I have a wedding this weekend, and thanksgiving, so its prob not going to be an ideal weekend, but I'll plan on being good. Keep it up everyone and I'll make the effort to post more frequently! |

Shizzi: A wedding is a great motivator! You need to look foxy in your bridemaid dress =] And way to go in throwing away the cake. I HATE throwing away food, but sometimes you have to for your sake, and that of others. I love going to stores and discovering that I fit into their clothes. I'm still at the high end though, and usually cannot fit into the jeans =[ But I will, I've jumped back on the wagon like for reals this time haha MrsD: Sounds like you had a great workout! You are in beast mode! haha the food you make always sounds so good, and healthy! Hhdrgnfly: There is no better feeling than when your jeans start to sag and/or fall off =] I LOVE buying new clothes (even though I usually don't have the $ to do so lol). You seem to be making some progress, keep it up hun :) Well guess who made it to gym the last 2 days??? ME! I am SOOOOOO sore, I skipped the gym today, my poor thighs are thankful for that. But I managed to go Tue and Wed and had great workouts, I was still able to run at the usual speed as before and I am happy to see I am not too out of shape, even with the 5 week hiatus. Idk what it is, but I just talked to myself and was like you need to start doing something , otherwise you're not going to lose and you will stay here forever! I am really mean when I talk to myself, tough love =] But yeah I have been eating like I did before, not snacking or eating crap. I am so happy. I weighed myself this morning and I was at 240.8, that's 2 pounds down from last Wednesday, so finally some progress. I'll weigh in next Wednesday and see what progress I've made. I am going to my dad's this weekend, need to be conscious of what I eat while I am at home. I don't eat too much when I am at home usually, it's just always bad food. So I have to make the effort to cook, rather than going out to eat. I think I am back people =] One week is not enough to be sure, but its a start. I am so excited for New Year's (yeah I skipped Thanksgiving and X-mas lol). I want to lose another 15 pounds by new years, that would be a great way to start the new year, with momentum. I need to be focused and I should also think about what I want to look like on new year's I want a hot little dress ;) Well I am ahead of myself, let's just focus on next week, let's lose AT LEAST 1.5 pounds. I can do that. We all can. |

MrsD: I like that...ELEMDD! Haha, I'll try telling myself that today at the gym, yes I am FINALLY going to the gym...you seem to be on a roll, 7 days straight?!? Awesome, I need to take your mantra and use it as my own, keep up the good work, you sound like the old MrsD =] Well I am going to the gym in like half an hour, I am so stoked! haha finally to be back in that environment...honestly, nothing compares. I want to work out everyday for the rest of the week. No pain, no gain (or loss!). I ate very well yesterday and plan on eating well today =] This is going to be a great week, I can tell already! Keep it up ladies, let's work hard, and if you've been working hard already, work a little bit harder, I know you can! |

Man I had a great weekend, which also means super calories!!! But I will buckle down...I swear! I'm gonna put some halloween pics up =] I had a blast, it was crazy, fun, funny, scary everything Halloween is supposed to be! I have decided to weight myself weekly, try and change things up a bit and see how that goes. I failed at the challenge last week =[ My workout routine starts today...TODAY! I also have decided to cut back on the smoking and drinking...I want to say that I am not smoking at all, but we shall see. Maybe once a week?? I should just cut it out at least for a few weeks until I get completely back on the train. And the drinking has to cut back as well...I think a month of sobriety is in line...I really want to lose some pounds ASAP. So there it is...no alcohol, no smoking...so excuses =] Hope everyone had an awesome Halloween! Can't wait for next year =] |

