 My calorie goal is 1400. I plan on excercising at least 30 min per day. and i am hoping to be at my goal weight by July this year. With God's help and strength I know i can do it!!

Hi ya'll! I know what you are going thru Doc! I am not happy to share in your misery tho. In the past 15 months, I have managed to gain 25 pounds. I was down to 170 from 245. My goal is 155. Now I am up to 195. I now have 40 pounds to lose again. Ugh!!! I am very disgusted with my lack of control and especially my laziness. I have been eating bad and not excercising. I know what I have to do and I am hoping that we can encourage each other in sticking to the plan we KNOW works for us. As for me today I ate everything and anything I wanted. I feel like a bloated whale. But I did take a 40 minute walk this afternoon, first time in probably 2 months. I won't throw out all the Christmas goodies untill MOnday because of the family, but my 1400 cal plan and walking program will start tomarrow. Then Monday all sweets will be gone from my house. I am excited for the both of us Doc, I know we can do it. We did it before!!! God Bless Linda

Hi ya'll! I haven't been here in a while, but I am getting back on track starting today. 9 weeks ago I had bunion surgery. So off my feet I was. No excercise to amount to anything for all this time. In the last 2 weeks I started walking a little. Like, 1/2 mile, 20 min up to 40 min., with doctors approval. So this morning I walked 60 min. yah!!! I feel so energized. I have been missing my morning walks so much. Now back to the weigh in. I have gained. I weighed 170 back in September when I had this surgery.

HI ya'll, It is Friday again. I am sorry, I haven't posted in awhile. Last Fri 9-21-07 170 lbs.!!      &nb sp;               &nb sp;               &nb sp;               &nb sp;

 Today fri 9-28-07 ??? I hope no more than 173. Last Friday I had bunion surgery!!! No excercise and well not much moving around. I have a big shoe on and a lot of bandages, so I am not sure of my weight. I am going to be off my feet for at least 6 weeks and I am really going to try and eat right. So, next Fri I will try to post.

HI, I am 5'6. I am here to lose the last 18 pounds. I have lost 72 pounds in the past 2 1/2 years. I am down from 245 to 173 today. Hope by Christmas I can be at my goal! So that will be 155. I wear a size 13/14 but will be happy to be a 11/12 when I reach my goal.(actually, truth be known...I am happy being a 13/14!!!) We shall see tho? God bless linda

Oh boy this was actually a fun thing for me this time. I went and had my drivers liscence renewed and took my picture .....and I look at least 10 years younger now them when I had the last pix taken 5 years ago!!! I am fifty now and I look younger than I did at 45. EVERYONE  tells me so too. Also I had to have my military id renewed, same reason as unicat. I didn't look like that anymore. And I didn't have to lie about my weight!!! It was a good feeling let me tell you. If I knew how to put a picture on my profile I would show my drivers liscence to anyone who wanted to see it. I am not being proud or conceited, please don't get me wrong. I am 50 and I have never looked this good. I have been obese all my life. So Praise the Lord and hope I can keep it off!!! Hi everyone! Well I used to post on the Fri weigh in but have been bad about doing that. I haven't gained many pounds, and did gain about 4. I finally decided I wanted to get this last 20 pounds off of me and I needed to get back on the wagon. So this week I have been eating and counting my correct # of cal. I am at a new low as of Fri morn of 170. I have now lost 75 pounds and have 15 more to go. God Bless each of us on our weight lose goals and acheiving them! Linda

Hi friday weigh -iners! I am sorry I have been off the wagon for a while, but now I am back on track, at least since wed. So that is 3 days. Monday I weighed and I was back up to 177. So I knew I had to mean business and get serious. So I upped my walking from 3.6 miles to 4.8 miles every morning, and cut my calories to between 1300 and 1500. I was guesstimating my cal intake and i wasn't doing too good at it.  So this morning I weighed in at 171. I know most of the weight loss is water weight. Cause  3 weeks ago I was 171.5. So thank God at least I am back where I was. Now I shall get this last 16 pounds off of me. Also I am down 74 pounds now. I has taken me since dec 04. Slow but steady wins the race and this race is going to be for LIFE. God Bless linda

Hey pj, Peanut butter is great unlesss your like me and I can't stop at 1 T!!! Then I have a problem. I eat whole grain bread with 50 cal per slice and I do eat the 100 cal popcorn for snack that is great with the no cal spray butter on it! 1000 cal per day isn't enough. If you added what you just said the fruit and yogurt and maybe the 100 cal popcorn you sound like you can raise your cal up enough. you should never go below 1200. A lot of times when I am cooking for the family, I am making things I don't eat so I eat those smart ones by weight watchers and they are good and fill you up too. so good work there. I used to be a little debbie fanatic. haven' had one in years now. they are so good but when you read the amount of cal in one of those babies... whoa cost too many cal. Hi PJ   Your diet sounds pretty good actually except. You sound like you need to add about 2 fruits per day and another non fat  yogurt would be good also.For breakfast I eat oatmeal too but I always eat an orange with it. I eat a lean meat, starch, veg, fruit, and yogurt at both lunch and dinner. I also would advise eating 2 snacks per day. How many calories are you getting right now? I eat between 1300 and 1500 per day.linda

