Weight Loss Who Here Doesn't Count Their Calories? (Gym & Food) Nov 30 2007

I do not count calories or journal.  I have made a small few changes over the course of 4 months and average losing 1lb/wk.  I wake up at 5:45 am and either walk the dog for 45minutes or do exercises at home.  I tape Margaret Richard's Body Electric and also do 20min of Gillad.  These are a good mix of cardio, strength training and floor exercises.  I have lost 15 lbs and my clothes are looser.  I make sure I eat fruits, green veggies, high fiber grains daily.  I also started eating every 3 hours and that really helps the cravings.

Sample day:

Breakfast

Kashi go lean & Kashi hearts cereal mixed- 1 cup

1 C skim milk

1/2 of banana

Snack:

Dannon light blueberry yogurt

1/2 cup mixed frozen blueberries & 4 frozen strawberries

Lunch:

Whole Grain Tortilla

2 slices Turkey breast

Letuce & spinach leaves mixed

1/2 red tomatoe & 1/3 sliced Cucumber

10 grapes

Snack:

Homemade low cal Banana bread (140 cal)-recipe from Denise Austins book-Eat Carbs Lose Weight

Dinner:

Talapia- palm size- lightly breaded and oven baked

Mix green beans, cauliflower, diced yams- tossed 1 Tbsp Olive oil and oven baked at 400 for 20 min.

I love Ice Tea too.  I take a Lemon Ice Tea Crystal Light packet to work with me everyday and after lunch I mix it in my water bottle and it tastes just like I am having dessert.  At home I make a 2 quart container to have, when I am watered out and had. I think it tastes better then the fast food chains version of Sweet Tea.

I read if you want to use splenda to replace the sugar that you should not use all Splenda.  Try 1/2 sugar & 1/2 Splenda.

Wow.  This group sure has grown.  It is so nice to see we have so many friends struggling for the same goals.  Well I blew it over the weekend.  I dropped to 141 on Friday morning and now I am back at 144.  We had an event we had to sponsor on Friday night, So I had done alot of baking.  The worst was I made a new recipe that tastes just like Reeses Peanut butter cups.  Well I did not stop at one.  Today is much better.  We went to the gym and I walked on the treadmill for 1 hour at 3.5 miles.  I had 2 Reeses PB homemade treats and a healthy choice frozen meal for dinner.  I can't figure out why I sabbatoged the whole weekened.  Tomorrow is another day.  Lets all make good choices.

I agree with you.  I too go on the scale several times aday and look at my pie chart to see what I can eat.  So far I haven't lost any true weight.  I have been down 2 lbs then back up.  It is really frustrating.  I decided today to limit my carbs and raise my calories up to a max of 1400.  I hope this works.

I also want to thank cheatingirl for her journals they are inspiring.  Do you think we can be buddies?

I only eat 1.  But I have been to the same Mc Donalds on average 1 to 2 times a week before I joined this forum.  I figured I could count this as a dairy item.  Each time I have gone their the size of the cone is different.

Weight Loss Frustrated!! Jun 20 2006
16:03 (UTC)
I am also fairly new to the group and can relate to all of you.  I also weigh myself everyday and am frustrated with the scale.  I have been exercising on average 3 days a week on the Eliptical trainer for 45 minutes, burning 318 calories.  My total average is around 1300 calories, this does not include the calories burned. ? Am I suppose to add the calories burned in my daily consumption.

Thanks,

Timbergrove

Thanks for your input.  How long have you been with this site?  Also how often are you working out and what types of exercises do you do?  Do you have a sample of a daily journal to help guide me?  I hope you have a great day and keep up the good work.