Tannis: I agree with you, it's your body and you are not hurting it, it's not like youre under 100 pounds or anything. People are seriously just afraid of change. When I went vegetarian a month ago, my family freaked. My dad especially was like why don't you just eat a little meat...I was like cuz I don't want to. I don't know if this was how you was when you met them, but in my experience change has not always been met with encouragement, I guess it's scary and sometimes people feel you are changing as an individual, rather than something in your lifestyle...even though it might be both...
I have nothing to report... I watched the Biggest Loser last night and that always motivates me! So let's try this, I am going to report my weight on here on Wednesday...I weigh myself daily, but will try to look at my week critically weekly. Wednesday was my old weigh-in day, it's in the middle of the week, so it works away from the weekend. Goal is to get some running in today after I come back from school. =] |

Shizzi: Sorry I've been in and out, I am so ready for this challenge! I need to pick up the exercise! Today I had to take my car to a body shop not too far from my place, and since I knew I would have to leave my car, I ran home =] It was probably like a 10 minutes run, but better than nothing, and a great way to start my day. I think I am going to run in the mornings, it will give me energy and I won't have the excuse of being tired from the day's activities. Tomorrow I'll run 2 miles in the morning, which translates to about 25 minutes if I am as good as I used to be :P I'll make up for the other minutes by walking on campus =]
Nothing really new with me, some days I eat well, others not so well...I bought my Halloween costume! I'm happy that I fit into one at the store, so thats a milestone, even though it is XL, I'll take it! I think about next year and how awesome it will be to be a L...that's progress. It's super cute, I'll post pics once my entourage is all dressed up.
The exercise has to kick in, there is no other way I can do it! I think after Halloween I am doing no alcohol or smoking MJ, I need to clean my body and prepare for the holiday season. We still have a few months left in the year, let's go out with a bang! We should make New Year's resolutions, for things we would like to change BEFORE the new year, you know, get a head start.... I need a good week this week... |

Well I am very sad right now, of course it's sports related so it has no REAL effect on my life...but I am still saddened....gosh Dodgers, really? REALLY?!? One another note, up to the end of the game, today has been a fabulous day! I ate within my calorie range, woke up an got some exercise, all in all a great way to start off Monday. Shizzi: I think that your idea of ~32min of cardio/day (225 minutes for the week) is fabulous! I will aim for 45, but will not be saddened if I get above 30. Baby steps right? Tannis: Sometimes I get unreasonably hungry as well. I have days where I can not stop thinking about food (usually bad food too) and I act on my cravings. IDK what to tell you besides choosing healthier snack options (fruits n veggies). We all have food issues and have gone through similar things. You need to chill out and not act on everytime you think you're hungry. Easier said than done, believe me, I KNOW!
Tomorrow will be another running in the neighborhood day. I can actually go to the gym on Wednesday, where I plan to work my butt off! Wed-Fri should be rather intense. |

I am back from my Vegas trip, it was AWESOME! But being Vegas, I splurged, gained a little (as expected) but am back to my normal life. I ran a mile this morning when I woke up since I won't have time later to hit the gym. Shizzi: 5 days in a row is exactly what I NEED! Keep it up girl =] I want to do some form of exercise every weekday this week, and seeing that you did it, makes me really wanna do it! MrsD: I imagine having children is something that takes a lot of energy and patience. You seem like an awesome mom, always there for your children. That's what mom's are for, right? Keep on that workout MrsD, we need to all get the eye of the tiger again! Vegas is over, now I can concentrate on my eating and this week I will finally reincorporate exercise into my life. Honestly, I've missed it, so it will be nice to get back in shape again. Have a great day! =] |

So I had a short day =] I ate a pretty big lunch, so that means I have to be careful with dinner to still be in my ideal range, I have about 600 calories left haha, I wonder what my roomie is cooking... It's raining...I know you guys might experience REAL weather, but for SoCal this is weather haha...and I HATE it! I HATE the rain, it's not cool no matter what ppl say lol. I hate being wet and driving, omg LA rain is the worst, so many accidents...I was watching this documentary on female body builders and it got me in the mood to work out! Haha, I don't want to put on nearly as much muscle as those women, but just seeing them in the gym, doing squats and what not, made me really miss the gym...I swear, starting on Monday I WILL start going to the gym again (I can't tomorrow because of the NLCS GO DODGERS! and I cannot Friday cuz I am leaving to Vegas right after class). I have to stay the extra hour or two, it's not gonna kill me and I'll love myself more =] So that's where I am as of this morning... |

