I think we are focusing on the wrong things here. There are so many different body types that a female can have. What is important is not this battle between ultra-thin and curvy but having a healthy body whatever shape you are. Are you eating a balanced, nutritious diet? Are you getting your heart rate up 3-6 days per week? Are you getting enough sleep and taking time for yourself? Have you been consistent with this for a while now? If so, pat yourself on the back ladies! All the guys I know like healthy women. Just as I am attracted to healthy guys. Whatever your shape, focus on being the healthiest you you can be and you will be attractive to someone. You can't change your dna or your bone structure. |

| Weight Loss | lost too much weight? | Aug 18 2008 06:16 (UTC) |

Well if you want a six pack you'll need to lose more body fat and up your muscle mass. That doesn't necessarily mean losing more weight. I know girls with 6 packs who weigh 140lbs. Everyone's body type is different. For the amount of activity you are doing, 1300 cals a day is on the low side. If you are wanting a firmer, toned frame, you might try uping your cals to 1600-1800 for a couple months, keep up your weight lifting, and start lifting a little bit heavier, changing things up. The added muscle mass will increase your metabolism and start burning off that extra fat you dont want. Keep up the cardio, its a good fat burner. But ditto to ladydeathbird. A trainer would be a good idea, they will know how to tailor a plan to your body.

| the muslce, instead of contracting inward is in essence squeezed outward, the shape being more round instead of lean and taught. | |||
| Fitness | too many crunches = thicker waist? | Apr 11 2007 22:00 (UTC) |

| you can develop a "pushed out" muscle look if you aren't doing your crunches correctly in proper form. make sure your lower back is flat to the floor, concentrate on sucking the belly button in towards the spine as you curl. | |||

| Fitness | How do you fuel your run? | Apr 11 2007 21:54 (UTC) |
3 |
| whenever I run 10 Km or greater, I find it extremely important to take some sort of power bar or gel pack with me to fuel during my run.
however, make sure your properly hydrated before any distance and during and after. try to eat some complex carbs an hour before and some protein........and possibly a few slice of oranges or something right before. need energy to run fast and far for sure. good question =) |

| there isn't any really effective way to "spot reduce" you can train individual muslce groups, but not burn fat at one particular point in the body.
gonna have to lose body fat all over via diet and exercise. however, that being said, my friend has lost a couple inches via pilates 3 times per week over a few month period. |

| i would go by dress sizes perhaps and not weight in your case then.
what size are you currently if you dont mind me asking? then you could make it your goal to be at a certain lower size. I personally think a size 4-6 is super attractive, but thats just me, its all about what you want for yourself. or measuring inches around your waist is a good idea too. like 26-28 inches around the waist is pretty ideal in my head anyhow. beyond 34 inches for a woman is considered a health risk. |

| QUOTE:"Heh... from 2beans "In Genesis, Adam and Eve only started to die after they ate from the tree, which was when they became imperfect. Had they not ate from the tree, nor anyone else after them, they would not have died. They would be still living and perfect. God created humans perfect, to live forever. He didn't make us to get old, sick, decrepit, and die. or murdered." ....you dont see whats wrong with that?.... how can something perfect make a mistake? His idea of perfect would have been to follow his word without question right? So...they didnt....and so...they arent perfect? So...god made a mistake or didnt think things all the way through. Oh wait...god cant make mistakes *head explodes*" Just a side-note- the bible never said he made them "perfect". he said "it was good" good is very different than perfect. therefore God didn't screw up. God didn't make another perfect being, another God, he made man, and he made us good. with freewill b/c love is not forced. our sin is on us not him. |

-I want to fit into a size 4. -I want to feel good in t-shirts and tank tops -I dont want to have to think hard about how to pose (to make myself look thinner) in pictures |

|
| shoulder raises, bicep curls, squats, lunges, chest press, chest flyes, shoulder press, rows, reverse flyes (for back) can all be done with dumbells.
pushups, situps, tables/bridges, wall sits are other great exercises you can do without weights. |

| AHA I FOUND IT!!
Law of diminishing returns Sometimes referred to as variable factor proportions, law of diminishing returns states that as equal quantities of one variable factor are increased, while other factor inputs remain constant, ceteris paribus, a point is reached beyond which the addition of one more unit of the variable factor will result in a diminishing rate of return and the marginal physical product will fall. |

| Foods | How can I improve the taste of protein shake? | Mar 01 2007 14:50 (UTC) |
|
| I buy my vanilla whey protein from Costco. only like $40 for a huge tub that has lasted me a year. Its Webster's 100% Whey Protein. it comes in chocolate and vanilla and tastes awesome with skim milk.
I usually add frozen berries and 2 tbsp of peanut butter to my shakes to make them very sustaining and delicious! |

| i was on the pill for about a year. i made me insane. like PMS was so aweful. I did seem to gain weight, like 10 lbs when I was on it. however, i think it was just coincidence as i was away at university that year, binging a lot on food and alcohol. and i had to work hard to lose those 10 lbs gained after i went off the pill. | |||

| Health & Support | Is Your Tap Water Killing You? | Feb 16 2007 22:43 (UTC) |

| According to the U.S. Council Of Environmental Quality, ?Cancer risk among people drinking chlorinated water is 93% higher than among those whose water does not contain chlorine.? Disinfection with chloramine is also becoming increasingly common. Unlike chlorine, chloramine has a longer half life in the distribution system and still maintains effective protection against pathogens. The reason chloramines persist in the distribution is due to the relatively lower redox potential in comparison to free chlorine. Chloramine is formed by the addition of ammonia into drinking water to form mono-, di-, and trichloramines. Water treated by slow sand filtration may not need further disinfection as a very high proportion of pathogens are removed by microorganisms in the filter bed. UV Filtration-relatively new, lots more research and developement needed but could be the answer. I know its not exactly easy to avoid. However, de-chlorination of water is a pretty easy process. So get a water and shower filter! |
