| Weight Loss | Weight 120-145: you wanna lose weight or you wanna get smaller? | Jul 02 2007 16:16 (UTC) |

| Haha... I want to lose weight AND get smaller! I am a 16 year old female 5'5" and currently 129.5 lbs. I am trying to get to my goal of 120 lbs, but also would LOVE to go down in clothing sizes. <3
It's super hard, though... losing weight the honest way takes a lot of time and effort! |

| Well, I might be eating less than 1400 calories a day, but I'm not sure. I don't eat too much and it's hard for me to imagine eating more than I already do. I'm trying to eat healthy and I've heard it's best to eat six times a day (small meals) ideally every 2-3 hours? So my resistance level on the elliptical right now is at a ramp of 20 and a level of 6. Should I increase those? Since 2003, starting at 170 lbs, I have lost 40 lbs and am trying to lose the "last ten pounds" to reach my goal of 120 lbs. It seems reasonable for my stats (16 year old female 5'5"). I exercise about 5 times a week. I'm not sure how I could really switch up my regimen. I don't have my permit yet so I can't drive myself to a gym. My parents are just too busy to take me. So I use my elliptical machine in my basement and the Pilate aerobic video tapes. I also have a few weights I can lift. But that's about all I have access to... (Thank you for all your advice!) |

| I went to this site, www.caloriesperhour.com, which calculated my daily calorie intake to be around 1,400 calories though. I put in my weight, height, age, everything! :( And truly, though. I could not eat anymore than I already do. I am quite full after each meal and snack. |

| I went to that website and put in my information as: 16 year old female, height 5'5", weight 132.5 and my ideal weight is approx. 120 lbs. My daily calorie deficit is 729 (in a time span on two months) and my BMR is around 1,400 calories (without adding exercise). Does this mean that I burn 1,400 calories automatically everyday and in order to reach my goal weight in two months I must burn 729 calories per day? Thank you if you can help!!! EDIT: Also... I have been going on my elliptical machine each day for one hour and burn 1,000 calories (I also do 40 min of Pilates). But... if my daily calorie deficit is 729 and I'm burning 271 more calories than I need to, why do you think I haven't lost a single pound? :( |

| Weight Loss | First plateau...what worked for you? | Jun 22 2007 19:06 (UTC) |

| Well, I started my dieting three years ago at 170 lbs. That Summer I lost 30 lbs and went down to 140 lbs. The following Summer I lost another 10 lbs and was at 130 lbs. That's the weight I have maintained for the past year, but I really would like to lose those "last ten pound" to be my three-year dream weight of 120 bs. It just seems like a perfect number for me for some reason.
Well, I did Atkins. I just... did it. And it worked. Low-carb lifestyle with running at the high school track each day. ;) |

| Yes, I would definitely say so. I only have ten pounds to lose, but it is EXTREMELY difficult. I have to go on my elliptical machine for an hour and burn 1,000 calories each morning, then do weight lifts and my two Pilates video tapes for buns & thighs and abs.
It's very hard to stay motivated when I'm losing weight at a terribly slow pace. :( |

| Weight Loss | under 18...buying diet pills | Jun 22 2007 18:50 (UTC) |

| Well, the other day I went to CVS with my mother and I picked out some Hoodia diet pills, but then at the check-out, the woman asked if they were for my mother. "I need some ID," she said. Soooooo... yeah. I think you do at least need someone over 18 to be with you when buying diet pills. |

| Weight Loss | Any info on Lipovox? | Jun 02 2007 17:05 (UTC) |

| Just wanted to note on my progress so far with these diet pills! Well, I started using them on May 31st. The directions say to take 1 - 3 for breakfast and lunch. I decided to do the median at 2 capsules, consuming four in total. It says not to exceed six per day. And you need to drink 24 ounces of water with each intake. I translate that to two cups of water. I had absolutely no side effects or anything unsusual happen. I felt completely normal. I started at 132 lbs on Thursday, went to 131.5 lbs yesterday, and today I am 131 lbs. Maybe the rate of weight loss for me is 0.5 lbs per day. I also have decided to get up at 5:30 AM each morning and run for an hour which burns 1000 calories. I do Pilates after school in the afternoon. |

| I am in the 130's club, but wanted to get into the 120's. ;) I am 130 lbs on the nose! I wish to be 120 lbs so badly, but those "last ten pounds" are a real buggar! I am sixteen years old and 5"5. My doctor says that I'm perfect at 130 lbs. . . but I'd just love to trim up a lil bit and maybe go down a size in jeans? <3 So nice to know others feel the same way! |

| thea8 - we are almost in the exact same situation! I am also 130 lbs and wanting to lose those "last ten pounds." My goal weight has been 120 lbs for the past three years and I have yet to shed it! I went down to 126 lbs for a few days, but my body always levels out at 130 lbs. I don't want to believe this is my natural weight because I'd love to lose just those last ten pounds and KEEP IT OFF. Best of luck to everyone with those stubborn pounds!!! |

| Yes, I've researched them and have found both good AND negative feedback. The fact alone that they are a diet pill, acne clearer, and wrinkle remover all in one can leave a person pretty skeptical. I was actually looking through People Magazine and came across a diet pill called Relacore, but when researching it online I found far too much negative feedback that I went against that one. While browzing, I came across a site called pricesexposed.com or something. It rated Lipovox as #1 out of 100 diet pills due to price, customer satisfaction, etc. One can never be too sure with these diet pills, especially since apparently Lipovox isn't FDA approved. I would like to give it a try, though. So far throughout all the negative feedback I have not come across anything that has been life-threatening to anyone. The worst-case senario is that they didn't lose any weight, but perhaps gained a pound or two and felt a bit fatigued. Well, I shall keep everyone posted! I should say that my curiousity has gotten the best of me and we'll have yet to see what will become of that. Some pills work for some people and not for others. |

| Fitness | when's the best time of the day to excise? | May 29 2007 20:42 (UTC) |

| I have heard that exercising in the morning is the best time of day (rather than afternoon or night). I think this is perhaps because getting your metabolism going early on will keep it moving faster for the rest of the day. But if you simply can't exercise in the morning, exercising in the afternoon or at night is better than not doing it at all! |