MrsD: We can never give up, cuz you're only letting yourself down. You were a beast MrsD! haha those "monster" workouts lol we all have to get back to primetime and hold it down for ourselves...reading your past and reflecting on mine really is helpful, I have some extra motivation for the day =] Shizzi: I find it hard to distinguish feeling fat and tall...I was always BIG I guess so they kinda mush together. And my family never let me forget how tall I was lol. Mmmm BBQ sounds soooo good! *drools* You be a good girl! Well yesterday was good until later that night. My roommate and I got the munchies and I thought I would be able to control them, but I couldn't. I had a big stick and goldfishes. It's not that bad, but I could have done without it for sure....my weight didn't change though...darn those muchies...it's my fault though, I should have known...But I am still counting my cals, I need to include my munchies next time I know I am going to have them haha and I know ahead of time if I am gonna have them ;) |

HistoryInc: I started exactly where you are at now. I had been wanting to lose weight since I was about 13, and not until I was 20 did I make a true effort to realize my dreams. I have lost 40 pounds since 2008 and I am so much happier now compared to if I had not lost weight or *gasp* continued to gain. I too had a busy undergraduate schedule, but I made it work. When I am at my best I eat between 1500-1700 calories, and I am satisfies. HOnestly I find I have to be in the right state of mind to get anything done. You've made the first step by joining CC, but now you have to sit down and think of what you're willing to sacrifice, what you want, why you want it and your game plan for getting there. In weight loss, nothing comes easy. Even after almost 2 years of gradually losing weight I become discouraged and hit the wall, but the key is to not let go forever. I look forward to hearing about your progress and everyone in this group is amazing and extremely helpful. =] I came home to dirty dishes! Grrr...I have 3 roommates...they lag it sometimes and I hate it! But its all good, I know I have days when I "forget" to do my dishes, but come on! I can't wait to live on my own =] I <3 my roomies, but I wish they cleaned a little more... Today was rainy...which means no running for me, I am so scared of falling in the rain, I think cuz when I was younger my sister fell while it was raining and dislocated her elbow...I have eaten very well so far, lots of fruits for snacks =] I am starting dinner, let's try and be good! |

Shizzi: I am so with you on eating being my problem! It so is, I can work out like a freaking horse, but I cannot control what and how much I eat sometimes...That's why I NEED to count my cals, at least to jumpstart my weight loss...I have not lost any weight since the end of July...=[...but thats about to change ;)
I did extremely well yesterday =]. It's too early to even think that I am losing weight, I need a week long effort to see some weight loss that is not simply my weight fluctuating. I weigh daily still, but I won't take it too serious until the week mark and I see some weight loss. I feel good =]. Today is not too long of a day, thank heaven, I am so tired and its only Tuesday???? FML. |

Tannis: I JUST NOW saw your wedding photos, you looked AMAZING! You are absolutely gorgeous =] Get into your routine and maybe make it a personal goal to try and restrain yourself next time he is on town, which will prob be hard since you don't see him too much.
Laura: I hope all goes well with the Dr. I am not a fan of coffee, which is good, cuz those people that are seem to have a hard time letting go lol. Mmmm the shepherds pie sounds delish! I've never had it, but my roomie's grandma is from England and she apparently makes it all the time, I'll have to have him bring me some next time.
Shizzi: I inherited all my dads fave sports teams, but the NFL ones never stuck...You know I'm a big Dodgers fan, playoffs baby! Oh and I did not drink enough water today, I ONLY drank water today, but not enough, so I am trying to hydrate myself now that I am home. Gym, good girl! I am too tired, I get out so late Mondays...tomorrow..I WILL do some sort of physical activity! Well my day went well. I ate lots of fruits and after I put my dinner in my log I should be good. =] Now that was not so hard was it?? I forget that this whole weight loss thing is not hard AT ALL. It's just the willingness to change. I hope I can keep up my enthusiasm and motivation, and I hope all of you follow me in this. Tomorrow is a new day, I'm gonna plan my meals right now =]

