id have to agree with dalma and boots on this one. sometimes you just need to reconnect to spark the fire. other times, you need to let yourself get in the mood. when i'm not in the mood...i let my gf know. most of the time she'll attempt to put the moves on and i find that if i just drop the tension from my body and close my eyes...i'm much more in the mood than i originally thought haha. hope this helps! |

yay akela for feeling better! and hey, maybe you still needed a little rest so you don't wipe yourself out! i read all the posts and my goodness we can all TALK. congrats on all the hard work ladies, for those of you struggling...we're in it together and through that we'll persevere! the scale hadn't been moving for me...for the entire month. however, today i finally saw a small drop. 1.8lbs down :) it's not alot in 17 days but it's something and it's definitely not a gain! i'm hoping that some of my weight issue is due to muscle gain, but we'll see if the inches start coming off. 223.8...219 here i come! |

kathleen: i know how you feel. i have many of those "i cannot gain anymore weight" moments...to the point where i considered getting into an "accident" that broke my jaw so they'd HAVE to wire it shut and i'd HAVE to go on a liquid diet...they are not happy, or healthy, thoughts and in fact will just impede your progress. stress keeps the weight on us just as much as overeating does, so try to stay positive and move forward. everday is a day to start over if yesterday was a disaster. regretting the decisions you made in the past is useless, it's not like you can change them! so get positive and get going :) we're here to help! |

dalma: your vacay pix are beautiful :) you really do look wonderful i think you deserve to give yourself a HUGE pat on the back boots: good luck with this month :) if you stick to it, those veggies become part of your routine akela: sometimes we all just need a break. it's easier to come back full force sometimes when you've allowed yourself to destress about every little thing you eat! as for me...i was a fat kid yesterday...and am hoping that i don't gain any weight. i had a bagel, i had half a muffin, i had pocorn chicken, burgers and corndogs and tatertots (well i shared most of that) plus a chocolate malt that i had all to myself. yummm but baaaadddd. i'm trying to get back on track today. i went to the gym and i've eaten cereal, veggies, chicken and pasta nothing serious. like 1100 calories so far...i'll have to eat a little something extra. hope all is well! |

dalma: don't worry about short term. think about the long haul. one or two slip ups along the way will not stop you from reaching your goal. sooo i'm having an off day, but it's saturday and totally acceptable. egg white flatbread for bkfst, biiiig chef salad for lunch, and i'm going to have chicken tacos for dinner from chipotle plus ice cream for dinner. jess and i are having like a super hard time trying to figure out how to make more money and we're honestly considering moving in together, and moving to new orleans to stay with my mom for free...i'm not really sure what i want to do. i have a job here, i have a life here etc. but it would only be temporary...i guess i don't have to make a decision right this second so it's ok.

uhm so can i just tell you all how badly i am craving a freaking bagel! like a GOOD bagel. none of this thomas's bagel crap. a bagel from a bagel shop where they special in the especially delicious types of bagels. i have not, however, given in! i am still fiending...perhaps i will let myself slip and grab one this weekend...yum! today i've been very good with calories. in fact, i haven't even eaten 1000 yet. my appetite just isn't there today, which is the STRANGEST feeling. considering i'm one of those people who will eat even when they aren't hungry. so i guess i'm doing a decent job of training myself to eat only when hungry :) my weight's still up bcuz of ttotm, but i'm confident that as long as i maintain my 1400 calories or under that i will see a drop once the bloat has subsided. my water intake has been on the low side today, i've barely finished my 3rd 24oz bottle. tomorrow i'll try harder. i hope everyone is doing well and has fun stuff planned for the weekend! |

thanks for the warm welcome all! akela: good on ya for figuring out that garlic remedy! i love garlic...i eat at least 2 things everyday with some kind of garlic in it, it's kind of an obsession :) shapie: i KNOW i am so excited to think that i might actually be close to the 200 barrier by the time the wedding roles around!!! excitement! hope everyone is doing well. i'm a happy camper today because my girlfriend is coming home...she slept at her house last night (i hate those days). and because its an early day for me at work, 12-6 instead of my regular 3-10...ill actually get to have a life today haha. check in later! |

