Just got this from Claire's family:

"They're going to probably keep her for a few more days while she's on heart medication.  I'll update more tomorrow after Sarah see's her in the afternoon."

Got this message from Claire's Son-in-law on FB: Rob Acuna November 15 at 7:02am She is doing better, still feeling very tired though. They are probably gonna keep her until monday then if all looks well she'll be able to head back home. She has been in normal sinus rythym so her heart has reacted well to the medicine. We're going up to see her now, if anything changes I'll let you know.

It isn't the calories in the bananas you have to watch, but the rate in which they turn to sugar in your blood stream.  The way to counter act that is make sure you eat a protein with the banana to slow down the glycemic index.  The ones eating bananas and PB together have the perfect combination.

When I was first dianosed with diabetes, I steered clear of bananas, but now I just eat a protein with them and enjoy the flavor and nutritional benefits.  No one should ever do without good nutrition just because of a bunch of hype based on only 1/2 truths.

That's why I like the logging tool on nurtimirror, you can weigh your food enter any measurement (cup, ounce, gram, etc.) and the tool will calculate it correctly for you.  I weigh everything as well, but I use ounces.

Good luck,

EXACTLY!!! rachd.  I never said I was found as unfit.  In fact a person who headed a rescue program asked me to apply for a rescue dog, but the paperwork and hoops were worse than we had to go through to adopt a human child.  It is the breed rescue and their rules and hoops that made us look elsewhere.

Jules, pardon, me, but it sure looks and feels like you are attacking me and you don't even know the reasons that went into my deciding on the breed I got.  This dog will be worked and shown in several classes and have the love and care beyond reproach.

That's not what I said.  I said that the dogs purchased from the puppy mills were unknowingly done.  The two I have now were from farmers doing responsibile breeding.  If you had seen the dogs collected from the recent local puppy mill raids you would know why I poste this.

Actually, no, this time I don't need a dog for herding, but I am one of those idoits you mentioned that was not willing to settle for another breed.

Well, my last 4 dogs (including my new puppy) were purchased.

  • The first two were unknowingly puppy mills; one was purchased for me as a gift by my son from a friend and one I thought I had found a reputable breeder only to find out otherwise with a lot of heartbreak.
  • My two herding dogs were purchased from farms and from responsible breeding programs.
  • I would have adopted had I been able to.
  • I don't know how it is other places, but when trying to adopt from a breed rescue it was harder to do than adopt a human baby.  This was not only my experience, but several others I know.  Not to mention that it would have cost more than purchasing the two babies put together.
  •  When I was a kid and we needed a herding dog, we found a farmer who had a pup and they gave it to us.  We never bought dogs and we always had the best.
  • I sure hope they change the laws so these puppy mills are done away with permanently.
  • There have been several puppy mill raids here in Washington State in the past several weeks.  That is what brought this poem up, it was posted on Craig's list and I had to share.

I have been told that there is enough "good" cholesterol in the whites to counter act the "bad" in the yolks.

My eating plan calls for two eggs with veggies for breakfast.  My mid-morning snack is a shake and I have to eat on the way to work (half hour after meds) so I have my mid-morning first and my eggs for my mid-morning.  It works pretty good.

I have this wonderful little counter top oven I got online (GT Xpress 101) I use to make my eggs and veggies.  I use 1 cup mixed veggies (mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, asparagras, onions, etc along with ground flax seed) and two eggs.  Put 1/2 cup veggies in each "bin" of the oven and pour whipped eggs over.  Totally love it.  It is the only healthy thing my hubby will eat.

Igor,

Looks to me like there were better options.

  1. Delete the inflamatory posts only.
  2. Freeze the thread so no more comments could be made, but was still there for information.

Kipp,

I saw your original thread and didn't see anything wrong with it.  I don't participate in the chats due to no time and mostly I feel the are for the younger folks.  Truthfully, I don't understand a lot of what they are saying.

All that said, I don't see any reason your thread should have been deleted.  Obviously, you stepped on some toes and they were the wrong ones.

Hang in there and keep pressing for answers and justice.
The Lounge How old were you when you had your first child? Jun 21 2007

I was 18 when I had my first, 20 when I had my second, 23 when I had my 3rd and 24 when I had my 4th (4 in 6 years).  It is not what I would recommend for most people, but I had such a burning desire to be a mommy that just would not go away.

Had I not my kids early, I would never had any except by adoption as I started early menopause @ age 26.  I would never have attempted having kids during menopause.

My oldest daughter had her first @ 20 and her second @ 23.  Her third was her X's "boo-boo" and she got him to raise @ age 3.  It also is a good thing she had her kids early as she had cancer @ age 34.

My youngest daughter was almost 30 when she had her 1st.

You really can't go by what someone or and average of people have done.  It is totally individual-by-individual.  The main thing is that it is the burning desire of your heart and you have done all the running, etc. that you want to do 'cause a baby changes your life forever.

Do NOT have a child until it is your burning heart's desire.  Having kids just to have kids just isn't right.  Not all people are cut out to be parents.  And to quote my 22 year-old granddaughter, "At 22 I am bearly able to take care of myself and know what I need.  I sure don't need the responsibility of a husband AND a baby."  She is not an immature girl, she is in a long term relationship has one degree (graduated high school @16/college @ 19) and has a very responsible full-time job as a dental assistant.  Although, she loves her job it is a means to an end as she plans to work as a dental assistant another year or so, then go back to school to be a hygenist.  After that, she says she will "MAYBE" think about marriage and babies.  And again, be sure that it is the total desire of your heart before having a child.

Hearing that my daughter had stage 4 breast cancer and had only 6 months to live.  That was in 1998 and she is still alive and cancer free today.

I so love her; she is my hero.

gypsierose - No, they didn't get married, but it was Christine that got cold feet.  Not telling anymore, you need to watch it for yourself.  But, remember, it was a depressing finale.

kellygreen - Not sure where the George thing is going to go.  While it is true he flunked out, there is all the triangle mess going on with him in the middle.

I forsee a lot of changes in the fall and looking forward to where it is going to take us.

Fish - I, too, liked his character, but not what I had heard about remarks he had made off camera.  Based on the comments and backwash, plus the season finale, I expected this is what would happen.

Pooh - I agree, it was a depressing finale.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the show next season.

I have been scarred all my life by verbal abuse from my mother.  I firmly believe verbal abuse is often times worse than physical.  Children did not ask to be here, their parents brought them into this world and therefore are responsible to protect them (as much as is in their power) from all hurts in life.  To be subjected to abuse of any type by your own parent is more than a person should be expected to endure.

My daughter does theraputic foster care and gets the worst of the worst.  You would not believe what damaged verbal abuse can cause.  There is no excuse, I don't care what anyone says.  If you can't control yourself and your mouth, walk out of the room/situation until you can.
