Hi ladies!! I'm back.. so sorry I disappeared.. the wedding stuff got way out of hand the last few weeks, but that's all behind me now and we got back from Mexico yesterday. I was officially 130 lbs on my wedding day.. (but I think it's back to 135 from the honeymoon.. all inclusive, hard not to indulge) thanks for all your support through the process. The wedding was fabulous, can't complain about anything.. well maybe the 28 people that rsvp'd but didn't show.. ugh. Hi girls.. the dress is getting a lot closer to my vision, I went in Monday and it's looking good. I'm picking it up in a week and a half and I'll take pictures then. I'm feeling a lot less stressed about it.. Greta, I was going to suggest the G2 to you awhile back when you mentioned having Gatorade as a treat after a long run.. sorry I forgot, but glad you found it. I always have one after my boot camp class and if I go on a long bike ride.. so refreshing. and I like the blueberry pomegranate as well. I have an orange one in my fridge for after boot camp tonight. Sorry about your off-roading experience.. I've seen those jogging strollers I think they are made for that! ha. I'm sure the baby enjoyed the change of scenery. Rebekkah, how are your clothes feeling? I would gauge by that instead of the scale during the fluctuations.. I know it's hard seeing the high numbers (btw I do the same thing with thinking why even bother if I'm just going to gain weight) but then I remember I'm going to feel worse once my clothes start getting tight. Just a thought, there's no way you could gain 5 lbs in two weeks and then drop 2 lbs in 1 day, the math isn't there.. it's the female body!! And all the stress you're in about your relationship is probably adding to the problem. Try to go out and do a fun activity this weekend, like a hike, bike ride or tennis, something to get your body moving but also clear your mind.. stay out of the gym for the weekend. And hopefully you'll be charged up again on Monday. Margo, so glad you got the pumpkin ice cream!! it's great isn't it :) mine's all gone and I'm going to refrain from making a trip to the store just for ice cream. Enjoy! Danni, awesome about the measurements!! so excited for you. Have fun on your trip to the casino. Rennai and everyone else talking about dreams, that's so crazy when someone can interpret your dream and it makes sense.. hmm. I never knew they had so much meaning.. Danni, I have pregnancy dreams all the time as well. I always wake up thinking I'm pregnant and freak out. ha. Hopefully they don't end when I want to be pregnant. Carrie, sucks about all the girl stuff. I had an abnormal pap a few years ago, which I guess happens all the time.. going back to the what’s ‘abnormal’ anyway it was fine the next year but because I had that one ‘abnormal’ pap I got turned down for some disability insurance my financial advisor wanted me to get. It was so weird, I was fine, I told my doctor the next time and she couldn’t believe it, she said she would call the insurance company to explain. I'm so excited for the weekend.. 6 of us who lived together in college are getting together in Chicago at one of their houses. The weather is suppose to be awesome around 70 the whole time.. and I'm just excited to get away and have fun without thinking about the wedding or work. And I get off work at 1:00 tomorrow to head up there. |

okay.. I just got the Edy's Limited Edition Pumpkin ice cream the other night at the grocery!! you have to get it, I think it's the slow churned one as well Rebekkah. Anyway, it's so good, I don't usually buy ice cream, but I love pumpkin stuff so I couldn't resist. It tastes just like pumpkin pie, plus it's kind of rich so I just ate a coffee mug of it, instead of a whole bowl. Also, the little debbie pumpkin delights are now out, my favorite time of year. ha. I'll let you know how the dress fitting goes on Monday and hopefully I'll have pictures then.. and believe me Rennai I wanted to punch him in the face!! We were all in such shock that he was treating me that way, plus the other family being there I didn't say too much... but I'm not going to pay him until it's the way I want it. I'm not sure if we have any sayings in the Midwest except for ending sentences with at... like 'where you at?' instead of 'where are you?' My brother hasn't lived in the Midwest for 13 years and he always makes fun of me for that... and when I lived in Dallas for a couple years they always talked about my northern accent, I guess I say aaaa's really long. Heather, do you do that? I don't know, I guess every region is different. Danni- thanks for the comments, it was really special that he came home while we were visiting. As for work, you know I do web design, my full time job, I work for a small web firm that specializes in large corporate clients and my side freelance business is just me and I specialize in small businesses. so lots of hours in front of a computer, I get burned out often!!! I really wish I would have gone into something different like physical therapist, something more active away from the computer. oh well. The only good thing is when I have kids I can hopefully do work from home. |

oh, I guess as I was writing my long post, I missed the new ones. Rebekkah, you HAVE to get the Peanut Butter at TCBY!! it's the best! Greta, oh well, at least you know you can be at 121, it's attainable and I'm sure it's just from the holiday weekend, I'm up a little over a lb from last week as well. darn american holidays!! :) my big birthday (30) is on Thanksgiving this year, so I'm sure nothing will be planned plus I'm secretly relieved like Greta, I'm not a big birthday person and don't like to be the center of attention. This whole wedding stuff is hard enough. That's why we're having a couples shower because I didn't want a bridal shower alone. :) |