Mihaela: Welcome to the group! We share similar stats so we can use each other as support since we"re in the same spot in our weight loss. From your plan, I say the 3 square meals is good, but try and have like a few healthy snacks throughout the day to prevent you from getting too hungry between meals, which will help diverge the chance that you'll overeat during your meals. Can't wait to see your progress =] Shizzi: Come on honey we're starting fresh! Last weekend was last weekend, focus on this week. I wish I liked football as much as everyone else! LA does not have a football team so I am not really interested in it. My dad likes the Redskins haha but then again he likes all sports teams... I need to grab myself a glass of water... Laura:: Don't worry about it babe, one bad weekend is not gonna kill us (otherwise I would have died long long ago) Well starting this Monday morning off right! Haha I had my cereal, I measured everything! In addition to the group goal of ONLY water consumption, I have made it my personal goal to write everything I eat, which I have not done in ages. This should be an awesome week, Vegas this Friday =] I went out this past weekend and I can feel the confidence in me growing =] Even though I have not lost weight in a while, the weight I have lost is finally catching up to me, I feel confident, sexy, all of the above lol. Of course I am still a bit self conscious, so I am trying to get past that so I can LIVE MY LIFE! Well cheers to a brand new week, let's focus! |

| Shizzi: I think the water is a great idea, but I already only drink water lol can we do that AND the caloric intake one, that one will be way harder for me and its prob what I need to jumpstart myself. But I'm in for whatever. Oh and short guys are not always invisible to me :( I crushed on this guy who is like 5'9", two inches shorter, but he was awesome haha.
Well I did not end up going to the game after all yesterday, which I totally regret! Omg it was the best game EVER! Enough of that haha. I did not run :( I was so exhausted last night, I am not used to waking up early at all. I agree wth shizz and we should get something figured out to start monday. I really want to count my calories again, so that's definitely a personal goal. I am on my way to school as we speak, I hope to have a chill day. Good luck to all you ladies :) |

Shizzi: I love mini challenges!!! I am so competitive and you girls are great competition, so I'm in. I like the workout challenges, since I have not been working out at all. And as far as racing, I did a mile last week in 10 minutes, so I am still in decent shape I suppose. But I want to run longer, harder and faster!!! Oh and the baby thing, I am always saying how I want a baby, lol but I think its usually when I ovulate haha can't fight nature. And you writing that I weighed 260 this time last year made my day...I'm so proud of myself and all of you =] We ARE doing this! MrsD: I love meat like you too! But I went a month without it and it was not that bad. I found myself eating lots of bread and cheese to make up for it though =/ So I am eating poultry now. I need to explore the fish possibilities out there, fish is sooo good for you!
So I went to the Dodger game last (where's my Card fan at? :P) and it was AWESOME! It was sloppy, but great haha. I need to get a workout in today, in some way shape or form, probably just through running around the neighborhood...the key is, I HAVE to do it and not just say it. First step in regaining my confidence and motivation is making plans and keeping them. If I say I am going to do some sort of physical activity, I have to do it, no excuses. I am still on my period so once thats done I will have a more accurate read of where I am at. I have to control my food, count the cals and workout. On another note, I started my teaching credential/masters program and we have to go to schools 3 days a week, which means I have to wake up at like 6AM on those days, which means I am so tired! Haha welcome to adulthood right? Ooooh and I am going to Vegas next Friday for a cousins birthday, which should be super exciting! I have my outfits lined up =] I am ready to go down a size, whose with me??? Goal of the Day: Run 2 miles |

