I miss being able to eat what I wanted without thinking about it.  I seem to fit the saying a minute on the lips, a lifetime on the hips.  I never used to be that way.

I'm in my forties and I want to lose 25 more pounds.  We have a lot of the same interests so I think we could be buddies and I really need a weight loss buddy right now to help keep me on track.  I'll add you to my friend list.

Hi Natasha,

Welcome to the site. You will find a lot of info here. I find that everything tastes better if it is extremely cold. Put your ensure plus in the freezer for a while and make it slush. It may taste better.

You have to do what is right for you.  If you don't think you'll like the way you look then take a break for a little bit.  My boyfriend was worried when I started to lose weight because the boobs are usually the first to go.  He has gotten used to them being a bit smaller.  I also think there are some exercises you can do to help define the muscles in the butt area so it looks more shapely.  It's worth looking up.

I don't know.  Stress does the opposite for me.  When I feel frazzled I usually don't think of food.  Maybe you can take some carrot sticks or some of the 100 cal packs to munch on those frazzled days.

I don't believe it's ever too late to get healthy.  You just have to want it, and want it for the right reasons.  It sounds like you do.  Just keep plugging away chatty and it will happen.

Friday weigh-ins are good for me too, so count me in.  Top weight was 185, I'm now at 171.5.  My goal is 135, and my mini goal is 165 by the end of the year.

Hi chattykacky,  I feel the same way about this site.  Another thing I love about it is the fact it is so easy to get back on track with if you get frustrated and leave for a bit.  I am proud of you for being able to stop at 6 - sometimes that is not so easy to do.  And it is really cool to know that you can still have some treats and lose weight.  You don't have to say no to it forever.  I still eat what I want, I just log it and either exercise more or give something else up.  Hope you are feeling better than yesterday.

Glad you're back athompson and good to see that you are doing so well.  Sometimes I don't think its a bad thing to fall off the wagon - it shocks your body and gives you a much needed break.  As long as it doesn't result in a massive weight gain I think it's fine.  I'm still holding at 171 - okay actually 171.5 but that's okay.  The 160's are right around the corner.  I just have to keep walking and I will get there.

Hello songchild,  Smiley's do work.  It's easy to make a list for everyone to see, however it's not so easy to admit what you did not do and post for everyone to see.  My goals today are:

Nov. 16

:(  1:  Exercise 30 minutes (rain, rain please go away:()

:)  2:  Drink 2 bottles of water

:(  3.  Stay within 1300 calories

:(  4.  Close kitchen at 7:00 (except for nightly tea)

what a horrible, terrible day

Watching the scale go down, knowing that I'm on the track to where I once was.  When I'm tempted to snack I tell myself that it would look better in the trash than on my hips.

Don't quit.  We've all hit plateaus - I've been stuck in the 170's for a very long time.  I'm with zeke2 1400 calories does seem awful low with the amount of activity you are doing.  Keep checking your deficit to be sure you are consuming enough.  What everyone here says the deficit should be between 500 - 700.

171 today.  Yesterdays activities seemed to help and my legs are sore.  That's a good thing.  Today I'm working on my arms and hoping by the first of next week to drop into the 160's.  Where theres a will theres a way.

ok I did weigh and it wasn't as bad as I thought.  I'm at 173 today.  Changling, I have also been stuck in the 170's forever and I am out of ideas.  I work in an office and every time I go to the restroom I'm going to do wall pushups, lunges, or deep knee bends (though not so deep, because my knees click).  I'm going to try to up my activities more.   If that doesn't help push me out of the 170's I don't know what else to do/try. :(

A bad weekend at my house assures that I will not be weighing until Wednesday.  I'm sure I still belong here because on Saturday I weighed in at 172, and I ate so much junk on Sunday.  I will walk tonight and do my resistance bands.  My goal for this week is to walk at least 4 times and do my bands at least 3 times.  What are your goals for the week?

Down to 172 today, and my boyfriend brought me a doughnut this morning arrrgh!  I have to keep telling myself that the doughnut is not worth it.  Step away from the doughnut.  Cereal is better.  Doughnut is bad.  We also will not be home tonight so where can I eat supper that won't kill me.  I won't have time for my walk either.  I need help staying focused and I need a plan.

Hi guycrazy,
I'm having the same problem.  I bought some bands to exercise at home and I think they have been out of the box probably about 5 times.  I still try to walk at least five times a week but that's all I have been doing.  Most of my clothes are baggy on me so I'm thinking if I get some tighter clothes maybe that will motivate me?  I won't be riding on the weight I've already lost but more apt to lose more?  I don't know.

Hey Changling - how did your potluck go?  I weighed myself this morning and I'm still at 173.  At least I stayed the same instead of creeping up on the weekend.  Three more pounds and I can be in the 160's club.  I looked back on my weight log and I see I have been in the 170's for almost 2 months now.  I keep bouncing back and forth without making any substantial head way.  I did go jeans shopping this weekend and bought a size 12 pair of jeans.  They fit and I'm thrilled.  My mini goal is 3 pounds by Nov. 17th.

Down 1.5 pounds this morning.  I know I'm not supposed to weigh myself every day, but I seem to stay more focused when I do.  I have found out that my weight does seem to go down if I walk the night before.  It doesn't have to be that much, but if I do some walking it seems to help.  My problem will be to keep it up throughout the winter.  I don't handle the cold very well so this will be a challenge.  One thing that seems to help is my dog has gotten used to her walks and she is not easily put off.

I'm back up a pound and a half putting me at 174.5.  No offense but I hate the 170's.  No matter how hard I try I can not break that barrier.  I was at 172 but a set of new scales put me back in the 180's.  I'm finally back in the 170's and thinking of getting my old scales back out.  I'm hoping like Jeunene to be in the 160's by Christmas.  By the way Jeunene congrats on your loss!!  Also congrats to you guycrazy!!

Hi,
I've been a lurker until now.  I have been stuck in the 170's for a long time so I'm glad to finally have a club in which I belong.  I finally made it to 175 this morning and I am thrilled.  I decided to post today to help with my accountability.  I'm hoping by doing this it will help me to stay focused with my weight loss goals.