Hi everyone, I just read through your posts, lots going on, sounds like everyone had a great labor day weekend. Mine was fabulous!! And a nice break from life… I went to Dallas to visit my sister-in-law and nieces and my brother surprised us and came home from Afghanistan early, he wasn’t supposed to be home until mid October. It was so great to see him and know he’s back in the states. It was a great visit and my nieces are so darn cute!! 2 ½ and 4 months. They were so excited to see their daddy!! It was a great visit. So.. on to the dress.. thanks for asking. It was awful, the only good thing was it fit and it was the right material, but the neck line, back, sash and bottom were all wrong. It’s strapless and was suppose to have a slight scoop in the front and they made it a true sweetheart where it come to a point, the back was suppose to come to a slight V and it was straight across, the bottom was suppose to be fit and flare and it was a-line. And the sash was supposed to be a separate piece of material tied on and they just sewed a piece of material around the middle to make a band. But the real kicker is.. when I started pointing out what was wrong the designer started yelling at me in the store, it was awful, I didn’t know what to do, the worse experience ever!! He is so rude. We finally were able to talk to the store manager and she agreed to have the alterations made at their cost. They don’t do them there, but there is a lady next door. I went in there last week and she pinned it and I feel confident she’ll make it the way it was suppose to be. Except the sash, I think I’m going to make an organza flower and pin it to the existing band instead of doing separate sash. Anyway… it’s a huge mess. I get to pick it up Monday. But since it was pushed back so far, I just ordered a veil and I don’t think it will be in on time for my hair consultation on Sunday. The wedding is 8 weeks from Saturday and the planning in really gearing up… so many details!! Programs, table numbers, card box, guestbook, decorations, flowers, gifts, etc.. we still don’t know where were going on our honeymoon either. Friday will be our 1 year from getting engaged.. so crazy I’ve been doing this planning for a year now! no wonder I’m getting burned out. We have a couples shower on Saturday that I’m excited about. And with all that!! Working out.. J so yeah, life has been busy. I did go for a 12 mile bike ride last night with a friend and it felt good. The dress fits so I’m not really concerned about losing more weight but toning up my arms. The good news is that work has finally slowed down, no more long hours, except I have a couple projects brewing for my freelance business that could consume some evenings and weekends, the money will be nice though. Okay.. that was a lot of me me me :) Heather, I suffer from a lot of lower back pain so I feel for you. Rennai is right about the tight hamstrings, my chiropractor said the same thing. Mine are so tight I can barely touch my toes. Make sure you make time after your runs to stretch, I always forget. Good job with the running, that program works well, I guess you just have to trust it and follow it. Rebekkah, not sure what you should do about the jeans, did you try on the size smaller to see if they fit? I find jeans lately have so much stretch in them that after wearing them a couple hours they get baggy. If you can fit into the size 26 and if they are tight in the store, they will probably work for you. Just a thought and then when you lose the weight you’ll still be able to wear them, they might be just a little loose. Maybe you can purchase them and then wear them around the house for a couple hours and if they don’t loosen up, return them? Since you are so close to your goal weight I think it would be okay to buy new clothes, five more pounds will not make them fall down, just a little wiggle room, and since we’re always fluctuating weight, it’s nice to have jeans that fit when you’re bloated and feeling skinny. Greta, maybe you should just wait until the day after your birthday to weigh-in, that way you won’t be upset if you don’t hit the magical number and start your birthday off upset. You’re sooooooo so close that I think you could just tell yourself you hit 120 and have a fantastic birthday!! Ha. by the way.. I’m so impressed at your dedication.. I mean 121!! Can you even believe it some days!! Margo, I think the circuit training is going to be great for you, it’s always hard to miss a class you pay extra for.. that’s how I feel about boot camp. As much as I don’t want to go sometimes, I have to or I’ll waste money! Rennai, your car wash story is classic. I love it. And I love laffy taffy I would have fell hard for it!! Ha. Friday, when I was at the airport going through security I got hit on by one of the officers.. so funny, he walked up to me in line and was like, do you come though here often, you look familiar? Ha. seriously! How many people fly through there everyday.. my mom was dying laughing. Carrie, you’re going to do awesome at your piano group!! oh my.. trimming trees!! ha. I need to fit in some TV time :( haven't seen it yet, but I'll look out. Carrie- home ownership is expensive! not fun when you have roof damage and leaks in the ceiling. Luckily my Dad is very handy so he's saved us thousands! My mom had to have a tree cut down from a bad storm and I think it was close to $1000 just to cut a tree down! I'm with you, give me the chain saw! but in neighborhoods you have to be careful the tree doesn't fall on someone elses house. blah blah Rennai- strict HOA!!, I'm surprised I haven't got a note to pull my weeds though, they look bad I have an appointment for Saturday at 2:30 to pick up my dress.. we'll see. I'm so nervous!! funny I always type greata first, then correct it. |