HEY EVERYONE! Sorry I have been MIA for about a month now I think, I've been so busy with school and moving and other stuff, but now I am back and ready to finish what I started. To report, I have been in the 238-240 range since I came back from Mexico in late August, which is good considering I have rarely worked out and have not been eating the best. I tried vegetarianism for a month and it went well. However, I have decided to continue to eat poultry because I just cannot lose weight on a veggie diet. You think I would be able to, but I just eat carbs and cheese and its not pretty. I think by having my turkey sandwiches and eating chicken will help me to feel fuller and not eat those other things as much. I have committed to eating no beef since the environment was my reason for trying out vegetarianism so we'll see how that goes. I have not read the previous posts, but I will. Just wanted to come back, I will start posting regularly as I once did. This forum helps so much and without you ladies I am not on top of my fitness or eating habits. I NEED you guys! Well here's to a new beginning (once again lol). Halloween is coming!!!!! |

Debbie: Haha I meant just that, not eating simply more bad snacks or adding cheese to things to make them higher calorie. I found myself doing that when I tried to increase but then figured out the healthier way of doing it by eating more fruits. Wow, 6 months is a long time! I find already that it makes me feel better, just more healthy if that makes any sense. I plan on doing it for a month and then seeing what I want to do, either continue or allow myself meat a few times a week. We shall see.... I ate a green salad for lunch and since I don't like any dressings, it was dry, yet delicious. I do like it, I don't love it like I love other foods, but its not bad. Pleanty of vegetables, although I did add some avocado which is not the best but not the worst. No croutons either =]. My roommate is making some vegan thing for dinner, I am kind of scared, but optimistic. Let's hope it's not disgusting! haha. I am so mean. Well Still looking forward to that run later on, I'm thinking 2 miles, although its been a while since I've ran. I can walk if I get too tired, but I think my body can pull this off. |

Aherbert2: I found that increasing my calories after I had been on a lower calorie diet helps to boost the weight loss again. Of course don't do it with bad foods, just try and eat an extra apple or banana or green salad to help you lose. Good luck. I am into day 3 of vegetarian lifestyle. To some it may not seem like a big deal, but I am a MEAT eater so this is a very drastic change. And I am not being a "bad" vegetarian and eating more bread to count for the lack of meat, I am eating a variety of vegetables that I never ate before, and so far so good =].
Exercise is still on hiatus...why??? Laziness mostly. Maybe I can get a good run in today before the day is out. It will help me get to know my surrounding neighborhood better since I just moved here last Saturday. I am feeling good, my digestive system seems to be working better and I feel lighter, even though I have not been able to weigh myself :(...next week I'll get my scale. Well here's to eating healthy! Work hard ladies, it's the only way I've seen it work =] |

ChiPanda: Aww that sucks you're leaving Cali, but I hope you enjoyed it while you were here. Yeah I am doing a veg diet for a month. I want to cut back on meat and eat different kinds of foods. Oh and I totally feel you on it being cheaper sometimes. I've bought some really cheap produce in the past. But day on is down, haha only 30 more to go :P Salandra: Way to go on the weight loss! Yes it is a long journey, but one thats worth it for sure. I'm sorry to hear about your friend, I tend to be an emotional eater too at times. It distracts me from what is the problem at hand. Laura: It's good to hear you're back at work! Sorry about the bloating :( You just need to get back into your rhythm and you'll be fine. You've come so far! And you'll be under 200 in no time babe. So I am one day into my vegetarian diet and I feel good lol. The real test will come during the weekend when I go home for a birthday party. I am cooking though, so it won't be too hard to make something for me lol. I was not able to weigh myself this morning. My friend took her scale back (I borrowed it last year) so I am scaleless :( Just waiting to get paid so I can buy a new one, but this week should give me time to drop whatever weight I had gained in the last week. I have not been loggin in my cals, but I know I should. Just because its vegetarian does not mean its good for you! Hello CHEESE! haha. But yeah I bought a lot of fruit and veggies =] Now if I can work in the exercise, I'll be solid! School starts 2 weeks from tomorrow, so I wanna lose a few pounds before then, but without a scale its hard to tell how much I am losing. Oh well, when I get on I hope to be pleasantly surprised. Good luck to you all =] |

