All my favorites!  THANK YOU for all these sites.  Now if only I could find one for filipino food, my life would be complete!

Here's a good one for thai food:

I'm a fan of Oroweat's Double Fiber.  One slice has 70 calories and 6 grams of fiber (24% of DV).  It's soft and tasty too.

I'm with you on this one.  Last month, I went to a bachelorette party weekend with 15 of my closest girlfriends.  I told no one of my new eating habits.  Our first lunch together, they ordered every fried appetizer on the menu.  I had to stop the waiter to throw a green salad on the order, because there wasn't a single vegetable on the ticket (unless you count fried zuchini.)  I quietly filled up on the salad and had little bites of the other foods.

I didn't want anyone to notice that I wasn't chowing down on everything because I didn't want them to make an issue of it.  I know they would be supportive of me, but at the same time they would probably call me out on it and say things like "oh, Jen can't eat that because she's on a diet" or "here, try this, it won't kill you."  I don't need that kind of attention.

Whether your friends know about your new eating habits or not, the bottom line is that what you put in your mouth is your decision alone. You're going to have to find someway to resist the binges yourself, because they're not going to do that for you.

Volunteer to bring the dessert next time.  Have ice cream bars instead of scoops.  Theres a really good Klondike bar that's 100 cals or popsicle fudge bars for 60 cals.

I'm bumping this post from many months ago to see if we could get an update from Alli users.  I'm curious about your progress.  Did it work and are you still on it?

I just started Alli on monday and so far, no "treatment effects."  If anything, it's helped me monitor what I put in my mouth.  This is huge for me, considering my biggest challenge has always been portion control.

Any insight would be helpful!

hi everyone!

bsaucoin, i've read many times on this board that the difference between your calorie expenditures and your calorie intake should come out to about 500-1000 calories. That range is a safe enough deficit so that your body doesn't think it's starving and shuts down.

So in your case, if your normal calorie expenditure is 1700/day, you will lose if you're eating 1200 (1700-1200 = 500). (I've also read that caloric intake for women should never fall below 1200.) But if you worked out and expend, let's say, 2400 calories total, you can eat up to 1400-1900 calories and still lose (deficit of 500-1000 calories).

I get a little confused about it still. Just to double check, I sometimes use this site to help figure things out: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calc ulator.htm#

Thanks rybecka for explaining the lines on the weight chart, I always wondered what that green line was for!

Hi!

I finally found the nerve to post here at CC.com. I've been lurking here for months now, and it's helped me lose about 11 lbs. I started at 165, and I've been trying to get past 154 for weeks. (Plateaus suck!) I'd like to get down to 145 or less for a Mexico cruise in February, but I realize that the upcoming holidays will make that goal even more challenging than it is. I think we're all gonna need some extra motivation and support when the turkeys start rolling out.

So count me in! Yay!