Hi everyone.. so sorry MIA for over a week again, I did read all the posts and have caught up. I've been working so much lately it's getting crazy. I do web design/development by the way, I work for a web firm and have my own small business on the side. We have this super crazy client right now.. anyway, I didn't get to workout last week at all until boot camp on Saturday and it was painful. We were so busy though and I worked so late that I wasn't eating much either, so my weight is down, but I don't know if it's just water weight. I was able to do a 6 mile walk/run Monday after work and 4 miles last night. I plan to do another 6 miles tonight and then boot camp tomorrow night. Getting back into the grind.. I've been so tired I haven't been able to get to the gym in the mornings though, I'm going to work on that for next week. Supposedly my wedding dress has been shipped and should be here sometime this week, I'm not sure if I believe them though since they lied about other deadlines, I'll let you know and take pictures when it comes in. Carrie- nice job with your running and good luck with the apt search. I think a house or townhouse would be a great idea, more room for the puppies, they'll love it. and I hope you figure out what's causing all the pain, hopefully just cramps and it will pass soon. Rennai- you too. you guys are so funny with your cross country pregnant claims. Amanda- nice to meet you, I'm Tracy, 29, live in the Midwest and I'm getting married in November. Rebekkah – you continue to amaze me with your willpower, being in all those get together/food settings and doing so well!! I agree your job sounds great. Hi girls stressful life here.. work has been out of control giving me migraines and nausea. It's interfering with my working out, like yesterday I was suppose to walk with a friend after work but I had to cancel do to a headache. Heather, that's great you both got bikes! We went out on Saturday to the park to ride, I'm borrowing a bike from one of Jay's friends, it's old but was a $700 when purchased so still a really good bike, anyway, Jay went and got his Huffy from middle school from his parents, the brakes and gears barely work and he had to work twice as hard to get up the hills, we switched after awhile and the Huffy was a great workout! ha. We went to a bike shop to get a new seat for the one I'm borrowing and looked around, I think we might invest in some new ones as Christmas presents. It's such an easy fun activity to do together, he's not into running so it's a nice alternative. I hope you get a lot more chances to get out before it gets cold. I've been trying to concentrate more on eating since I can't get really good workouts in, it's going well, my waist was 26.5 this morning! but my weight is still 137.4. As long as I can fit in the wedding dress I don't care how much I weigh.. which is another stressor still. Haven't heard anything about my dress yet, it just makes me anxious. I hate it. Carrie- nice job on the 6 miles and sticking to the training plan, it's hard to do once the miles get higher. You're doing great! Rennai- You're such a strong beautiful girl, you'll get through this. Guys can be so immature and never see a good thing when they have it. They get one small idea in their head and act like everything is over!! Continue venting to us if needed, I know it's hard to say some things to close family and friends since it just gets difficult since they know him as well. Everyone else- nice job on keeping up with workouts and eating, I've been trying to do as much activity outside since the summer is coming to an end. Before we know it we'll have snow probably :( okay.. back to work, full day ahead again!! oh and my puppy is no longer a puppy so sad... he'll be 7 months on Thursday and just weighed in at 65 lbs!! he's huge. |