hope i'm not hopping in on this thread too late...but my name is Meghan. i'm 23...soon to be 24. i've been on calorie count off and on for 3 years. lost in total at one point 80lbs...then gained about 25lbs back. so i'm attempting to lose that 25lbs and another 30 or so. if my lowest weight was accurate...i currently weigh 222.8 pounds. i'm 5'10" and have a goal of 185lbs (i've got a pretty large frame). on october 24th i will be a bridesmaid...in a (gasp!) strapless, baby blue dress w/a white sash across my stomach...i have no time for failure now. the weight has to go. my birthday is august 20th and i've got a goal of 215 pounds by then...199 by the wedding and 185 by the new year. i am currently sticking to under 1400 calories 5-6 days a week and going to the gym 3-4 days a week. i drink a lot of water...a lot more than most people i know at least. the weight is coming off, i started the journey (again) at 239 in the beginning of april, so i've got a lot to be proud of. and i am, but i can't help but feel frustrated seeing the same numbers on the scale that i've seen so many times before. a little background on me...i started calorie count at 297 pounds...i lost a lot of weight at first...got stuck, got frustrated and got off track. i've basically been trying to lose the same 25lbs for over a year. the lowest weight i have ever seen is 212lbs. i'm currently 10lbs from that mark and i will damn well see 211 this time around. i honestly can't remember the last time that i was under 200lbs...i'm pretty sure it was in 8th grade. so, seeing 199 is (obviously) a really big goal of mine. i'm just looking to find motivation with a group of individuals who know what it's like to be young, female and...for lack of a better word, fat. i hope everyone is doing well...and that i can squeeze myself into the family. :) -Meg |

i too am back on the weight loss kick after many months yo-yoing up and down. having been about 32lbs from my goal...i'm now 48. i has 54 but i've managed to lose about 6lbs in the last ten days that i've been counting. it's a very frustrating cycle of fat, i must tell you. i'm currently in a very healthy, happy and food oriented relationship so, we both went on a diet. she's lost 5lbs :). it's just hard to continuously see the number on the scale that i had passed SO long ago. my present motivation is a wedding i have to be in come october. i'm hoping to be 48lbs thinner by then which means the next 7 months are going to be stressful. i keep kicking myself everyday for gaining back what i worked so hard to lose, but at least i've gotten myself back on track i guess. |

| you guys got this thing up and runnin' again just in time for me lol. i have just reassessed my goals and am getting myself back on track after being stuck in my weight loss and noticing that my eating habits were getting pretty ridiculous. so far so good. yesterday was a complete success. today is a somewhat success...no gym thanks to terrible stomach pains but i will keep on track with my food for the day. im trying to stay between 14-1500 calories which puts me at a 750-900 deficit which is perfect. keeping my water intake up up up and trying not to be so lazy. im working on dancing by myself in the kitchen on a regular basis lol. | |||

| every organ in your body uses up a certain number of calories a day just to function. if you deprive yourself of calories, you deprive your organs of the fuel they need to work and work properly. this can lead to heart problems, liver trouble...really any organ could ultimately be damaged. and yes, anorexics do lose weight. however, people DIE of anorexia without the proper treatment. without food, you're body cannot function. that's why anorexics and bulemics are hospitalized and pumped full of nutrients, fluids, and food. their bodies are so weak and frail that they cannot sustain proper functions like going to the bathroom, or having the energy to walk stairs unless they've used energizing pills. it's unsafe and unhealthy. if you're truly looking to lose weight, keep it off, and more importantly BE HEALTHY, than you really should consider upping your calories at least to 1200. it's not just because the forums say so, it's because it's a proven scientific fact that a lack of fuel in you body is damaging.
*my 2 cents* |

| well, i notice that this little post keeps slipping into page 2! so i am here to bring it back into the public's view haha. how is everyone doing with their new years resolutions? their healthier lifestyles? perhaps just in general. how are you? i think that it's amazing that it's already 2 and a half months into the new year...WOH. can't believe it!
ive been doing alright keeping my calories within range, but im looking to diversify my foods and lower my fats and up my protein. ive also been adding some things into my diet that are just unnecessary. i had a small serving of chips tonight and a 3 musketeers bar. ive stayed within my 1800 cals (i exercised today) but choices could be better. i did try a new apple today, a pink lady. it was interesting. id eat one again. i think ill stop into the store and pick up a new one some other day this week. anywho...updates requested :) |
