Doesn't sound like you're eating enough to me....you say on your long run days you eat 1800 calories, I would suspect you burn all of those calories on your run, so then you would end up with probably a 1500 calories deficit for the day. I suggest eating more and adding protein. |

I've been running about 2.5 years. I suggest increasing your distance before your first walking break before increasing your speed. I'm not sure what distance you're shooting for, but I would work yourself up to running the full 30 minutes before worrying about speed. |

wrm2105 - All I can say is that I'm addicted. :) I was a smoker before I was a runner, so I guess I replaced a bad habit with a healthy one. I run 5 days a week, and honestly, I think that's the only way I stay sane. The more miles the better. I just go through shoes like crazy. I'm replacing them about every 2 months. |

| I quit over 2 years ago. I read a book to do it. I had used the patch before, and it just didn't cut it. The book I read was 'The Easy Way to Stop Smoking'...I got it off of Amazon.com. Anyway, it actually prepares you mentally to quit. You smoke while you read the book, then you have a ceremonial last cigarette. Within 2 hours, I didn't even like the smell of smoke. I was kind of ancy the first few days, but that went away. I've recommended it to several others. Almost all that have read it have quit. I don't think it will work for everyone, but if you want to quit, it's definitely something to try. Good Luck all! | |||