Yeah, her phone had died in the middle of the night, which was her alarm and she didn't hear the texts from me. When I got back from my walk with Henry she had texted me twice and called and left a message. She felt so bad!! it really wasn't a big deal since I need to get used to the bike. We're going to try again next Saturday. Our puppy sleeps in the kitchen still.. can't be trusted!! plus he's 60 lbs already.. he's not fitting on the bed with us! ha. I sometimes wake up and our other dog is curled up by my feet. He's 50 lbs so it's hard to move around once he has you pinned. so I usually push him off to get situated again. When my fiancé is out of town though he sleeps in his spot next to me.. so cute lays his head on his pillow. ha. |

Rebekkah- you do so well with will power and sticking to your calories! very impressed. I wouldn't even have thought to get the kid's size. btw I got some of those special K crackers for my chicken salad today... very good! I got the Italian Tomato & Herb. Carrie- 5 miles!! awesome!!! let me remind you that I only did about 3 miles max before I did the half in May and finished in 2:45.. you should be able to walk the whole thing faster than 3:30. you got it!! So the bike ride didn't go so well Saturday. I was suppose to meet my friend at her house at 6am, well I got there and the whole house was dark, I kept texting her, but didn't want to ring the doorbell since she has 3 kids. Anyway, I rode around the neighborhood for about 45 minutes and then went home. It was still dark out so I was a little creeped out to go too far by myself. I went home and took Henry for a long walk/jog though and then went back and took a nap. getting up at 5:30 on a saturday is too early!! My butt was pretty sore from just the 45 minutes, I'm going to look into getting a different seat. And I shouldn't wear running shorts my leg was rubbing against the seat.. ouch. I'm starting to count calories again this week to keep accountable.. got a little carried away I think over the weekend eating out 3 times. it was good though. We're going to Jimmy Buffett tomorrow night... good thing I have to work Wednesday to keep me from partying too much!! |

Margo- :( but I'm sure you guys will find something else. it takes time. stay positive and burn that frustration at the gym tonight!! so sorry about the dress as well.. It's so hard to order stuff online, you think it's going to look great, but always disappointed. as much as I hate the mall it's usually better to go try stuff on. I had a weird experience last night.. I've been working a lot lately and super stressed out, so got out of work late last night, had to drive home quick, change and get to the gym for bootcamp at 7:00. We did about a half hour of sprints and plyometircs and then we started doing shoulder/arm/back work with 5 lb dumbbells. Usually it's difficult because we don't rest, but last night they felt like they were 50 lbs each. I was getting frustrated since it was so hard and then got light headed and almost threw up. I've never got like this before in bootcamp. I stopped tried to drink Gatorade and eat some snack mix the trainer had, nothing was working but I tried to suck it up and continue on. There was about 10 minutes left and I couldn't go anymore and went home. so sad. I went home and went to bed I felt so ill. I must not have ate enough yesterday? or I think I might be getting sick? I went to bed at 9:00 last night and didn't wake up until 7:00 this morning!! I think it might be stress! 3 big W's (wedding, work, working out!!) ahh.. I sure hope I'm not getting sick. Have some good news too though.. I was walking Henry a few days ago and stopped at a friends house in the neighborhood to say Hi. I hadn't seen her in a few months and she's lost 35 lbs. She said she is smaller than she was in high school and she's had 3 kids! She looks great. she said she just started riding her bike around 3 days a week for 1-2 hours, she said running/lifting weights, etc wasn't working for her either. Problem is I don't have a bike and don't have extra money now to buy one. Well, I asked around and one of Jay's friends is letting me borrow his for a couple months. We're going to pick it up tonight and then I'm going to go out riding with my friend tomorrow morning. I'm excited for a new form of exercise but a little nervous since I haven't rode a bike forever!! and never for exercise! wish me luck, I'll probably be super sore after. Rennai- not sure about CC becoming a dating website? must be that HOT profile pic you have up!! :) Rebekkah- good luck with the protein, I just ate some FF cottage cheese from the container and thought of you, I need to bring some small cups from home. I hope everyone has a great weekend. I need to catch up on house work |

Just a quick comment.. I was also going to suggest the cottage cheese that Danni said and also eggs!! very cheap, just hard boil them and then cut them in half, pull out the yolk and then put 3 egg whites in a baggie for a snack. I think 1 egg white is 15 calories but 3 grams of protein. I'm heading to lunch but will comment more later. |

