They said on the show last night that you can go to the website www.tlc.com/thin for more information. You may even be able to watch last night's show online, I don't know. I haven't checked it out. The show will be on next Sunday at 9/8 central on TLC again. It will be the new episode where they teach us how to combat emotional eating.

I have to say that I wanted a snack this afternoon and I went to eat some Red Vines and I normally would eat like a dozen but even though I wasn't totally concentrating on what I was eating I still only ate like 4. I think it's even made a difference in myself even without taking total time to sit down and pay complete attention. It's so awesome.

Yes, I watched the show last night. I have to say that at first I thought it was going to be kind of a crock but when I sat down and looked at those rules, it makes so much sense.

We all know (at least most) of these things but we don't put them together. I'm going to try it. I think it might make a big difference for both me and hubby.

As far at some of the others' comments. I think that our tastes will change. When I first started on c-c, I cut out all fast food for like a month and then had a McDonalds hamburger. It was disgusting. Tasted like salt. If we really have to taste what's in our mouth then I think it will change what we eat. Plus I think he's teaching us to listen to our bodies and I think our bodies are pretty smart. They will tell us (if we will listen) what we should eat and how much. As far as the woman with the macaroni and cheese; I think he was proving that if you listened you would stop. After watching it, I was hungry for mac and cheese and so, I had some but followed his methods. I made one of those single-serving microwave things which I can easily eat all in one sitting. I ate not even a third of it last night. Then today I warmed the leftovers up for lunch. I didn't even finish it and that was one serving. I mean, I know I can normally eat that easily (and more) in one sitting.

I guess I didn't even notice that he called people fat but the honest truth is that people are fat (as hard as it is for me to hear, I know I am at least). He also didn't blame it on Americans only or on us. He explained what we were doing wrong and tried to help. I liked the show a lot and I'm excited to see about the stopping emotional eating.

I think it can make a really big difference for me and hubby.

Okay, I totally don't feel like a freak now. I sometimes just wander through the stationery departments of stores and end up buying more pens and notebooks and pencils than I will ever use.

I love them all! I always have a fully stocked desk both at home and at work.

I haven't worked at Starbucks but I worked at a local coffee house and I would say the biggest thing for your first job is get very comfortable shoes (trust me, you will thank me later) and be friendly and outgoing to the customers. Especially if you have regulars, get to know them a bit. They love it if you can ask about their kids, wives, etc. (They may tip better too!)

Hmm, let's see. Other than lakes what do we have? A lot of mosquitos? Too much hotdish?

Prince is from Minnesota. Does that count?

Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be Canadian. Just have to learn a new National Anthem. And possibly another language.

I'm not really with it this morning. I woke up early from a nightmare which is not helping the nervousness about having my gallbladder out tomorrow!

I don't know about the health effects of green tea. I told my doctor about my green tea supplements I was taking and she said I should just be cautious of overly high blood pressure from it.

I would like to say though that Bigelow makes a green Mint tea that makes an excellent iced tea for the summer. It has some of it's own natural sweetness too so you may not feel you even need sweetener.

avant, that's hilarious.

I was once babysitting and I took the kids to see a movie. We are sitting in the movie theater and it's totally quiet because it was a sad part of the movie. All of a sudden. The little boy, who was I think 5 at the time, farts and says, really loudly; I HAVE TO GO POOP! I could have melted into the floor. Thank goodness it was a kids movie and so all kids and parents who had probably heard it all before.

That's so great. I'm glad that you are getting noticed. Sometimes it's so much harder for us to see the changes in us because we are with each other every day.

Keep up the good work :)

hmm, I leave and the conversation turns to sex. All is normal with the world.

by the way hk, my hubby doesn't like porn either. I have never seen it, but he said some guys in his dorm in college would watch it. It just seemed unnatural. I think it sounds icky and I think it's better to keep some things private. This doesn't stop me from reading sex tips in women's magazines though.

This is so true salome. So many people take care of their everything better than they take care of themselves. Like their families and their friends. Sometimes you need to step back and be a bit selfish and take care of yourself.

United,
Thank you so much for this positive post (except the part about the chip, eep, scary). I really like everyone's answers too. I really loved the community here when I first started and I definately think that was a big reason why I stayed. I think if I were to come into this community now, I don't know if I would stay. It's sometimes fun and interesting but so many people are unhealthy too. It is very hard to see. I hope that some people will notice that they aren't doing the right things for their health before they ruin their bodies.

To me, this way of life needs to last the rest of my life, so I need to make it manageable and I need to work hard to also fit it into my life no matter what the occasion.

Thanks again hun.

wow, I leave for lunch and the conversation gets interesting. I may have to pitch the idea of strip D&D to my hubby. Except of course that would be an at-home game.

Tonight we are off to a friend's house to play normal D&D. It should be interesting and the only tough part is avoiding all the fattening snacks.

It's almost set up like a d&d story. A girl finds out she is a sorceress and sets off on adventure.

My husband read my outline the other night and he's really excited to read it.

hey.

HK, my novel is a fantasy story. It's going really well. It kinda creeps me out how easily it seems to be flowing from my brain onto the page. Either it's good and I was meant to write, or it's awful and I will have to face the truth later. Either way, by it going so well, I think I am setting myself up for some serious writer's block later in the month.

When I read I kinda lose myself in the story and my brain is there, instead of wherever I am. People usually have to call me more than once to get me to pay attention. It's the same way with this story. I feel like I am there and suddenly the phone rings, that I have to answer, and brings me back to reality and I realize that I have written the whole thing.

okay, hk I read your question and you pose an interesting thought in my head.

I personally believe that there is a heaven and a hell and that what happens to the soul after your life will depend on the person you were and the way you lived your life. This line becomes somewhat skewed when it comes to ghosts because as I said, I believe in them and I think that they are not necessarily evil entities so I don't believe they are demons but I don't know what they are. I guess that while I have my beliefs, I also have some questions about how things work according to my beliefs. The stuff about ghosts creeping me out, makes me kinda avoid trying to look into this further, but yet I would like to know. I don't think any of us will really know until we die though and of course as avant said, then it's too late to share.

I really need to get back to work, but I will try to check in again later. You can leave a comment in my j too Hk if you'd like.

These are some very interesting philosophical questions that we will not know the answers to until we are done on this earth.

HK, out of curiosity, what do you believe happens to us when we die then and also, do you believe in the soul?

This can be for anyone else too.

Hiya all. I am back from lunch. I'm hoping to get back to writing real quick. I just wanted to say a couple of things about your convo.

1. I definately believe in ghosts. Having the family that I do and the experiences we all have had I know that there is a supernatural. I don't really understand it and it kinda freaks me out, so I don't want to push the envelope a lot on it. I am curious but I figure, I will find out if I am meant to. Meanwhile don't push places you weren't meant to.

2. I believe there is a heaven, but I don't know what to think about where it is. The idea that it is a parallel universe would make sense. HK if you think of it as that we live in an imperfect but not entirely "evil" place and then there is the Perfect place (heaven) and the "evil" place (hell) both as parallel universes does that unwrinkle your brain a bit? Hmm, I will think about this later.
