Hi everyone! I'm in! Hope your NYE was great!!!

I'm so happy for this forum - I've just committed myself to no binging anymore which means abstaining completely from all my favourite binge foods (cake, cookies, chocolate, crackers, bread, chips, and hte list goes on...) however, I am discovering more healthier options, so this is not restriction - its actually a good thing... guess what I actually LIKE apples sprinkled with cinamon, and stir fried vegies with a great sauce over is yum.... :)

anyway, here are the statistics:

Health & Support Tips to avoid overeating? Sep 08 2008

Exactly the same issue as you! Unfortunately, my binging lasted for 8 years!!

Basically, I was anorexic when I was 14... then I wanted to start eating bc I was iron deficient, I didn't have my period for a year and a half, etc. I started eating and then couldn't stop!!!!!

So basically, if there is any advice that you should listen to is this:

Now it's hard, bc you're craving.. but I would suggest getting a blood test and seeing if you are also lacking vitamins/iron etc, and start taking those tablets... this will help cravings somewhat.

Drink lots of water. Water fastens your metabolism, makes you feel full, flushes out toxins, etc, etc....

Eat 6 meals a day. Brekfast, snack, Lunch, snack, dinner, snack.

If you're in college I'm sure they have cereal milk, some breads, fruit, protein for dinner. Choose healthy.

Don't eat foods you will crave!!! Or eat small amounts, then have a drink of water to change the taste.

If you're craving drink coffee, tea, diet lollies, chew gum. Ask yourself are you hungry or is it a deficiency???

Last of all and most important: Listen to your body!!! What happened to me is i started eating, like you, up to 3000-4000 cals a day... Then I started getting worried bc the scales went up. So, I started purging instead... WORST thing you can do.. believe me!!! You will put on weight, but eventually your body will reach a status quo and then if you are eating correct, you will LOSE weight!!! Your body just needs to adjust...

really, I'm serious... don't worry about the binging... you won't need to when your body realises you are NOT starving it, and it will want to eat healthy if you give it a chance!!

Hi everyone!! Basically I've been bulimic for the past 8 years, now I'm 22 and finally decided enough throwing up .... gross!!! So the first month I put on weight and was thinking I was going to be a huge balloon....and then guess what??? I suddenly started feeling FULL!! I've never felt full before... and I don't even feel like I want to binge... I've been such an ass!!! SO from binging/throwing up up to 6 times a day... now : NOTHING!!!!!

So anyone who is bulimic, really, trust your body!!! It really knows much more then you think it does....

A bit off track... but its exciting to be able to say what I ate today, because no binging!!! YAY!!