Nice job everyone on the running/getting to the gym!! I did 5 miles this morning running/walking half and half took me an hour. I think I found the 5k I'm going to do in October. It's a halloween one on October 30th, Friday night. It's called Run Like Hell 5k and it's in downtown indianapolis on the canal. Everyone dresses up. My fiance isn't a runner but has done it before, he said he would do it with me this year. Since it's the week before our wedding I was thinking we could dress up as bride and groom. i need to find him one of those tuxedo t-shirts. ha. and I'll make a veil out of tulle or something. Thanks for all the comments. We had fun taking them, a little awkward, but fun. A nice practice for the wedding. Greta, I love those jeans too, they're my "good" jeans meaning I can't wear them everyday and only with heels so I don't scuff up the bottoms. ha. The dog one didn't turn out as well as she wanted since Henry is pretty much ripping my arm off. It was hard to remain balanced in 3 inch heels on a brick road while trying to keep vertical! ha. but it's still a cool photo. We have some others of them sitting by us on a bench that turned out cute. The designer of the dress travels around the Midwest, it's just a pain because he keeps pushing back the date a couple months, hard to believe him that it's going to be in on time. I wish I would have got an used dress online and then had it altered to fit me. oh well, I'm sure it will work out. Maybe I'll find a different race, 5K or 10K to do in October instead of the half, so I'm not stressed but can still participate in the training with you. We're so busy with wedding stuff that I doubt I would be able to get all those miles in. A 5K won't need any training. I'll look around. Danni, way to get to the gym in the morning. I went Tues, Wed, Thurs but my cramps were too bad this morning so I stayed in bed. :( I'll get there tonight or just take the dogs for a walk instead. I have bootcamp tomorrow morning so I don't want to lift any weights today. She always works are arms and legs hard!! I'm having a bad week at work.. indecisive people and deadlines!! probably have to catch up on other work this weekend. not fun. It is a beautiful day here though, so that's a positive! I just need to get through these cramps and cravings. Ahhh. |

Hi Girls.. so sorry I've been so absent recently. very stressed about my wedding dress that's still not in and other wedding stuff that's not going smoothly and work has been crazy stressful lately. Huge projects, changing deadlines. ahh. We went to a wedding in TN last weekend, lots of driving but it was a good weekend. weigh-in: 137.6 this morning (same for the last month) I'm also starting TOM in the next day or so... makes it harder to workout for me. I'll push though it though. I've been doing pretty good at the gym, taking weekly boot camp classes that have been brutal. Luckily they are usually outside so I can't watch the clock the whole time! ha. I might be in on the half marathon training. There's one by my house October 17th that I can do and sign up for last minute since it doesn't sell out. It's only a couple weeks before my wedding though so I don't know how stressed out I'll be by then. I'll just start concentrating more on the running and if by the end of next month I'm up in miles I'll consider registering. Carrie, you should do even if you have to walk. I didn't train more than two miles before the one I did in May and ended up walking half of it. I just had a goal of 3 hours and ended up finishing at 2:45. It was nice to finish but my knees were killing me the last few miles, so I would never do that again without getting to at least 6 miles before. I would like to officially train someday for one, maybe next year. We also got our engagement pictures done last Friday before we left for TN. Here's the ones posted on her blog They turned out okay, it was really hot that morning so I felt like I kept wiping sweat off my face. at least we won't have that problem in November. They were taken in downtown Indianapolis. sorry I don't have any input on the Twilight books, not really my thing. I have a little bit of ADD and it's hard to just sit and read a book or even watch a movie, I don't go to movie theaters for this reason. My fiancé doesn't even like to rent them because I usually only watching half, I just think of all the other things I need to be doing. Sounds like you're in LOVE though Margo!! ha. I wish I was a reader, my mom is and it would be nice to discuss books with her. Carrie, I usually go to the grocery store for lunch and get salad bar or turkey wrap from the deli, or sushi, I’m kind of boring with food J I always forget to bring stuff from home. Happy Birthday Rennai!! hope it was a good one! Heather and Margo, get to the gym. Ha. Jk. I’ve been working out so much and eating well and still not losing.. so not sure if it’s worth it, except for the extra energy boost in the morning. I’m sure you’ll find your balance as well Rebekkah, I remember starting my first job after college thinking all I have time to do is work, eat and sleep… on no. I had a long commute as well. I also find the best time to workout is the morning, no excuses, it’s hard to get out of bed but once you’re there it gives you all day energy. Even if you do have to go to bed a little earlier, at least you can relax in the evening or go out with friends. You’ll figure it out. I promise to stay in better contact!! Only 3 more months to drop at least 7 lbs!! I can do it!!!!!!!! |

