounds at one point didnt you??? I weighed in at 207 a year ago...i'm at 160 now....i was very depressed too....coming here and reading and learning helped alot. I also read health magazines, health books, learned how to cook healthier....I'm going to add you as a friend....im not sure if you write in your journal here but that helped me alot too! Writing down how you feel on a daily basis is essential! But please dont give up! | |||
