Hi, Liz- thanks. When you say take what I burn, do you mean by using the calculator? Not trying to sound silly, I just can't quite get this right I feel like and I really want to move off of the plateau...I appreciate the responses, guys.

I know it- I start to feel like I am over eating...I feel like saying 'if i am not this hungry, why am I stuffing myself?". But, laphipps, that sounds like a good idea...add an extra apple, banana, etc...wheat toast, low fat cheese...something. I am going to try to make it a goal to end the day w/1200...AFTER exercise even...

I ended up getting a great, great dish...couldn't remember the name this morning, but through some help, I think it was the  Chicken jalfrezi....regardless, it was amazing. My friend got the chicken korma, which I didn't get b/c the sauce was creamy...but I tried it and it was awesome, too...can't wait to go back!! :)

Thanks you all for the suggestions!

The spring rolls are good, light and full of veggies- not fried! Curry dishes are SOO good, but the coconut milk hikes up the fat/calorie content...but, they are phenomenal ;).

I have gotten the Pad Se-ew before and it was great, great...here at my local place, you can get veggies and chicken/tofu/shrimp in a light, spicy brown sauce- order brown rice instead of white and there you go. I didn't see that on your menu, but I probably just overlooked...anything like that is a great choice. You can't go too wrong, just don't get the Pad Thai or anything else w/the peanut sauce, or the curries...those I know are fattening.

ENJOY most of all!! Thai is DELISH!!!! Happy early b-day

Hi there! I just started trying the Aria Women's Protein in chocolate- I put it in the blender w/a little skim milk, lots of ice and some sliced strawberries...it was awesome! In 2 scoops, there are only 80 calories and I think 15g protein. I bought it at my local Kroger.

Thanks, all! Hi, Jules :)!

Okay...will look for the Tandoor dishes. A deli/bakery where I went to college used to have Mullagatawny soup once a week and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten- didn't realize it was Indian...hope they have it! I appreciate it all....

Hi, there- I have had similar issues and I eat a lot of fiber, too- my stomach would become distended after eating veggies- raw OR cooked...and I love them! Went to the MD and I have IBS with constipation...starting taking Amitiza and it is working so well and my stomach motility is back in action...sometimes may take a day or two, but it works. Sometimes I get headaches with it, but it is worth it to me as I was MISERABLE for a long time w/my tummy like that. It was so embarassing at times.

I am with you Taylor!

Height: 5'4"

Weight: 131

Goal: 123

I  vow to not eat any crap- no chips, pretzels, cookies, candy, cheese dip (oh, not the cheese dip!), etc. Only lean protein, veggies, fruits, whole grains...lots o'water, etc. I wish I could say no alcohol, but...can't promise that.

Let's do it ladies!

I eat the majority of my days calories for breakfast and lunch, work out after work, then eat a light dinner (grilled chicken, salad, veggies, etc.). I always bring apples, pears, banana, or strawberries to work for a snack. When I need a 'sweet fix', I have a sugar free Jello pudding cup- only 60 calories :)

Hey girl- I have chronic constipation, and my MD prescribed Amitiza, but I did not like the side effects.  however, it is different for everyone and maybe worth a shot. I now take Lactulose once every 2-3 days. You can take it every day, but I find I have better results if I space it out a bit.

Also, I recently underwent testing b/c my symptoms were getting so bad and they think I may have Pelvic Floor Dysfunction- not saying you do by any means, but it was something I had never heard of and it makes sense w/my symptoms- just fyi.

thanks so much for the comments, all. hopefully, I will have the results back today or tomorrow from the Sitzmark test and I am actually looking forward to it- hopefully an answer.

A lot of it could be b/c of my recent personal life changes- but perhaps the stress simply exacerbated symptoms that were already there- just not as severe as they are now. It started getting bad like this about 4 months ago, but I have always had digestive problems.

I dunno...we shall see. I appreciate the info you all.

Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, constipation, stomach distention, feeling full quickly, gas...you name it. It has just gotten chronic and I have tried quite a few therapies. I just finally had to consult a GI b/c it has become chronic so to speak.

Hi, all- i'd love to join in on this thread. I have been hovering at 128-132 for a long time, and I know I would be more comfortable dropping 8-10lbs.

I am 5'4", athletic, eat very healthy (need to cut out things like pretzels, though), exercise at least 4 times per week (alternate running ~3 miles, spinning, aerobic kickboxing, elliptical). I need to either bump up my exercise regimen or alter my eating habits I think to get this weight off and gone for good.

Any tips/comments are welcomed. I look forward to hearing what you all have to say in your day to day posts.

Fitness Tapering your workouts before a race Dec 07 2007
19:00 (UTC)
Hi- I just ran my first half, and I per the training program I followed, I tapered the week before, including no running starting 2 days before the race until the race itself. I found that I felt great, had tons of energy and was ready to roll on race morning!

This link is the entire schedule I followed: http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/novice. htm

There are also programs here for Intermediate and Advanced where the taper is a bit different: http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/inter.h tm

http://www.halhigdon.com/halfmarathon/adv.htm

The beginner (novice) worked wonderfully for me. I had been running 5Ks and a 10K and this program helped me enjoy my first half-marathon experience. Best of luck in your race!