I would recommend going to a bridal store or a few :) and trying on a ton of dresses, then you'll figure out what style and fit you're looking for and take note of the sizes, they're usually higher in bridal dresses, (probably realistic sizes from the past though) Then go to the websites and find something similar, they are really good about putting measurements, dress size and then their normal street size on the listings. I would probably go with something a little bigger than your measurements and then have it altered to fit. Even if you order a new dress you'll probably have to get it altered, just the nature of the woman's body, everyone is shaped different. Like my dress, the waist was measured small, so I ordered it to fit that area and will probably have to take it in at top and hips. Good Luck, take your time. I ordered the first dress I tried on and now I wish I would have shopped around, you can always go back. Also, with the ones online sometimes they will allow returns you have to read the whole listing, also you can narrow them down to just your area and they will allow you to come try it on. |

Greta, yeah I am keeping track on theknot.com excluding the engagement ring, but everything else and the budget keeps going up. Going into it I was planning on spending half what the total is going to end up being. It's so crazy for just one day!! but will be worth it. Our parents are covering about half or it wouldn't be happening at all. Danni, take your time saving up that money so you won't be stressed and have to put stuff on credit cards. We got engaged last September so it will be around 14 months engagement for us. We had to wait until my brother got back from Afghanistan, at first I was bummed because I wanted to get married in August or September, but now that it's July already I'm glad I have more time. It's just so much work and it gave us more time to save all the money. I probably could have done it faster, but I work way too much, so it's all working out. Margo, I watch that show on TLC too, one of my favorites, but you're right not realistic, they only stock designer gowns, I doubt they have anything under $2k at the store. Funny story, I was watching it once a couple months after we got engaged and my fiancé happened to walk in the room and heard the girl's budget was $7000. He's like see they're only spending $7000 on the wedding.. I was like that's just her budget for the dress!!! ha. he couldn't believe it! I'm turning 30 this year as well!! on Thanksgiving day, so it probably won't be very eventful, but at least I'll get a good meal! :) By the way Margo.. get to the gym!! ha. I took measurements this morning as well. I need to find my old numbers on here and then I'll post again with the difference. Danni, We had a great time at the wedding in Chicago, it was out in the subburbs though, not downtown. It's funny after you plan a wedding you start to realize how expensive stuff is.. and oh my they dropped some serious money at that wedding!! well over 300 people there. We were at table 27 and there were 10 to a table. Full bar all night and sit down dinner that was actually really good. We had a great time with old friends from college. I did a bootcamp class Saturday morning before we left and then danced all night long in heels so I could barely walk for two days, didn't get back to the gym until yesterday. Yes Margo, November 7th!! it's coming so fast. I just checked 115 days away! I need to get unde 130 by then. I need to get the snacking under control. I've got the workouts, just need to focus more on food quality. okay.. now I need to look back through the forum for measurements and then I'll edit. Found them... Old measurements from June 8th Bust – 37.5 Waist – 28.5 (this is what is up from what I remember) Hips – 37.5 New measurements from today Bust - 36 (down 1.5) Waist - 27 (down 1.5) Hips - 37 (down .5) not bad for a little over a month. I wish I would have measured my thighs before, they actually seem bigger, my jeans are tight in that area. Maybe the weights are working, I've only lost 2 lbs in the same time. |

Carrie, I understand about the empire waist tops.. I'm also fairly large on top 34D and the empire waist can sometime make them spill out. I actually have an empire waist dress on today though, I just wore a ribbed tank underneath and it's super cute and appropriate. ha. You might want to try it? I'm a huge dress fan in the summer.. my new favorite style is the tank dress with high waist and a-line skirt, lower then empire, sits at your natural waist line making it look smaller. so cute. I'm not a huge shopper but cute dresses and shoes can always get my attention. I always wonder how much the girls actually weigh and what my real weight would be as well? ha. Rebekkah, good luck with the move... so exciting your first new place together!! I wouldn't worry about getting a workout in, you're going to be doing not only heavy lifting but lots of squats unpacking boxes. And thanks for the comments about Henry.. I need to put an updated pic up.. he's now 5 1/2 months and almost 50 lbs. He's a little trouble maker but I love him!! :) Heather, such a cute story, and good luck selling the house, we're probably going to do that next year and I'm not looking forward to it. Yum.. chicken fajitas!! sounds very good. I finally was able to workout this morning and it felt so good. I did shoulders and 30 minutes treadmill and 30 minutes elliptical. I was sweating like crazy.. not sure why, maybe since I hadn't been in 3 days I was getting the toxins out!! :) ha. anyway it was nice to get it in. Hi Girls.. sorry I've been MIA. I got a terrible sinus headache/migraine monday afternoon and it's just now gone. I couldn't even go to work yesterday and I haven't been to the gym since Monday night. I can't wait to get back to the gym tomorrow morning. I was on TOTM this week as well so I didn't feel like weighing in. Hopefully next Wednesday will be a good weigh-in. I'm so glad everyone can open up about your stories of childhood or just the past.. I was on the other end of the spectrum, I was always the little one. I don't think I hit 5' until I was in 9th grade.. late bloomer I guess. Kids can find anything to make fun of you. My mom has always been on diets as well, she's finally got her weight under control so I'm very proud of her. It is something to take note of though for when I have kids, to be a good example of health and fitness. And always speak of your body in a postive light. Soraya- thank you for the kind words and prayers for my brother. It's tough having loved ones there. He should be home in a few months in time for my wedding. |

