| Dove is right, everyone falls off of the wagon. I have always thought I had no will power and today I passed up cupcakes and a week ago I didn't buy a candy bar in the store. Yesterday I had to have a Reeses Peanut Butter cup. We all have our days. You can do it :) | |||

| Try to include your kids with your fitness routine. I know it seems hard but even a little walk with the little ones in the double stroller is a start. My kids love to go walking/hiking with me. Good luck! | |||

| I just started here the end of July so I still have a way to go but I LOST 10 POUNDS and I FEEL GREAT!!! I felt hungry the first couple of days but all of the support here really helped me through it. Reading the success stories is a true inspiration. I also had to share this site with someone at my work who was drinking her lunch :) She knew that I had started a new "lifestyle change" and wondered why I was able to eat cottage cheese and cantaloupe for lunch. This site has really changed my life in a few short weeks. Thanks! | |||

| Weight Loss | Headaches? | Aug 12 2006 06:14 (UTC) |

| They could be rebound headaches. I used to have headaches everyday so I would take Tylenol Sinus or Excedrin. I never overdosed, I only took the amount that it said on the bottle but sometimes it was so bad I would have to take the max dose in a day. I went to the doctor with a horrible headache and she told me that I was probably making it worse by taking Tylenol everday. Just a thought, something I would have never known. I also take allergy medicine daily and my headaches are much less frequent. | |||

| Good luck! I guess I don't look at this as a diet, I look at it as a lifestyle change. I wish I could make the fancy cakes. I have tried but it is a disaster :) Welcome. | |||

| I think that you have to be really careful with your niece. I struggle with my husband teaching my kids poor eating habits, he grew up in a house where breads and red meats were it for dinner. He wouldn't eat veggies or fruit. His whole family except him is thin but he doesn't want to change his habits. I used to say how bad it was for him to be feeding our kids the way he was fed growing up but now I just try to educate my kids. It seems to actually be working and I don't end up accidently hurting my hubbys feelings. My kids love fruits and vegetables and that is what they want seconds of first. My 8 year old the other night asked for a third hot dog. I let him know it was his choice but I told him how many calories were in a hot dog vs an apple and he chose the apple. It is an uphill battle but maybe you can get through to her and it would keep your family happier too. | |||

| I learned that it isn't what I eat, it is how much I eat. For me the key has been portion control. I like seconds, for some reason it makes me feel better to get a second helping of anything. I put less on my plate to begin with. I have learned that no matter how much weight I lose this I need to keep a record of what I eat to hold myself accountable. I lost 25 lbs from January to the end of March 2005, thought I knew it all and could had it under control. My 10 lb weight gain begs to differ. I have learned that I am full of excuses and I need to quit using them. I have also learned that this is much easier to do with the support of at least one other person. This web site is great and I have met a lot of great people who are really supportive. The more friends the better :) | |||

I know that I need to set a good example so hopefully they won't struggle like me and I also would like to get pregnant in the next 6-8 months :) If you don't mind, I will add you as a friend. | |||

| Haven't you heard about what happens after you turn 30? I keep hearing how it is so hard to lose weight after that, I am almost 30 and that scares me :) I agree with shakti that your body knows what it is doing. I would just give it a little time. Good luck. | |||

| Thanks for the laughs. I am at work on my lunch break and just thought I would see what was going on. I haven't personally tried a crazy diet other than not eat for a year but I did work with a lady who was on this crazy diet of bananas, hotdogs, and I think eggs. She would eat 5 bananas one day and nothing else, 5 hotdogs then next, 5 hardboiled eggs the next and I think a combination of the 3 foods the next, eat normal for 3 days, then start all over on Monday. I never understood that diet but she said her mom lost 50 lbs doing that. | |||

| candy and shaye- I am a little older than you guys, 29 but we are about the same height and weight. I am 5'9" and weighed 184 at my "official weigh in" Monday. I really need some friends to keep me motivated! As far as vidoes go, I like Walk Away the Pounds 1 mile. It can be done in 15 minutes. I also like a video called Quick Fix, you can choose from 9 different 10 minute work outs and do between 10, 20, or 30 minutes. They aren't kickboxing or dance but they seem to work. I hate doing videos though so I sort of cheat. I have picture in picture on my tv so after I am familiar with the video I have it on real small in the corner ;) otherwise I never can find the time to do them. I get too bored. | |||

| Isn't it funny to look back on your pics from when you were younger? I look back and wonder why I ever thought I was fat?! I was a size 12 and it always bothered me that I couldn't be like the other girls who were a "perfect size 6". I think though that I am more excepting of my body now, plus some of the girls grew hips after they had their babies :) I may start a mini album and just do a page here or there as I go. | |||

| According to my husband, I collect crap, candles and potpuri :) My hubby just doesn't understand good taste. I collect anything country, especially Americana and scrapbook things. I guess I also collect dogs I now have 4 big ones. | |||

| I know it isn't much but I love Walk Away the Pounds 1 mile walk when I am crunched for time. I can do a one mile walk in 15 minutes and if I have a lot of time I can do the 2 mile walk in 30 minutes. I work full time and have two boys so when I get home I spend time with them and my hubby. There is also a workout video called Quick Fix (I think). You can customize your workout. You can choose to do a 10, 20, or 30 minute workout. There are 9 different routines to choose from, 3 abs, 3 buns, and 3 arms/legs. I like it because, again it is quick. I know that I can't lose weight on 10 minutes a day alone but it is great when you are crunched for time. If I didn't get you the correct name for the video, let me know and I can look at it tomorrow. I don't use them much in the summer because I go on nightly walks with my boys. Good luck. | |||
| Fitness | Who's tried Curves? | Aug 02 2006 05:39 (UTC) |

| I am in the same boat you are, I had to join Curves or nothing. I know I would get better results with a gym but for me, it would be an extra couple hours out of my way to join one. I have never had any problems waiting for machines but I haven't seen the best results. I joined with my mom in November and neither one of us was a good motivator. We also joined in the Winter and boy do I love Christmas cookies :) so I am not certain if that was my problem or if it is the machines themselves. I have only been in 33 times since I joined. I would advise you to go in, try it and talk to the people there. I just joined CC last week and haven't had a chance to get to Curves but I am going tomorrow. Good luck and let me know what you decide. | |||

| I would like to be adopted too :) I am 5'9" and 184 and have been doing this for about a week now. According to this site my goal is 152ish. I don't really care about weight as much body image and clothing size. I am looking for motivation and help with some food choices. I brown bag my breakfast and lunch to work everyday. I am eating around 1200 calories per day right now but I am not sure that I am making the best choices in food (Starbucks bottled Frap, Mocha flavor every morning) I would love some other ideas besides my same old same old. It would also be nice to have someone to share this with it seems like all my friends and family are skinny! I am available periodically throughout the day depending on my workload and most evenings. Thanks. | |||

| Is it too late for me to join? I am 29, 5'9" and today weighed 183 lbs. My goal weigt according to the site is 152 but I just want to get into a size 12 again (if that is even possible). Too bad we didn't start last week, I have lost 7 lbs! Also, I can't get my pic to upload. Has anyone else had that problem. I have a Mac, well actually my hubby has a Mac (I call it a Macntrash :) cause I can't figure the stupid thing out) and I have tried two different browsers and it keeps saying there is no network connection but I created my profile today. | |||
