| Weight Loss | Diet Soda Anyone? | Oct 08 2008 03:21 (UTC) |

I had a problem with diet soda but now I limit myself to one a day and it's when i come home from work around 6:15pm. I dont get HUGE cravings/appetites when drinking it. I get small cravings to eat something. once i have dinner the craving passes because i ate... and that's that! I don't see the problem in it in general. If you live in the city the air you breathe is filled with chemicals. Unless you live in a bubble you're in risk for cancer or terrible diseases. (I get REALLY annoyed with people telling me i'm going to get freaking cancer for drinking diet soda! arg!!) Just don't drink a ton of it a day.
I also only use SPLENDA in my COFFEE!! ::gasp:: duh duh duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh! :) |

mocha isnt a flavored syrup really. i mean, it is. but it's the only one that has a lot more calories since there's actual chocolate in it. the others are, as someone said, sugar with artifical color and flavoring. (I am a frequent starbucks-er. haha) |

| Weight Loss | WATER, Bad to drink all at once? | Sep 18 2008 21:04 (UTC) |

8 pints is double what 8 "glasses" is in the US (which is typically around 8oz). so that's not the same thing. but, it's is said that 8 glasses is not necessary because not all of your water intake needs to be from pure water. but, i still like drinking it because it keeps me from being a bloaty mess. tmi? maybe. but it's true :) |

I drink about 3 liters a day. I carry a 1 liter bottle around with me and drink 2 liters while i'm at work and then another 1 liter when i get home. I drink about a half a liter at once. that's only when i'm at work though. when i'm at home i drink about 8-12 oz at a time. dont know if that's good either. :-/ |

Are you referring to a charlie horse? They're most common in calfs and a lot of the time it's due to lack of potassium (and sometimes lack of stretching). I've only witnessed one of my own charlie horses once since i dont get them often (thank god because they're effing PAINFUL) but the muscle freaks out and constricts which makes it look really funny. depending on how bad the charlie horse is the stiffness can last a while. I usually get them pretty bad but once the pain goes away i can use it again after i try to stretch it out or rub it to make the stiffness not as bad |

but here's the catch, thisreal: no pro-choicer would ever say that everyone should have an abortion; pro-lifers have no problem saying that no one should do so. i've never heard an atheist say that everyone should be an atheist, but there are plenty of religious people who believe that everyone else is wrong. as for gun advocates, i don't think they fit the pattern. i think most of them would prefer that they get their guns, but otherpeople (and that's NOT a typ-o) don't.
I completely agree PG. I am pretty hardcore pro choice. but that means I give people the choice of many things I dont believe in as well. That's why i have a beef with pro-lifers (no offense out there, I understand why you believe what you believe in, I just dont think choice should be taken away because you dont believe in it) I now at 23, after 16 years of catholicism, am an athiest. Well, agnostic, kind of. I guess it's more like, religion a la cart. ha. I believe in what has made me stronger and makes sense to me. Either way, i dont believe in god. and when people force their beliefs that are backed by their "morals", it doesnt fly with me. Because if I can push aside my beliefs for them to have a choice, why cant they me? it just makes my heart sad. |

If you believe in guns, don't believe in gay marriage, don't believe in abortions.. fine! But please respect that fact that others have different opinions and instead of pointing fingers at each as to who is right, let's just find some common ground.. and I think Barack Obama can do that.
My thoughts exactly. Everyone has the right to do, or believe what they want but when it comes to social issues, i dont understand how people can think they're right and others are wrong. To me, religion should never be a deciding factor since this nation doesnt all believe in god, or allah, or whoever. I was raised catholic and followed another path while my entire family stayed on the same one. I admire and respect their beliefs and choices and they respect mine. not because they're my family... but because that's peace and understanding. I feel the country should be the same since it is DEFINITELY a melting bot, or was at least. it should be. i'm not saying there shouldnt be order, but i believe that "order" is going way too far in some cases by just banning whatever it is to fix the issues arising instead of finding common ground. |

| Health & Support | Picking Feet - self-mutilation? | Aug 11 2008 13:58 (UTC) |
27 |
| Hey bball. I know for me my picking feet situation is just like my food habits. I have to do anything possible to resist the urge to pick at them. Same as with eating every time i feel like like. I drink water, crochet, go play games on the computer, reading etc. anything that will keep your hands busy and mind off wanting to do it. I've recently started to pick at my feet again. I think it has to do with my feet drying out due to the summer and wearing flip flops. It's been well over 2 years since I've had the problem and it's not as bad now but I find myself making scarves in the middle of august or playing hours of spider solitaire/mah jong (or any other mind numbing addicting game) There isn't much else to do other than this, unfortunately. Self mutilation is often a sign of OCD. I know for me it was. Sometimes it helps to talk to a doctor about to find out what you can do mentally to help yourself out. Hope this helps a little |

| i looooooooooove teavana. they just put one in the mall near my school in CT. they have the cutest tea sets there as for diet soda, i used to drink regular soda... but then i switched to diet and i drank a LOT of it. then i found out it was bad for you so then i went down to 1 can every other day or so. it seems to be working out. BUT, when i started working in boston i started drinking a grande triple non-fat mocha's at starbucks everyday. 250 calories and approx 100 dollars a month. yikes. my new years resolution is to have one of those once a week come Jan 2nd. |

| yah, i was thinking the same. one day wont kill me. i'll just remember it for next time. i ended up having a 1200 deficit because it was already 20 past midnight when i posted and it was time for bed anyway and i didnt want to eat right before i went to sleep. | |||
| Weight Loss | Hiking calories. help please :) | Aug 19 2007 06:29 (UTC) |

| i burned 3100 calories in the day though, so eating 2100 calories would create a 1000 calories deficit. i was under the impression if i ate below a 1000 calorie deficit it would put my body in starvation mode. |