I recommend eloping!! jk. it's a lot of work to plan, but I'm sure it will all be worth it in the end. 4 months from tomorrow for me!! Anyway, so exciting.. now you have a huge motivation to get to the gym!! Believe me, I’m getting a little obsessed, it’s hard to take rest days. I had some good news on the scale last Friday.. 137.4!! down two lbs finally! I guess being persistent is paying off. I've been working so hard the last few months and hopefully I'm finally seeing the results and lbs will start falling off. It's about time anyway. The weather on the 4th was rainy here as well, I just stayed in and cleaned the house, then we went out to eat and rented a movie. I watched another movie yesterday and went grocery shopping.. relaxing weekend at home I guess. Back to work today.. I hope everyone had a good weekend!! Yes, getting out of the carb mindset and into the protein is really hard, but I think it might work with fat loss. I put together a meal plan using bb.com Here's an example of what I'm eating today: Breakfast: Snack: Lunch: Snack: Dinner: After workout: Everyday will probably be similar until I get the hang of it, but I put it into cc and it's 1500 calories Fat - 26.3% (44 grams) I probably need to adjust it a little, but that’s 171 grams of protein!! Crazy, and I’m not eating chicken for every meal. Ha. Rennai- what do you think about my meal plan? Side note, I usually do about 30 mintues of cardio before breakfast and then do weights at night and intervals. It will be easy to stick with this during the week, but the weekend might be a little harder since I don’t have a set schedule. Greta- 10 miles! wednesday weigh-in LW: 140.4 CW: 139.2 (back to where I was two weeks ago) This is so frustrating, my body won't move below 139? I used to sit around 130-135 without eating healthy and not working out everyday. I like doing the weight program, I feel so strong and can tell every body part is changing, but I'm not dropping fat, at least I don't think so? I guess I just need to wait it out. I lift a different body part everyday... Chest, Back, Legs, Shoulders, Arms take one day off for boot camp on Saturdays and then start all over again. I combine a lot of the sets with other excersises and never rest the amount stated, it's a much better workout. I'm being a lot more careful with my diet.. I checked out some sample menus on bodybuilding.com(thanks Margo) and it seems they all eat a lot of protein. So, now I'm eating 6 small meals a day and at least 120 grams of protein, no pop and limited sugar besides fruit. I think I was eating WAY too many carbs and sugar before even though I was staying within the calorie count.. it has to work!! :) I've also upped my cardio, I go in the morning to do 30 minutes and then do another 20-30 minutes after I lift at nights. Rebekkah- you are doing an awesome job adjusting and getting back into working out. I know how hard that is, I moved to Dallas right out of college and only knew one other person in the area, but slowly through work I met some great friends, then friends of friends and in about 8 months we had a great group. funny story about the lady at the pool.. wow. It's been in the 90's this week and I love it!! a little too humid though. |

