Pregnancy & Parenting Exercise while pregnant? Jun 03 2009

I'm also pregnant with my first.  I was a HUGE runner, but since I had a miscarriage one month prior to this pregnancy I stopped.  My OB said that whatever you were doing before your pregnancy you could continue.  Now is not the time to start any thing you were not conditioned to do already.  I believe prenatal yoga classes/dvds are fine and swimming is great.  Hope that helps.  Also, walking you can start anytime.  I've been walking 4 miles (1hr) 6 days a week along with lighter weights then I used to do.  :)  Hope this helps a bit.

Pregnancy & Parenting How can I get pregnant if Im overweight? Jan 24 2009

I would get a second opnion. I'm sure loosing a bit of weight wouldn't hurt, just to have you the healthiest you can be in order to carry a healthy pregnancy and keep you happy as well.  Maybe that is what she was meaning??  I've been trying for almost 48 months (4years) and am not overweight....so to say that weight is the reason....I think not.  Hang in there!!

Pregnancy & Parenting I really want to be a mom... Jan 20 2009

I'm going to go with something totally different.  My hubby was the same way years ago when we were in our 20s.  When I was twenty five we weren't married.  He wasn't ready, but I was.  Needless to say, we held off until I was 27 to get married and till he was ready.  We tried to concieve for a year and figured we needed to get checked out.  Well with all that time that past we found out once you pass the age of 25 your chances of conceiving goes down 25% and then after 30 it goes down even more.  Here I am at age 34 and still no baby.  I've give everyone the same advice.  Odds are in your favor at a younger age for being baby ready and if you can....concieve and have your baby earlier than trying later.  That seems to be the reason why so many women have to turn to invitro and medications to have their babies...they are waiting too long.  There are so many twins now a days due to this.  I wish you the best!!

When they check for your FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and it isn't high then that means you probably have plenty of eggs left :).  There are however many other reasons that could be preventing conceiving other than your FSH.  When it's high it's an indication that you may have less eggs that is why your FSH is high.....your body is working harder to produce that egg.  You are only born with a certain amount. Hope that helps!

Sorry to hear about your negative results.  Please hang in there....God is in control.

I recently had done IVF twice in 8 months with no positive outcome.  It's been almost 3 months and I'm finally over it.  I've given it to God and am trying to just go back and enjoy the person I used to be before all this ttc stuff.  Mind you it's been going on for 3 years of trying hard.  Hang in there.  Love the little one you got now and enjoy being a Mother.

Hi all....I am new at posting, but a long time member.

Any way here are my stats and my tests.  Me 33 and DH 36.  We started ttc over 3years ago this past March.  After almost 8 months with no luck my OBGYN  did testing which was blood work on cycle day 3 of your menstrual period to check for your FSH levels and if I was ovulating.  My test were normal, so she wanted to check DH sperm count and his was normal out of the 3 things they check. We had to pay our copays and about $120 for the Semen test.  I believe your regular Ob can give you a RX if your test comes back showing you are not ovulating (most popular one is Clomid).  Fast forward another 8 months or so.....I called her and she gave me a referral to see a Reproductive Endcronologist (sp).  Now he did a ton of blood work (more intense) along with STD testing (which come to find out is a lot of reason for infertility) and another test to check to compare DH SA from his first test.  Well, my FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) came back a bit high.  They like to see 12 and under and mine was 16 :(  He suggested that the best way to get pregnant is with invitro due to my FSH which indicates my body is working too hard to produce an egg.  Needless to say we dove into that two times within 8 months with no luck...not pregnant and devastated both times.  We are praying for a miracle from God and a "free" natural baby.  Our insurance didn't cover any of the RE dr. or the invitro so out of pocket it was almost $30 grand.  Mind you I'm also not over weight and am in top physical condition.  Hope this helps a bit.

Weight Loss How do you weigh yourselves? Sep 12 2006

I try not to weigh myself but once every other week.  I do it first thing in the morning before getting dressed.  Do yourself a favor and pick a time & day and stick to it.  I do believe if you weigh yourself later during the day or after you eat you will see different weights due to water retention, full tummy, clothes on.  Not much..but some.  I don't really think that jewlrey matters.  Hope this gives you some help.  I know that once I moved my scale out of my sight and not seeing it day in day out, it made it much easier.  I go by the way my clothes fit and then I weight in twice a month.  Take care!  :-)