| Ok I have been lurking around the group but have not been updating daily. That is going to change this month. This upcoming month is going to be a big one for me. I started my vegetarian diet today and am going to continue it for a month. I will weigh myself tomorrow to have my starting point and I am looking to lose between 5-8 pounds this month. I have not read your guys' posts but will once I have time. Good luck to everyone and let's do this :) | |||

Thinren: Being Mexican, I know exactly the whole short Latino thing, my family is like wtf happened to you?? haha I love wearing heels too! I am like eff this, I want to look great, even if it means being taller than most guys. Heels are hot. I too want to shed some pounds before Halloween. Good luck and I hope to hear more from you. MrsD: It is frustrating not being able to lose. I feel that starting this vegetarian diet and also moving into my new place will help. it's like a new beginning. They always say that you don't have to make changes on Mondays or the beginning of a month, but I cannot seem to focus without doing so. So monday its on again. Food, gym the whole sha bang bang. MrsD I know you have the capacity to get back to your lowest and go lower. Plan your meals ahead of time, it'll help a lot. Come on, we can do this! Tannis: I'm so sorry you have so much stress going on. I don't think I could maintain my weight loss routine with all that going on. I think maybe once your wedding is over you will be able to concentrate on weight loss better, without so much pressure. I hope that all goes well with your final fitting. You can go hardcore from now until your wedding, I know you can fit into that dress. you're going to look beautiful regardless, I'm sure of it =] Jkserig: Welcome! I am 22 years old and looking to lose about that much as well. Post whatever you feel like posting, the group is very open. Looking forward to hearing more from you. Ok, so vegetarianism starts Monday =] I am so excited about this. Everyone is like you're crazy, but I think its exciting. I mean it's a lot to give up, but I know I can do it. I hope I don't hate it and can continue after the month. I want to really cut down on my meat consumption, so this seems like a way to jump start that. Wish me luck gals =] I weighed at 237.8 this morning, so nothing has changed. I don't want to go on a meat binge the rest of the week...but I am scared I am going to. Ok I know I've said this before, bur this time its for reals. I am going become a vegetarian. IDK if this is forever, but I definitely want to try it out. It's healthier and better for the environment. I made some vegetarain enchiladas last night and they were BOMB! I want to make the same foods I always made, but just try and find good meat substitutes.I have a feeling I'll be asking Chipanda for some recipes and/or tips. I am going to miss meat for sure. I have technically not started, but think I may start within the upcoming week. My goal is to last a month, which is a long time. If the month is not horrible, then I may consider continuing. I have not decided if I want this as a life long. Mostly I want to decrease my consumption of meat. If I can go and eat meat maybe once a week for the rest of my life, I would be happy. But for the first month I plan on going all in and not eating any meat at all. We'll see how it goes =] I think once I start that, my motivation will come back. This is exciting! I think I need something new like this to help me start again. I'll let you know when I actually start how it goes. But for now more research! I have not gained any weight amazingly, staying around 238... |

Ok so I have still not committed myself to losing weight. I know when I am committed because its all I think about and I am very good when I am on. What has prevented my commitment?? It's a combination of partying and just not caring. I need to buckle down and get started. This is the last week I have at my apt before I move. I live right in downtown Westwood near UCLA and am going to miss the shops, bars, restaurants etc. My roommates and I have made the choice to try and go to every happy hour this week as well as eat at our fave places. As of this moment, I want to say no and get started on the weight loss but at the same I don't want to throw this away. Maybe I can find some middle ground. Ohh and I am in SoCal so the fires have really make the air quality poor so I am scared of exercising. I am not upset I am just sort of frustrated with my inability to commit myself. School starts in 3 weeks...let's see if that's enough motivation. |

