Old fashioned oats really stick to my ribs in the morning. Especially when I put 1T of natural Peanut butter. YUm...and a banana, 1/2T honey. is just fabulous. I love bulking out stirfries, noodle dishes withe peanut sauce or soups with cabbage. Roasted cauliflower is great. Jiffy pop makes this 94%FF kettle corn that is really low in calories and very tasty. I chug lots of water with it and by the time I'm done I feel like a swollen tick. Keeps me from binging on less healthy things. |

safina... Tell you what. I said "no" to food for 10 days. I can say "no" to anything now. I still have to recognize the signs of a binge coming on...get a little panicky, anxious, "have to have it" sort of feeling. And then I just say, calm down and can remove myself from the situation. So yes. It definitely got me off of salt/sugar cravings and yes. I feel like I am in control of my emotional eating. I still get emotional though. Typical food addict. |

I did it for 10 days. I did it to kind of reset my gauges and get control over my binging, cravings, etc. I felt really good almost the whole time. Day 8 and 9 were grueling just because I got so bored with the same flavor, over and over again. Yes, I agree with previous posters. I thought the lemonade tasted great. I did not have these fantastical eliminations like you read on some websites. It is a strange thing that you still poop some solids, minimal for me, when you aren't eating a thing. The most amazing change for me? My skin was absolutely glowing, smooth and soft. I don't know if it was because I was very hydrated or because I had eliminated something inflammatory. Probably a combo. I also discovered, when reintroducing new foods after the cleanse, that like many people. My body does not like dairy products. I feel very sluggish after eating meat. I eat meat and dairy only once a week or so now. I crave salads for the first time. I have also kicked my occasional smoking habit. I'm not promoting it. I was just looking for some sort of religious experience or something. Next time I might try a different kind of "cleanse"...maybe go raw vegan for a period of time. IF you do this. Buy extra toilet bowl cleaner. |

Yeah, I don't know why we feel that way. I totally understand. I never take 48 hours off though. If I'm only working out 5 days a week, I break up my off days. Sometimes on my off days I'll still take a brisk walk after dinner. That way I don't feel roly poly. |

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/26839368/ That's the link to the 11 metabolism myths segment on the today's TODAY SHOW. Really interesting. Talks about..."is celery a negative calorie food? Do chili peppers raise your metabolism? Does drinking ice cold drinks burn more calories?" Fun fact stuff. |

Up again *sigh* 143.3lbs. Oh well. Lynn, you do such a great job with this forum. Thank you for all your hard work. Especially with all the things going on with your uncle. Don't forget to ask for help and allow someone to take care of YOU. If you're like me, having a good workout clears my head and relieves stress and it I know you are getting out there. I saw a good segment on weightloss diet myths on the Today show this morning. I will post the link! Congrats to all you Monday losers! Big Loser is on tonight. I'm excited. |

My Monday weigh in...yeah, I know it is Tuesday, is 142.5. I'm down a whole pound! This week's focus for me. No eating under the gun. I am so busy and I find myself scarfing food down. I'm anxious while I'm eating it. Not enjoying it and I don't think my brain realizes that something is in my stomach...so, I start looking around for more food. Not so good. Weekends are so hard! I had a bridal shower and football party and well, lets just say I enjoyed myself. Oh, well, I worked out 6 days last week so that must have offset things since I'm down a pound. Sounds like everyone is doing great, remember, even 1 ounce less, is still LESS! Hang in there. Great tips Lynn! |

| I really like that idea of weighing in Monday and Friday. Weekends are definitely a challenge for me.
Kinda weird... If I'm losing weight, it motivates me to stay on track. But if I'm gaining, I feel discouraged and don't stick to "the plan". Strange eh? |

Major challenge of the day. Food day at work! Cinnamonny nut bread, maid rites, weanies, salted nut roll bars, cake, crab rangoon dip, taco dip, taco salad, potatoes au gratin.....(yeah, you crying with me?) I done good. I ate a thumb sized piece of salted nut roll and a thum sized piece of cinnamon nut loaf and walked away...nearly in tears but I did it. And now I'm going to spin class. Whee! |

Marie-v, enough stress? What helps me when I have lots of things going on is to plan in advance. I know it is a pain but if you have your meals/menu/snacks prepared ahead it will help stave off temptation. Also, I see you are going to get-togethers. This is a real challenge for me as well. I allow myself a couple of naughty choices in 2 or 3 bite portions then I walk FAR AWAY from the "spread" other wise I will keep going and going. If I know I'm going to indulge, I try to cut back somewhere the rest of the day. Hope this helps! |

Hope you're not closed yet! My birthday was yesterday...does that appeal to your sense of charity? My biggest challenge? Binging and portion control. I have a healthy palette and enjoy working out. I also have a very roomy/spacious/bottomless stomach. Ugh. I have come a long way though, 200lbs to 144lbs. I had a glimpse of 135 at the end of spring but fell off the band wagon. I am excited to get back on track with this group! I tried on my jeans from last winter...erg, a wee snug for my taste. Tika Age: 32 Weight: 144? I absolutely love my diva cup. There is a long learning curve, but once you figure out what kind insertion method works for you, it is great. I always had to wear a pad with tampons so I wanted to try something different. Every now and again I will leak overnight on my superheavy day, but never during the day, because I can sort of tell when it is getting full. There are some great website resources out there that have good tips on diva cup "training". Just visit google. I have heard that people with IUDs should avoid this method but I have an IUD and I just always check for placement(feel for the IUD strings) and have never had a problem I seriously love it. 1. SAVE $$$ 2. Less waste 3. You don't get dried out from tampons...I think you girls know what I mean 4. Your body doesn't absorb all those horrible chemicals in the tampons 5. Zero/less leaking Email me with q's I don't mind. |

| I am toying with the idea of doing a triathalon at the end of June. Like you, I have about 20 pounds left to shed. I am most intimidated by the open water swim. I have never done the sprint.. I wish they had one in my area to try. There is a small group of us that will begin training next week. Yikes! | |||

Downdeep- I totally know where you're coming from! I'm 31, I have two kids under the age of 4. My hubby and I both work...blah, blah, enough about me. You know, I just started out one step at a time. I didn't exercise and diet at the same time when I first started out. I just started counting calories...the weight started coming off. After a few months of losing I was feeling more motivated to start exercising. My momentum just kept building from there. When I lost a bunch of weight a few years back, I did it the other way around: I just made a commitment to be active 30 minutes a few days a week. I didn't change my eating habits at all. When I started losing weight, it motivated me to eat healthier. Wierd eh? Just a tip. It helped me feel less hungry when I was reducing calories to cut down on refined carbs and up my protein. Keeps your blood sugar level, that way, the hunger pangs are to a minimum.
