| When I hit "get started" it brings me to enter membership name. Is that my name "deamarie"? I don't remember anything from logging in a couple years ago. Obviously, I've had issues losing weight because I'm still here. :)
Gosh, maybe I'll just make a new account. By the time I figure it out, I could become a new person on the new sight. :) Maybe with better results. |

| Thank you so much everyone. I had someone at work offer me their "boot" to use at night. I heard it will help.
I'm still trying to figure it out. I've heard about so many people having this it's great to hear everyones thoughts. Now I have to reduce my calories (limited exercise). My doctor seems to think because of my age (42, female) I am only burning about 1400 calories a day. I have my work cut out for me. |

| I'm sure they probably were. You need support.
I wear heels everyday so, this is gonna be hard/weird. I'm at a corporate environment so this is going to look cute with my dress pants. :) Mine hurts really bad too. I waited for months to have mine checked. When I saw the bone spur in the X-ray, I was, well that explains a lot. Let's just say it's a real drag for working out. Good luck. |

| How weird. I just got this diagnosis today.
It sounds like you do. The ballet shoes will do nothing. You need to wear a good running shoe for 6 weeks. No exercising on your feet, no extra stairs, no walking on hardwood floors, if your house is all carpeting ok but other than that you need to wear your tennis shoes. Oh, also go to Sports Authority and get a pair of "heel cups" they are $10.99 and will help. Put them in both shoes. I was given exercises to do. You might want to Google sports medicine and look for the excercises. Take ibuprofin for the swelling. After 6 weeks you should be able to resume "normal" life. But no heeled shoes. He said you are either committed to making it better or it will continue to hurt. I hope this helps. |

| The cost of a gym membership is not an option. Too expensive. I asked the Dr. about weight training and he said it will be good but I need to burn calories to loss weight. He said I need to burn 500 calories a day with exercise. I have had no luck loosing weight. This could be interesting.

| I had my starting weight at what it is 177 and had it go down to 120 to make my "model" look somewhat thin. I guess that's why we never noticed the 20, 30, 40 lbs that came on. :) | |||

| I don't know if I would want to put a limit on participants. I need all the help I can get. :) I think we need insights from everyone.
I am just curious when in my brain did food become the end all be all. Up until adulthood, I never had a weight issue. Having kids didn't help things, but I think about food all the time. When I'm eating breakfast, I think about lunch or my next snack etc. I would like to eat for nourishment. Anyone else? |

| I love that idea - raiganjsuiter! It feels good to say when your down, when you feel like you failed...again! It's kind of theraputic. I can't be happy all the time. I need to feel and recognize my emotions. This way we can find simple wins with each other.
I'm 177 lbs and need to loose 40 lbs. It's so hard to say outloud (well typing). It's embarrassing in fact. It feels safe to say it to you guys. Let's do it! |

| I too would like to join you guys. My experience has been different. I have lost very little 9lbs in 6 months. Not very motivating. I've gained 6 lbs back. I worked out on a treadmill for 30-45 minutes 4 times a week. Said, "No, thank you" to more things than I can count for very little success. All I want is to see steady success for my effort. I have to admit, sadly, I'm jealous of other peoples success of a 1lb a week or the 3 lbs the first week. It took me 6 weeks to lose 1 lb (no I don't have a thyroid problem)
It's very depressing and I could use some "peeps" to talk to about this. |

| adrenalis - it's sad but true. For women it's first on last off. So my butt is the last thing to go, but it's the first thing that bothers me.
I'm 41 so I know the pain of it coming off slowly. It's really ridiculous. |

Just kidding, good luck and try being more "aware" of the dining out choices. It's not easy! |

| I know the feeling. We have a pool and we do a lot of entertaining. Of course I have cocktails and everything else that goes with entertaining. I'm really tired of counting calories. My goal was to be more aware. After busting my butt for 6 months, I was down 9 lbs. The reward seemed very unmotivating. I'm trying to stay remain aware yet feel like everything isn't off limits.
In the end I think all we want is to eat "normal". What I mean by that is healthy 80% of the time. Treats 20% of the time. For me being down 9 lbs meant no treats. I'm not a binger by any means, but it means, switching from white to whole wheat everything. That I can pretty much live with. I'm rambling.......all I meant to say is, you're not alone. |