OK so I went down 0.2 from yesterday. So pretty much stayed the same. I went out with friends last night, which meant alcohol...I really need to commit myself to about 3 weeks not alcohol to jumpstart the weight loss. It really helped and work when I did it last month. I saw results. I think after this Saturday I will implement something. Hmmm... I am not feeling the gym right now. I feel super lazy and don't want to go. IDK what it is. It has been a while so I just get my tush there and it won't be so bad I just know it. My vacation is over! I have to get that into my head. School starts in a month...I want to be at least 6 pounds lighter than I am now, 8 would be ideal and 10 would be fantastic! But I need to put forth the work and effort if I expect to see any results. No excuses. |

Salandra: I have the same problem with post-dinner munchies! It never fails. I always want to eat something after dinner, around 10 o clock. As a college student I don't have regular sleeping hours, so I find myself awake in the late hours and I always find myself craving stuff thats not necessarily good for you. I've been trying to satisfy my cravings with healthy foods, mostly fruit. But every now and again, I succumb to my cravings. Congrats on the 2.2 pounds, its always nice to go down a good amount of weight. Debbie: I like what you said about losing the 29 pounds in intervals. Like you, I did not lose my 40 pounds in one go either. I can honestly narrow it down to about a six month period where I lost that weight. Roughly from 1/08-4/08 and 1/09-4/09 haha, I think I am seeing a trend...I guess the New year's stuff gets me super excited and I make great progress but fall off around April. The good news is that I don't gain back the weight I have lost in those 4 months in the other 8 months of the year. But if I can make a last minute surge in the latter part of this year, I can come out winning BIG (or small?) time. oh and buy the clothes that are right for you! Like your mother said, just because you're planning on losing weight in the future does not mean you should put your appearance on hold. It's something I struggle with, I always have this vision of the future and how I am going to look that I forget about the present and how I look now. Don't sell yourself short, buy clothes that FIT! Laura: How fun! New clothes is always something good. You are going to look fabulous when you get back to work! You have worked so hard and honestly you deserve everything. I am so happy for you and cannot wait to see pictures of you in your fitted dresses!! You are going to look fierce! I weighed myself this morning and sitting at 239.4. Under 240! So thats the good news. Bad news is idk where all my gym clothes is...I think I may have mixed it up with my sisters clothes...or its in my locker, I can't remember. So no workout today, but tomorrow I will do some sort of physical activity. Plan for the day is to log my cals. I hope my weight goes down a good amount this week, hopefully some of its water weight...we shall see. |

Mermaid: Hey there! how awesome, we have similar stats! 40 pounds is a good amount of weight to have lost and kept off. I think my key to successful weight loss was letting myself take a break. I tend to plan my meals rather obsessively, so I like to try and take one week out of a month, to chill out. That does not mean pig out, but just not count or measure my food. I have an idea of how much I should eat so I don't go over much. it helps me keep my sanity and provides me the energy needed to continue with a healthier diet. I don't do anything "special", besides count cals and work out. I have never taken diet pills or food replacements or anything like that. I try and have a balanced meal, eat throughout the day to keep the metabolism up. I LOVE working out at the gym, it gives me extra motivation seeing the others in the gym. I want to try running again, I had been running but I went on vacation about 3 weeks ago so I am out of shape by now. At the gym I typically run 10-15 minutes to warm up, then do weights (legs & abs or arms & back), and then I end it with cardio again roughly 30-50 minutes. it all depends on how I feel. I wish you the best of luck! The biggest advice I would give would be to really think about what you want. I've learned to look at this as a lifestyle change. I want to be healthier, not only thinner. Also, when you do fall off, and you will, we ALL do, get back up. Don't let the disappointment of gaining or not losing as much as you like prevent you from losing the weight. Weight loss is a journey of plateaus. Please keep up in the forum, I would love to hear about your progress and I want to share mine with you! Together we can lose a great deal of weight by the end of the year =] |

