| Weight Loss | Female, 5'10", 220 lbs. Looking to lose 70 lbs! Anyone with similar stats? | May 07 2008 17:13 (UTC) |

| I am 5'8", 226 lbs.
Start weight 262 in July 2006 went down to 224 in Dec 2006, went away for a while, went up to 241, started again end of February 2008 down to 226. Motivation and accountablility really are key. I weigh on Fridays. My pattern is 2 weeks no weight loss, 2 weeks good weight loss, and so on. I'd like to break this cycle, but can't figure out how. First goal 217 lb by end of June. |

| Well, I started this post and went away for a while... so needless to say, I haven't lost any weight since then. I still plan on losing some though. It has been over a year since I had the procedure and I still couldn't be happier.
The reduction works for those of us who have dense tissue that makes our size larger, not for those who have mostly fatty tissue and can reduce their size by losing weight. I had lost over 40 lbs and didn't shrink in size. I've gained about 13 lbs and haven't really grown either. If you do your research and have a good board certified plastic surgeon that does a large number of reductions every year, you should be satisfied. |

| *poof* Your wish is granted. You can now eliminate mosquitoes, but doing so you elimanate all their predators and their predators' predators, etc. Single-handedly you've eliminated a complete food chain.
I wish I was a famous inventor. |

| I had my reduction on December 16. I am so happy with everything that I could spit. Barely any pain involved. I was lucky and don't have a vertical scar because my PS did a 'no vertical incision' procedure. The twins are each 2lbs lighter and perky as the day is long. Of course, they are still swollen...
If you have ever had thoughts of this procedure, I tell you now that I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. A lift is almost the same as a reduction. If you have a lot of skin, you will probably have to have a reduction. It all depends. Insurance paid for my reduction. Here is a post I made on breasthealthonline: I will be 4 weeks OTR on Saturday and I feel great. All incisions are healing really well. I had one small open spot under right side, but it is almost all better. I don't really have much pain. Just uncomfortable sometimes. I really look forward to wearing no bra! I sleep on my side with a pillow and even on my tummy for short periods with my arm as a support. I can't wait to sleep sound all night long. That is something that still doesn't happen, but it is getting better. I haven't done much lifting, but I am going back to bowling next week. Doc says it's okay, but he's cleared me for just about everything, except a regular bra. I think he knows that our bodies tell us when we are ready to do things and when we are not. Shamrock and I have the same PS. I think he is very, very good. I read her post and she sounds like she is doing great! He told me scar creams don't really work since everyone heals different. He said use cocoa butter or.... um, I forget. *scratching head* After 3 weeks of DH doing the housework (or not doing as the case may be), I couldn't wait to dig in and get rid of some clutter and dirt. So today I did, all morning. I feel okay right now, the truth will be known at bed time. *sigh* I still get tired from doing things, but then I just take a little nap. So for all considering that haven't made it to this point, I hope my post helps. I would do all over again if I had to. -- 12/16/06 OTR... 40DDD to 38C, yippee!! |

| I don't usually binge, but tonight I think I did: about 1/4 c leftover cukes w/vinegar, reduced-cal pudding snack, 4 mini cheese pretzels and a mini apple struesel, and I was still looking for more, but came to here instead. | |||

| I need to be in on this. I am 5'9" 227lbs. I lost 40lbs then quit counting calories in October. Since today is my first day counting calories again I don't have anything to report. I had a breast reduction 4 weeks ago and can't exercise yet, but I really want to get back on track to get to my goal weight. It amazes me how easy it is to fall back into old habits and patterns without trying, but getting back to a newly developed habit is quite difficult. Keep up the good work, we can do this! I want to look decent in a swimsuit this summer!! |

I'll keep you posted :) |

| It is definitely hard to get over feeling guilty when eating something that is not the healthiest choice there is. With time, I am learning to have the same thought process as Beanie and Auntiejill. Sometimes it is much harder than others, but I find if I eat in moderation and savor the flavor, I don't overdo it. | |||

| Laurielane~thanks for the info. I don't have that much weight to lose, but it is good to know. I mean what's the point of getting it done only to have them sag? I am working hard to lose the weight first ;)
Next Wednesday is my first consultation with a plastic surgeon. I am excited, but very nervous... |