| I'm in the same boat. I have been on a hiatus for about a month. Not totally though. We went to a water park and for breakfast I had coffee and Raisen Bran. I guess the last time I strayed away I was gone for a year. This time just a month. I'm getting better. Which means some of my old habits are apparently getting old. Who knew? :)
Just take it a meal at a time. That's what I'm trying. Starting today actually. Good luck!!! |

| free style,
Yes, I have lost 9 lbs, but that's are really slow start. I have asked for and received a ton of help. I have zig-zagged my calories adjusted work outs (not my most ambitious area but I move). At times it just gets to be too much. So much work for so little reward. Everything is a calorie loss or gained. I even brused my teeth standing on one foot to burn an extra calorie or two. Yet, here I am, trying to make life changes. I have made some significant adjustments that I am proud of, but have a long way to go. I too want to be 140 lbs. |

| Hello Ladies,
I'm 41 years old and am having a hard time losing weight. I started at 181 (Feb. 5th 2008) 5'4" and currently weigh 172.2. I have hardly lost anything. It's been so hard. I'm starting to lose hope. I've said, "no thank you" more times than I can count only to be let down by the scale for resisting the temptations. I could really use some support. |

| It's hard. I'm 41 and I have lost a total of 9 lbs in 4 months. I guess the key is to get it off before menopause. Then I guess it's super hard. It has really tested my patience and desire to stay with it. But I figure what is my choice? I need to lose a good 40 lbs. With 9 off it's going to take a while. | |||

| Hello everyone!!! I have been off line for 4 days. I took Friday off and planted some flowers. I have no idea what I'm doing but it was fun. I ate a lot of wrong things over the weekend. So all the work/calories I burned in the flowers ended up in my mouth. To be honest with you, it was a nice break. I'm back.
I hope everyone had a nice weekend. |

| I have the Calorie King book. It's really small. It doesn't have everything, but it's a nice substitute for the weekends when I don't log into CC and can use it as a gauge. I found out how high the Arby sandwiches were. Oh my gosh. I was better off having a roast beef sandwich. I like it. Just another tool. | |||

| Mrsdagle -I'm glad you are working it out. Whatever the end result means. Your happiness starts with you. When you are happy you can start making some real concrete decisions. You will be amazed how a bit of time (alone) can gain some clarity. I know of what I speak. Stay strong, eat well and get some sleep.
Have a great week. |

| Knowing a tiny bit of what you are going through (another thread). This is going to be difficult. I've been there.
Logging is a bit of a double edge sword. If you don't log you're not aware of your totally calorie intake. When you log ahead (which I do too) if feels like you can't adjust from the "original" plan. I log at work for the whole day then don't touch again until the next day. Try to look at it as a tool to help you. Good luck!!!! |

| First off, congratulations on hitting 10 years! That's great.
With that, enjoy everything the weekend experience is suppose to be. Eat, drink and be merry. You're celebrating. The brochure doesn't say you have to belong to "the clean plate club". Trust your body. I'm sure you will incorporate healthier food choices on your own. Have fun!!! It's only two days! |

| Try the low fat ones. There not great for 'ya but they are good. Maybe only have one next week. Then "zero" the following week. I bet it only took you 2 minutes to consume them. A lot longer on a treadmill to work them off. :) | |||
| Weight Loss | 6 weeks and no results??!! | May 07 2008 20:29 (UTC) |

| You are at my goal weight. :)
I know how you feel though. I started this journey 2/5 and for six weeks lost no weight. None, zero, nada. I just kept with it. I have only lost 9 lbs to date but I'm sticking with it. I just had to remind myself to say "no" more than I said "yes" to food. The scale will move. I had to keep tweaking my food. I'm still don't have it perfect but at least I finally started to lose. I use to eat 1350 with no exercise, then 1600 when I would exercise. That didn't help. I would "zig-zag" my calories, nothing. Then I tried sticking to a flat calorie number with or without working out. Then the scale started to move. I found protein, a lot of vege's (some fruit) and salads help. Just keep playing with it. You're young ( I think) the scale is friendlier to you. By the way. I wouldn't envy your friend, it's expensive, risky and has taught her nothing. You can do this!!!!! |