Welcome to the new gals! Salandra: You seem to have a great workout regiment going on! And you've already lost weight in the past so you must have been doing something right. I too went on a binge these last 2 weeks, thankfully only gained about 3 pounds, but that sets me back a week, 2 weeks since I have to lose those 3 pounds. I look forward to hearing more from you. Debbie: Great job on the weight loss! You've made some great progress. I am sure you will be ravishing in your sister's wedding photos. That sucks about your not being able to work out, but at least it has not hindered your weight loss too much. Well to catch y'all up on me, I am 22 years old, 5'11" and am sitting at a hefty 240 pounds as of this morning. I started CC back in january of 2008 at 280, so I have lost some weight too, slowly, but surely. My ultimate goal is to be 180. I think at that weight I'll be happy with myself, but we shall see. I just log my calories and work out, nothing too fancy. I plan to lose 8-10 pounds before I begin school again, so this next month should be rather intense. I look forward to reading more of everyone's posts. Summer may be gone, but that doesn't mean we should stop working for those bikini bodies!!!! Best of luck to you all =] |

Hey All! I am finally back in CC world. I got back from mexico on Tuesday, but just now had the chance to post. Shizzi: I think a break may be something you need. I hope you come back to us in September with good news. Good luck hun! Laura: Hey, I did not read all the previous posts, but I assume your surgery went well as you are now chilling watching TV. I loved the biggest loser too! It makes me super jealous how fast they lose the weight, but its not practical. If we all had four months to dedicate to weight lost alone, we'd all be having an easier time. MrsD: Dancing sounds like a great exercise! Something to end the night, I like it. Tannis: Don't be so hard on yourself! I am sure you're going to look fabulous at your wedding. Just because this goal in your life has come, doesn't mean you can't lose the weight. Well I am back from Jala, I had a blast, it was like living in a different world, but now I am back to MY world =]. Nothing really to mention, except that I only gained about 3 pounds from the trip! I am so happy with that, I was expecting far worse. The annual fair is in town, so I will start being good on monday. I am going to do what I always do, gym and eating healthy portioned meals. I am excited to get back into the losing weight state of mind. It's still premature, but I hope to lose about 8 pounds before the beginning of school in a month. Can we do it??? YES WE CAN! =] Happy to be back! |

Shizzi: haha I'm glad I didn't drown too. I hate when water throws the scale off, and esp when you NEED to have a good weigh in otherwise your day is shot. 10 pounds in August sounds intense, but with the right state of mind, I know you can do it. When I get back from Mexico, I will jump on the train for the remaining 2 weeks and hopefully lose whatever I gain (hopefully its not too much!). MrsD: Wow, sounds like you had a great mini-vacation! That sucks about your phone, that is something I would do lol. Nothing like stocking up on healthy food, getting ready to get back into it. I'm sure the vacation was nice, sometimes I need a vacation from all this. It helps you keep your sanity and you don't deprive yourself so much. Good luck!
Well I am leaving for Mexico on Tuesday (so excited!). I haven't been on too much this week because I pretty much took the week off. I think when I get back from Mexico I am going to try to change the way I go about things. I think I am going to go all in, hardcore for 3 weeks (no drinking, intense workouts etc.) and then I am going to take a week off. I won't necessarily go crazy, but I'll change some of the things I eat and I won't log it in. It gives me a physical and mental release from dieting. I'll go to the gym every other day, not too intense, and then it'll start over and I'll go 3 weeks hard. That's basically what I did for July and I feel great about it. I haven't gone to the gym at all this week and have not logged any cals, but I'm maintaining my weight. I think this break will really help to stay motivated. Well thats just something I thought of a few days ago, we'll see how it goes. I hope for August to lose one pound. After the weight I gain, I want to be at a net loss of one pound by August 30. Let's see how it goes =] |
