Fitness Am I the only one here with a high resting heart rate? Apr 25 2009
18:43 (UTC)
10

My resting heart rate was 95-100. My doctor noticed it, not me. When I did cardio my heart rate was really high, but I didnt feel sick or anything. He had me get alot of tests, but everything came back ok. They had me wear a monitor that tracked it with my blood pressure, my bp was normal, but the heart rate stayed high so they just put me on medication to lower it. I would say check with your doctor though just to be safe.

I was also dinking way to much caffeine, since cutting back, its went down alot!

By far my favorite cardio machine! There are a lot more options on it then the elliptical plus my toes don’t go numb on it like they do on the elliptical.

On the activity log I just use the vigorous elliptical option.

Fitness Broken Foot Jan 08 2009
23:50 (UTC)

I am still rehabbing a Achilles tendon injury from last March that also resulted in nerve damage in my foot (Just my luck to get a freak injury!)

My best advice is to adjust your calorie intake. At the time of my injury I was able to pretty much eat whatever I wanted since I worked out so much. Well, after the injury I continued eating whatever I wanted and here I am 30lbs heavier. Also if you go to physical therapy, they are good at finding ways to work around an injury.

Hope this is helpful!

Hey everyone!

Just want to warn everyone that I am just beginning to come to terms with the limitations of my body, so please excuse me if i sound like a baby! In march I sprained or strained my AchillesTendon while doing yoga, after a long run it started really hurting! After weeks of walking in a boot the dr discovered that I had nerve damage in my foot caused by inflammation of the tendon. I was then diagnosed with rsd, which is a chronic pain condition. After two nerve blocks and lots of pt the pain is minimal, but i dont have feeling in part of my foot, making any weight bearing exercise difficult to say the least. It feels like im walking on a bosu or stability ball all the time. So that is my sob story so bear with me as i try to find a way to workout!

Yesterday i did two 20 min workouts from the in demand channel and am so sore! Why is it the body so quickly forgets what it used to do!

cfeltontufty- I am so jealous!!! I was just getting becoming a running junkie when I injured my foot. Running and yoga were my therapy, but I'm determined to at least do yoga again (my doctor says theres a chance i'll never be able to run).

I used to use this site last year all the time but slowly stopped. Well, since then a knee injury, and a really bad foot injury resulted in a 20lb weight gain! So here I am again, weighing 148 and afraid to work out! Oh how fast the mighty do fall!!!!

Grape Nuts Trail Mix cereals are good. Also Special K protein plus isnt as sweet as regular special K. If you have a Trader Joe's in your area they have tons of cereals that are good and very high in fiber.Total cereals also are less sweet and they have alot of new varieties, but some are pretty high in calories and fat.

To everyone that is interested in yoga, i do the show Inhale on the oxygen channel. Its on at 6am everyday (I record it).

It is the best whole body workout for me. Anyone who knows me knows I used to live at the gym, but wasnt getting any results. The last month I have just been doing yoga and weights and feel great. All my size 8's are loose, and I have more energy. For anyone out there that is stresses, I highly recommend it!

I better stop, I dont want to sound like a yoga nut!

I love power yoga! I do the Inhale program on oxygen and it works you! I have felt more sore after yoga then after doing cardio and weights. I have horrible upper body strength and have found it improving since doing yoga, instead of just weight training.

Its also instant gratification because by the end of the session you already feel more flexible then when you started.
