I LOVE LOVE LOVE avocados!!

I allow for it in my calories a lot.  I usually make guacamole with an avocado, crushed tomatoes, garlic, cayenne paper and a little salt........makes a great treat, and is so much healthier than so many snacks out there.

Plus as the pp said, it gives you a lot of benefits.....my hair has never been so shiny!

I used to be a really big binger.  I used to do pretty good all day, and then BAM, I'd eat anything I could get my hands on.  Now, I schedule everything ahead of time, I try to occupy myself with scrapbooking, reading anything that keeps my mind away from food.  Just take it one step at a time.  Change 1 thing, then it won't be so overwhelming.  Maybe, get rid of the chips in your house.  Or choose a salad instead of that burger.  The point I'm getting at is that the little changes matter.  And they aren't so overwhelming.  One step at a time girl.........
And btw, I'll be here to talk anytime if you need it K?

All I can say is, I absolutly know where you're comming from.  As far as my journey is concerned, I tried a lot of things for years, and one day I just had enough and decided to do anything I had to.  I guess that was my a-ha moment.  The thing is, you can't tell anyone exactly how to overcome these feelings, it has to come from inside yourself.  I would love to help you, but you have to really feel it.  That's not to say you can't have slip ups, everyone does.  Don't get down on yourself.  I think you have already had that a-ha moment, because you're not giving up.  I always gave up before.  Just keep positive, and keep trying.
My advice, talk to people that understand.  Vent to people you feel safe with and people that will help push you when you need it, and give you a shoulder when you need it too.
Did any of that make sense to you?  So many thoughts were going through my head at the same time!
~Take care!

The best thing for me is a good long talk with my BFF!  Working out, bubble baths, massages, walks, pampering myself (doing my hair, nails etc.), reading, shoping (I've never spent as much as I have while losing weight!), and just doing things I love esp. playing around with photoshop!

So what if people want to share their opinion about the guy, why can't people say they dislike or like the guy???  What's wrong with having an opinion??  And btw, you're doing what you are all upset about, you told us your opinion too.

I think Dr. Phil gives people a much needed kick in the a$$. His book saved my marriage.  I would never talk badly about the man who made me take a real hard look at myself and make me a better person.

A healthy range of weight for your height is between about 131 and 159.  Don't let those numbers scare you, you're a tall girl.

Great job on gaining 7 pounds!

Are you under the care of a doctor?  We don't want anything to happen to you!  Take care!

I can relate too.  I was a few, maybe 15 or 20 lbs overweight untill I was about 14.  I did the wrong thing.  I crash dieted for about a week and lost 20lbs.  I messed up my metabolism, and with anything I ate after that I would gain weight.  I'm 25 now and I think it's  finally regulated again (with a lot of work).  Please, please talk to your doctor.  Let them know your concerns.  Talk to your good friends for support.  Girls need the support of their close friends, they need to feel accepted.  I also think you sound like a perfect weight.  Take care of your body ~ you only get one!

~Andypandy:  I tried to leave a not in your journal but found you don't have one, My name is Andrea too and for as long as I can remember, people (especially my dad) have called me andypandy!!!  Too funny!

So here's what I think.  I tried to grow my hair out for years. Then I realized that it never would grow, because I always wore ponytails!  I didn't have split ends and I got my hair trimmed, but I didn't realize that it was pulling it out from the roots!  So I just stopped wearing ponytails (which now sure takes a lot more work that just putting it up!)

Thank you guys for all your support.
~Slappy:  I was on Alese for about a month.  I was on it for years before with no complications other than irregular bleeding.  I had my second child in Jan 2006 and was on a progesterone only pill for a year before I switched back.  I think my body chemistry must have altered and didn't tolerate Alese this time.  I know it is a relatively low estrogen dose in Alese, but my body might not be able to handle it at all.

I'm so sorry that some of you have gone through rough times as well.  I'm not very happy to hear that some instances were worse than mine.  I can't imagine going through something worse.  Thank you for sharing.

