| Well tasha personally for me, this place is wonderful because I don't feel like I'm the only person who has to lose a lot of weight. When I started losing weight, I was at 313, the heaviest I've ever been. I'm now down to 285, and that first day I hit under 300, was OUTSTANDING. You'll get there too. You sound very serious about wanting to lose the weight, so I belive you will. We all will. Counting calories is so crucial and a great way to start so keep it up. :) | |||

| thank you guys so much :) I have to admit I almost got a little teary. I have been using a dr.'s scale at work and when I stepped on it, slung it on 300 it went down. I almost jumped off! I had to change it to 250 and start from there. Def. a great moment :)
This weekend we are going to eat at this new mexican restaurant and for once I'm not scared to go. I know I won't eat everything in sight and I'm looking forward to it. Of course I'm going to hit the gym first heh. |

| Hey Jayd, one more thing. At night when I get the munchies I grab a caramel rice cake. Crunchy, sweet and only 50 calories! Sometimes I eat two and that usually goes a long way. I never ate rice cakes and now I love them (the caramel ones anyway haven't tried any others). | |||

| I really like the thought of a chat. Like either meet somewhere at a specific time and day or something like that.
I don't have any ideas of my own really. I'm hoping that I stay motivated enough that I will continue to eat better and keep going to the gym. I've been doing this for a little over a month now and I worry that I'll eventually quit like I have with other things so many times before. It's why I really joined a gym, I figured if I was paying to go somewhere I'd go cuz I'm a tight-wad. |

| I'm still super excited! I won't be able to weigh again until Friday just to see if I'm down that one pound but I'm feeling pretty confident that I have. So where are the 100+ people? Is it a thread? I wanna see ;)!

| thanks for the suggestions, it's too bad I'm not one for peanut butter. Or oatmeal. Eggs sound good though, but I won't bring those to work. Not boiled anyway. Maybe I can make an omelet and bring that to work. I've even found it hard to find breakfast recipes (low cal ones) on the net. | |||

| This is my third week going to the gym. I started going 3 days a week, but his week from now on it'll be 3 days of aerobics, 2 days of weights. Thank God tomorrow is a weights day, the aerobics are kicking my butt! | |||

| jen, that's hard for me to answer. Maybe a little of both. I know she ate healthy cereal for breakfast at times, or a half of a bagel. For lunch she'd eat a half of a peanut butter sandwich, and for dinner she'd eat what she normally cooked, just really tiny portions. For snacks she'd drink hot tea or sugarfree hard candy. Otherwise, I don't know what else she ate.
I think if you lose weight but keep the "good" fats, the hair loss shouldn't be a problem. She hardly had any fat whether it was good or bad, plus like I said, it was starting before she started dieting. Me, I'm only 26 and can see some scalp in the front! So I'm also scared of losing more though I think someone told me vitamins could help with that too. |

| It's funny because I said the same thing today. I gained 2 lbs, but I really think it's from going to the gym. If you're eating healthier, going to the gym, and still gaining weight more than likely it's muscle. As far as when weight will start coming off...I don't know. I haven't made it that far yet. | |||

| Well here I am again, killing time before going to the gym. It's funny, I really like going now. I was so nervous when I first started because it is a co-ed gym. I've learned that even if people stare at me, so what, I'm not there for them I'm there for me.
I'm amazed at how many people reply to posts. That is very encouraging :) I don't feel llike my messages get lost amongst the board. I'm also glad I'm not alone in being so overweight. Maybe I'll get the guts to upload a picture of myself. Perhaps I'll wait until I've lost some weight and have a small before and after picture. Again I'm very thankful for the support and it's really nice to be able to talk about weight issues to people who understand. Most of my friends are all thin and don't understand what it's like. |

| I'm obsessed with this site! I've been roaming the pages here for hours now, there is just so much to see. I wish I would have found this place earlier, but better late than never.
Thanks for all the welcomes and well wishes :) I am very proud of myself for joining the gym and actually going, but I just can't get this food obsession under control. I feel hungry all the time even right after I eat. I find I have to ignore the hunger or I'd just eat all the time. I know it's my addiction and damn it's hard to break. Hopefully this site and all of you will be motivation enough. Thanks again. |

| It's funny because growing up I never had problems w/schoolmates calling me names. It was always my family. My sister doesn't call me by name, she calls me gordita(which is spanish for fat girl) and so does my dad.
When I went to Puerto Rico back in '98 to visit my dad, I saw an uncle who hadn't seen me since I was 2. I was 18 at the time. He came in with a big hug for me, and a kiss. He held me at arm's length and said, "Oh my God, I haven't seen you since you were 2! You have a beautiful face, but you need to lose some weight." Nice way to greet a family member you haven't seen in 16 years... Anyway I get called fat by my dad and sis whenever I talk to them on the phone. Which I try to limit to a few times a month. |

| utahangel22- if you don't mind my asking, what do you weigh now and how long did it take you?
obsidyan-wow! I don't think I could cut down that many calories, heh. Here it says to eat 2,950 calories to lose 1-2lbs per week. I'm hoping with all this exercise, I'll lose more lbs than that a week with 2000 calories. |
