| You are always going to have stress in your life. You've got to learn how to deal with it without usuing food or alcohol. It's going to be tough. But look at far you've come! Don't let a little stress ruin all you've worked so hard to achieve!
We are here for you! (I really think I should be looking a mirror when saying that) .Maria. |

| Ok, this may not be the advice you want to hear. But ... why not give into the craving? I've had cravings that won't go away. I try to ignore them for DAYS!!! And they won't go away until I finally cave in. As long as you don't over do it, all is well.

| Hey everyone! Looks like I've missed a lot! Lol. Eventually I'll have a computer at my house and I can keep in constant contact and may even get into the "stalker" mode. Lol.
Glad to see people succeeding! :) So yesterday I was in a love/hate thing with myself. Nothing too bad. But it did give me the balls to try on those size 13 jeans in my closest that I have yet to fit into. I put one leg in, then the other. Then I pulled them up. I buttoned and zipped them w.little problem. Can we say stoked here?!?! I looked in the mirror and I had a HUGE smile on my face. I can't officially wear them yet because there is still the "muffin top" issue. Ok, I'm not worried about a little MT. But this was bad. Like, if I wore these jeans out in public people would look at me and be like "Maria, don't you think you should wear clothes your own size?" Lol. I figure if I keep on losing I should be able to wear them by the end of the month! Good luck to everyone with this weekend! :) .Maria. |

| Tomorrow is weight in day. Ugh. I haven't been able to work out all week because of these freakin' stitches. But I'm going to do it tonight. I want to see if I can. They are coming out Wed and I really want to work out. I just don't think I can go too hard. But something is better than nothing, right?
Hope everyone had a great 4th! .Maria. |

| I haven't worked out all this week. I'm a little hesitant to because of these flippin' stitches. But tonight I'm going to try. I weigh in tomorrow so I know it's not going to do too much good for this weeks weight loss. But I hate not being able to work out! Have ya ever noticed that when you can't do it, that's when you want to the most? Lol.
Could have done better eating yesterday, but oh well. Can't complain cuz if I was really that concerned about it, I would have eaten different. Lol. Hope everyone had a great 4th!!! .Maria. |

| It's so great to see so many new people here! Just goes to show we're not alone! Lol.
My calories have been good these past few days. I didn't work out yesterday (see journal for the fun filled story). I'm def getting on my treadmill tonight though! Even if it's an ez work out. I just need to get into the habit of actually doing it! I've gotta be SUPER good this week to make up for Friday! Lol. printfan: I haven't tried that kind of stuff. So I'm really no help. Lol. |

At least in my book. So it counts. Lol. Congrats rach_kett!!! I stepped on the scale this morning. Still at 170. Ok, a one week platue isn't bad. Especially considering how horrible I was this week. But I did get on my treadmill this morning and burned 460 calories! My goal mini goal is to lose 20 lbs by the end of August. I can totally do this! Anyone else have any "by the end of August" goals? I'm on myspace ... you can search me by my e-mail address. Geisha.runner@gmail.com Hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday! .Maria. |

| Ok ... had the last two days off w.no internet. Gotta play catch up!
STATS: I'm 23. I topped out at 210lb in '06. Last weeks weigh in was 170lb. Want to get back down to 120lb. I haven't had kids yet, so I think my high school weight is totally reachable! I'm also trying to workout every day and get back into runner. Yup, cross country and track runner. Lol. figurethefat maybe while you're cooking dinner, have a weight in your hand to do arm curls or something while in between tasks? Just a thought! TGIF! |

| Welcome yokyok and jerseyjen!
I've been really bad this week. It's hubby's last week home for the summer (he works at a summer camp and stays up there). So as of tonight, I will only see him Saturday nights - Sunday mornings until mid August. So of course we've been doing a lot of stuff and getting fast food. Ick. I try to be good, but it's just not fair when he's stuffing his face with a Baconator from Wendy's! *grumble* That's ok though. Cuz now that he won't be home ... I can stuff the house full of fruit and veggies! And not have evil food (aka - his food) around! So hopefully my weight loss will get better! TGIF!!! .Maria. |

| Great job K! Every pound adds up!
losing_w8: I used to have the same problems. Well, I do get them, but not as often or as bad. What I do is eat about 1/2 of my calories during breakfast and lunch. Then the rest are for dinner. That way I can have a big meal and still be w.in my goal. Hope this helps! |

| Welcome Kat! I find CC's calculators very accurate. But to be sure I checked with two others sites. CC tells me I burn 1900 calories a day doing my normal (no exercise) day. The other websites told me 1982 and 1541. The later one didn't take into account how much movement you do during the day (apparently I burn 1541 calories if I slept all day). The healthy site may be going on older information as well. Like when you look at food labels, it's all based on a 2000 calorie diet. Well, back when all that happened, Americans were moving alot more than they do now. mor125: I def find motivation rough too. You've just gotta be determined. My biggest issue is I hate having to explain myself to people about why I'm doing things (like turning down dessert). Tues night was one of those nights (full story in my journal). I hate when I "go with the flow." It makes me feel horrible. I've got to keep that in mind that "If I stick to my healthy lifestyle, I will feel so much better about myself." Dessert tricks: Skinny Cow! I <3 their fudge pops! 50 cals/peice. So you can have two and be ok! The other thing I'm trying is at the store they sell mini-Ben and Jerry's. Like 200 calorie ones ... spoon included! We'll see how it goes. Ice pops work too. But sometimes you want something creamy! What if we e-mailed eachother every day on what we eat, do for exercise, and thoughts (both good and bad) to help motivate eachother? Happy Thursday! .Maria. |

| That's the best attitude to have! I fell off the CC wagon and lost all motivation. Thankfully I was able to maintain my weight while I gave up on the whole weight loss crusade. But now I'm back and ready for a change! I def need people to motivate me and keep my butt in line! Lol.
Talking a dr is a good idea. I really should do that too! |

| Motivation | What was your moment? | Jun 17 2008 16:47 (UTC) |

| My moment was 2 years ago. My cousin had brought a new scale because she wanted to drop a few lbs. So she weighted herself and I decided for fun, I would jump on. I about died at the number! 208!!! I started walking and counting calories. I'm down 50 lbs and have 55 more to go! I graduated high school at 120 lbs (5 yrs ago). So I had gained all that weight in a matter of 3 yrs! I knew it was time for a change!
I can't wait until I can fit into my old clothes again! |
