I commend you and hope that you would keep this baby. Fate has a strange way of working; and with the warmth, emotion and protection of this new little life you're already becoming a mom. Investigate health benefits and start eating right. there are otc pre-natal vitmains you can buy. tap into close family members for support. TELL the father right away. You never know what he's going to say.
start thinking for two. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | It's so hard losing this d**n pregnancy weight!!!! | Nov 03 2009 15:15 (UTC) |

I'm up for the group! I want to start trying for #2 but won't until I lose some of this weight. So hard to find time to work out since I work days a week with a commute plus of course; my time with Julia- so 15 months down the road my tummy's sorta flat but a pooch and this terrible looking skin. and, my ass is HUGE. gotta get moving. gotta stop eating crap; expecially while staring into space; so tired; so late at night. i'm sure the daily stress of it all isn't helping my middle.....stress + sugar + sedentary office = YUCK!!! When I got preggo w/ Julia I was 118. I went up to 180 pounds!!!!! When I came home I was at 160ish; now I'm around 140ish. I just need to lose 20 pounds by August so I can start TTC'ing. I don't want to do a fad diet either- atkins works but only for so long. That's how I got to 118 in the first place. but then eating normal plus being pregnant made me gain so much weight!!! |

i saw it. i saw a copy at home. ssshhhh......a freind of a freind of a freind from work's bootleg. picture it: husband away, stormy night, i'm alone; lights are out. and I'm watching that movie. i had my sheets up to my face for most of the movie; i could hear my heart pounding and i slept with the lights on. with that said...wait until the video comes out because I suspect that type of movie is best watched OUT of the theater and in the comfort of your scary home. |

i think the scariest thing about sleep paralysis is the fact that you feel like a FORCE in on your body; you can't move- and if you open your mouth to scream- NOTHING comes out but a whisper. I hated it. I was scared to go to sleep!!! |

I slept with the lights on for two nights after watching PA. Some people thought it was dumb; I watched it through half closed eyes and a sheet ready to be cast over my face. I watched it again the other night to see what I missed when I covered my eyes! I have experience odd things from time to time- but the one thing; that has been scientifically explained was: Sleep-Nightmare Paralysis. I suffered through that when i was having man trouble in my early 20"s. I'd wake up from horrible nightmares; not being able to move; always laying on my stomach; with the sensation of a man creeping up my back- very heavy and distinct crawling on 4's. No- i didn't have an animal. I know it wasn't a ghost per sae- but the mere nightmare terror followed by sleep fright paralysis with that sensation in the pitch dark of night at 4AM (same time every night) was very real and scary to me. Gave me insomnia for a while. Then I just grew out of it. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Working moms- how do you find the time to workout? | Oct 22 2009 16:23 (UTC) |

In all reality; I am just so tired by the end of the day to get a workout in. From being up at 6AM and having a 13-14 hour day with the commute; and my DH traveling so much- it's all me ALL the time. so for me; after I put Julia down to bed and going back to work for an hour- becuase- I have to leave on time every day- so I have to log back in to make sure they know I'm committed even though I now have a baby. I'm so tired; on auto-pilot; and I WILL get back to the gym; it's just very hard for any me time; and the me time I get I'd rather not be running on an elliptical like a hamster on a wheel. |

Original Post by fat2fit77: this is so me except for the fact that julia is 14 months now. i work a 12-13 hour day and then log back in after i put her down. i'm fat and ugly and i have no time to work out; unless; i bring my bb on the eliptical with me and that's just NOT a good idea. i could go on the weekends- but that's my julia time. i could go at night; but my husband doesn't get home until late. i wish i could buy an ellpitcal for my house; but that's a lot of $$. GRR!!!!!! ugly fat vanessa with beautiful daughter and still slim bank account.

I have an hour commute from Long Island to the City. It is an hour door to office each way. Plus; the 20 minutes it takes to drop her off and pick her up. It's very hard. I'm attached to my blackberry and laptop; and i really try to spend VERY quality intimate time with her when she's with me. i miss her desperately and think about her every minute of every day. as far as managing me; i do everything at night to get ready for the next day- and she's very good that she goes with the flow. It's the only thing she knows. |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | Curious - How does your baby sleep? | Oct 12 2009 18:25 (UTC) |

Julia went into her own room at 2 months. She slept a full night starting at 6 weeks. Now she is 14 months and sleeps from 8:30PM to 9AM ( on the weekends) or 8PM to 6:45AM (I wake her up). She sometimes wakes up at night- I usually let her stir and calm herself down. If it gets to a certain volume; I'll go in there and soothe her. She takes 1 nap a day now from 1PM-around 3/3:30PM. From the beginning I let her CIO, when she was past 6 weeks. I know this isn't a method that everyone supports; but for us it really worked. I see herself getting worked up and frustrated with something; but she can get over it pretty quickly. She's very calm and a happy baby. Sleep when they sleep. When Julia was first born; I breastfed her during the day and formula at night. After 3 weeks of age; I would feed her at 10PM; she'd wake up at 2AM for another bottle; then she would go back to sleep until around 7AM. We made sure to get her used to noise when she went into her room- so bathrooms; toliets flushing, phones ringing, tv- anything EXCEPT the vacuumm won't wake her up. I also got her used to falling asleep for her naps in a very bright and sunny room and then at night in a very dark room (w/ small outlet light). |

| Pregnancy & Parenting | toddler eating her veggies? | Oct 07 2009 17:20 (UTC) |

julia's still on whole milk at 14 months; when the doc tells me to switch, I will. as far as veggies- julia likes squash, peas, green beans, cauliflower w/ cheese, and broccoli. If she sees me eating it- she wants it. Which is great b/c that's keeping me healthy since i don't want to give her anything bad. sometimes i give her little bits of banana bread. she's a big fruit eater...so far so good. i felt underqualified since i saw the two lines on the six tests i took. the best thing i can tell you; is that you don't have to know everything; you just need to know the right SOURCES to consult when you have questions. it's a learning process. |

I'm leaning towards the Pebbles look (since that's what everyone calls her when her hair is up) or a ladybug; since that's what I call her sometimes :) But I LOVE the spider too! |

I'm thinking that her son may have grown up on the edge; so I'm asking if this person ever went into Therapy and Anger management? Ever been put on some type of Medication and stuck with a program? And, what consitutes "evil"? Or is he just mean and bullying? As for the family; if they are seriously "afraid of him" maybe he should be insitutionalized so that he can start a program? Or; is he the teenager that steals and yells at his family? Big difference between the two. Before he turned 18, he was a teenager; so if there was this type of behaviour; I'm wondering what efforts and measure were taken to help channel his anger. Or; was it ignored and hoping he would "Grow out of it?" |

I had a c-section and was out with her in the stroller in two weeks. Nothing more than that though. At six weeks I was back to the gym, and at 4 weeks....back in the sack. LOL!! All w/ doc's OK. But make sure you get clearance no matter what you want to do! |

it's my birthday on halloween. So I can honestly say, that Halloween is my favorite day of the year. I had great parties at my house!!!! We had a seance once when I turned 12 and conjured Elvis Presley's ghost into my basement. We asked for 2 knocks....and what do you know....there were two knocks inside my ceiling, and the candle flame spiked up so high - a bunch of 12 year old girls in costume screamed SO loud and we all ran upstairs like loons. 20 years later; I have not a clue if it was my dad making the knocking sound....but every time I go into my parents' basement....I get this feeling that Elvis is there with me. I love my life. |

Televsion..... Just let them BE, invest in some good financial planners; and be set for life. And for once......spend some time with your CHILDREN.....alone! As a family!! |