The number one thing besides prayer and Gods strength to help me stay on track is, excercise!!! Doctors told me that for years... but, I wouldn't believe them. Now I get up out of bed 5:45 every morning and get dressed and walk for 60 to 90 minutes. EVERYDAY! The next thing is counting calories, eating healthy food and occasionally a craving. I find if I don't deprive myself completely, I don't feel like I have to binge,and it is more realistic to stay with for the rest of my life!  linda

Hi fatdoc! Congrats on your weight loss accomplishment. horray for you!!! Please don't start think you'll gain it all back. Just remember what you've learned here and in your weight loss and you will get to your goal!! I have 20 pounds left and I started at 245. Seems I have been maintaining now for a while or at least losing very slowly. But I am determined to get to my goal if it takes me till Christmas!! Weight today 175, goal 155! linda

The Psalm you are looking for is Psalm 139. God knows us before we are born. Sally if this post is on the level please know that you will be accountable to God about your decision. God doesn't want us to shed innocent blood, expecially our own unborn young. Hey dieting and losing weight will be there when the baby is born. Breast feeding helps you to lose weight faster. Not to mention you do tend to stay busier taking care of a baby!!  God Bless,linda

Hi jhuntlo1, I was wondering, what are you eating? Calories, kinds of foods and all that? Cause even with excercise you should be losing something and keeping it off if your calories are in the right area and you are eating the right kind of foods. Just curious. Great on your workouts! I have found out that excercise is just as important as calories when losing weight. take care linda

Be encouraged tho, we have all been there, just starting out. But know you can do it and you will lose the weight. So what changes have you made in your eating and excercise, what are you statistics? Hi, Of course I would like to be the one on here saying I have 5 whole pounds to lose, I'm so fat. But  no matter how much any of us have to lose, we are all here to encourage each other. Most important thing tho is remembering we all need to lift up  one another to be healthy. Some people who "only" have to lose 5 pounds have horrible eating habits and maybe don't excercise and have an unhealthy attitude about weight and how they look. So this could be a first start in changing some of that. Eating healthy, excercising is a life long change I'm making in myself, and when I am at my goal I will still come here for the encouragement and support and I won't have any weight to lose at that time. I'm not mad at anyone, but lets just help one another. We are here for various reasons. linda

thank you for encourageing me that my walking is not toooo much!! If I don't go everyday, I am so afraid I will get lazy and start more days not going walking and fall into a bad pattern and then stop all together. Now I hadn't thought of the safety issue because I do walk outside on our road. It is a rural road not a street. I do wear my safety vest. But he has mentioned animals too. Maybe what I should do is ask him to fix my treadmill or buy another one. That would solve t he safety issue. Years ago I couldn't walk 1/2 a mile. I would be out of breath! So I am very happy to be walking so much. I also notice if I eat more than I should (bad linda) excercise kind of like makes up for it. Do you know what I mean? We can eat more when we escercise! it is great. thanks ya'll linda

Hi ya'll,  I walk every day. That is the only excercise I get right now.I am up at 6 am and walk on the road in front of my house for 3.5 miles and that takes me 1 hour. Then after supper in the evening, I walk another 2.5 miles for about 45 min. I go on a dirt road with hills and grass and such. Different kind of walk. While I walk, I mostly pray to the Lord, Gets my day off right. And just think about my day and what I have to do. It is really good for clearing your mind and start out on a positive note!!  I have lost 72.5 pounds. Only 17.5 left to goal!! Linda

Hi peace, Just had to respond to the most encouaging post. Thanks! I have finally after a lifetime of being "fat", (I'm 50), 20 pounds from my goal. I have lost 70 already over the course of the last 2@1/2 years. Not fast weight loss, but I want it to be permanent!! I found myself reading your post, agreeing to all the 8 ways of weight loss. It will be a big help to remember all these things during maintanence also. I may just have to print it out and keep it in sight!! Well thanks for the wonderful encouraging post. God Bless,linda

Hi ya'll, Great to see everyone doing so well. I am still at 175 and am not complaining. It beats gaining! Also I am on losing my last 20 pounds and I understand that this is probably going to be harder than the first 50!! Because of needed less calories to live on and my body getting used to the excercise routine I am on,... so I am still keeping on and staying focused thru this last 20 pounds!! I once thought this was an unattainable goal, but now i know, if I can do this, with  God's Help, anyone can change their lifestyle also. God Bless and see ya'll next week! linda

Hi ya'll, sorry I am a day late, but I did weigh yesterday morning.

april 13, last week: 175.5

april 20, this week: 176.0

Hi, I used to weigh twice a day, all thru my first fifty pounds I lost. Then I dropped it to just in the morning after I use the bathroom and do my morning 3.5 mile walk, and before I eat. At the same time every day. It is working good for me. Weighing every day for me works good because I stay aware of how much I weigh and if I stop weighing then overeating, I am afraid, will follow. I have to stay accountable. linda