Hi.. no good news here. My weight is up even more today, I don't know what's going on? I workout 5-6 times a week 30 minutes weights/30 minutes or more cardio for almost 6 weeks now, plus I have been working out just cardio since January. I've been calorie counting staying between 1400-1500 calories a day and I can't drop a lb! I'm actually up from 136 at the beginning of May. I'm getting so frustrated. I've measured and I haven't lost inches either... my body doesn't want to let go of fat!! I'm going to really focus on my carb totals and try to get more protein I guess. I actually have a dr. appt. next tuesday and I'm going to ask to get my thyroid checked, I did some research and I have a lot of the symptoms of hypothyroidism. sorry to rant, just getting frustrated since I'm working so hard and eating well. LW: 139.2 CW: 140.4 (I've never weighed over 140!) Margo- I hope you have a great time in Cali!! What a fun trip… Rennai- Exciting about the new house.. I also painted every room when I first bought my house, makes it feel like home with your own personal touch. Carrie – the puppy is so cute!! Good luck with him! We have two boys as well… you’ll get used to the wrestling all the time! I’m always like are they playing or fighting?? The older one has to show who’s boss every once in a while by knocking the puppy over!! Ha. Hopefully next Wed I'll have better news to report :( |

okay.. I guess I'll start participating in Wednesday weigh-in again. My weight is still up, but I'm 4 1/2 weeks into the weights so hopefully I'll start seeing some fat loss soon. I feel so much stronger and firmer and starting to see top abs.. so I'm just plugging away. I'm trying to get some running back in the mix as well. Starting Weight: 139.2 Goal for next week to see 138.something.. little steps. I just need to be patient, it has to start going down soon. I will try to remember to take pictures tonight, not my favorite thing, but I'll do it for you girls. Nice job on the loss Cris and Margo |

Hi Girls.. sorry I've been MIA for the last month. I started the new weight lifting workout plan a month ago. It's going really well, I feel stronger and can see definition in my arms and back, however I've gained weight and inches. So for that reason I've been discouraged to post here. I've been doing really well during the week with eating and okay on the weekends, nothing too crazy. I know I need to get more intense cardio into my workouts, but I hurt my toe and it's finally starting to feel better, maybe this week. I do the weights workouts 5-6 times a week working a different body part each time, they usually last about 35-45 minutes depending on how long I rest and including abs. Every Wednesday night I have a personal trainer run me through whichever body part I'm suppose to do.. she's tough!! The wedding is 5 months from yesterday!! It's getting close.. I'm ready for it to be here already. I've been dealing with some stress regarding the reception site and my dress.. just two of the biggest things! hopefully it will all workout. Heather- what resort did you stay at in Puerto Vallarta? Did you like it? I'm leaning toward the Pacific coast either Puerto Vallarta or Cabo for our honeymoon. Because of the time change we can catch a later flight out of Indy the day after the wedding. Or anyone else who has visited there has recommendations?? I kind of want an all inclusive place so we don't have to worry about extra costs. Carrie- I took a cue from your book and took measurements yesterday and I’m going to compare them a month from now. Currently they are Bust – 37.5 Waist – 28.5 (this is what is up from what I remember) Hips – 37.5 I’m hourglass shape obviously. I’m not too concerned about the Bust and Hips, but I want my waist to get down to 26.. hopefully the running will help. I hope everyone has a great week.. I’m starting mine off tired. |

I had the best workout last night. I was supposed to have the PT session at the gym so I got there a little early and walked 1 mile waiting for the PT girl to show up. my appt was at 8:00 so at 8:05 I asked the PT manager who signed me up where she was, he told me I shouldn't of had an appt scheduled since she's out, well he's the one that scheduled it, I thought maybe I messed up, but he looked it up and I was right. Anyway, he felt bad so he said he would do it instead... cringe he's a lot tougher and I was already sore from the week, luckily it wasn't a legs workout or I would have been in trouble. It was arms and now I can barely lift them. I then ran 2 miles and did the 5 abs moves. It was really tough but I felt accomplished and strong when I left. I had a bagel from Panera this morning though(bad) since I was starving, but then I had a salad from the grocery store salad bar for lunch. Balance right? Ha. I’m so envious of how fast some of you drop weight, I know not all and some have been stuck like me, but if I even saw 2 lbs in 1 week I would freak out!! I’m still the same weight since January. I feel like I eat fairly well, I’m not perfect, but I don’t go out to eat very often, have only been out to drink maybe 4 times since Jan. I’m hoping this weights program is what I need to start seeing the scale go down. Cardio hasn’t done a thing, maybe It’s just getting older and metabolism slowing down? Heather, good luck with the new job, that’s always hard trying to figure out everything, especially when you have co-workers waiting for you to fail, not helpful. Carrie and Rebekkah I hope you get your injuries fixed up, it’s hard enough to go exercise even more when it’s painful. My knees were starting to bother me a little while back, so after the half marathon I decided it was time for new shoes. I ran last night for the first time with them and it was a lot better. Congratulations to everyone with a loss this week, hopefully I can be in that group soon :) |