This is why I think it is so important for people to know what can happen.  I was very lucky that there was no lasting dammage from what I went through.
Thanks again for the support.

Advice ~ Don't let the little hairs in the sink bug you too much, make him clean up too, make time for yourself, let him have time to himself, leave nice little love notes on the mirror when he takes a shower, and the good 'ol favorite, don't go to bed angry.

Have fun, and make sure you unpack all the important things, men never know where to put anything!!! just jokes, it'll be so much fun.  You'll remember your first night in your new appartment for a long time!

Thank you ladyvropa and newveggie.  I just can't imagine not sharing my experience to let others know what symptoms to look out for.  I just want people to know that it can happen to healthy women under 35 who don't smoke.  Ravenlark, I never said it will happen.  I never said anything about being an MD, or that people shouldn't use birth control pills, I just want people to be aware.  If you don't want to hear it, don't read these posts.  Some people want to know the risks along with the benifits to make an informed decision.  You are obviously not the audience I am speaking to, so please keep your nose out of it if you have nothing constructive to say.

You are absolutly right!  That's precicely the reason I posted here today.  I want to help make women more aware of what we put in our bodies.  I know I wasn't aware enough, didn't question it enough, and look where it got me.  It is our responsibility to look out for ourselves, and I too think doctors shoud make us more aware, but ultimately it is our decision if we put it into our bodies.  We can't afford to go on blind faith of what others think is best for us, even doctors.  We need to educate ourselves and know all the potential risks.  Thank you for your comments.

Oh and Ravenlark,   I am 25, healthy, non-smoker, have always had low blood pressure, healthy weight and I don't appreciate you minimalizing this.  THIS IS SERIOUS!  Why shouldn't people know the risks?  Believe what you want, but don't stop us from spreading information that may potentially save peoples lives!

You people are the reason I don't like the forums!

I just wanted to say, I'm affected too.  I just posted something very similar today.  I am 25 years old and I had a TIA yesterday.  A mini stroke.  I can't believe doctors don't tell us about all the risks.  You just think of them as a reliatively safe means of contraception.

I was on Alese for  a couple years, had a baby, went back on it to switch to marvelon, then had #2, went on micronor for a year and switched back to alese, and exactly one pack later this happened.  I'm glad there are others out there getting this information out, because I'm not sure the doctors will.

I only know for me, I am a slightly larger than average frame, and I have decided to shoot for 160 (give or take a few, depending on what I look like then).  I'm at 170 now and have no muscle, but once I tone up I think I will look much better.  I know I would look too skinny at even 140.  I carry the majority of my weight on my hips, so my chest looks terribly scrawny even at 160.  I'm hoping after I gain some muscle on top it will look a little healthier.
Fitness Working on a c-section stomach/question about anemia? Dec 23 2006

I don't really have any advice for you on the anemia issue, but I tried to leave a message in your journal, and found out you don't have one.  My Daughter was born on January 16th, and with my son who was born in 2003, I had similar curcumstances.  Not an emergency c section, but after his birth I almost bled to death and had a blood transfusion, and emergency surgery.  Ever since then I have been anemic.  If I don't take iron, I get very faint and dizzy.  I have cold sweats and am always tired.  I'll be watching this thread for advice too!

I feel you on the stomach, granted mine is probably not the exact same as yours, but I was left with rather saggy stretched out skin after birth.  I just recently decided to not hate it anymore.  It is something that will always remind me that I got to carry my prescious angels in my stomach.  It was really hard to accept it.  It's not very pleasing to the eyes, but I would never go back in time and not have my children.  I earned it.

I'm gonna add you as a friend ok?

I KNOW the lemon water works!  One day I just wanted to have a refreshing drink so I put some real lemon in a glass of water with some artificial sweetner, and needless to say things were moving!  Just be careful to not try too many of these ideas at once, we don't want you to get killer cramps!
