Hey Ladies!

Karen: You worked at the Rose Bowl? That sounds fun! What did you do?

Karey: Your new "toy" sounds interesting I've heard of the body bugg but not the GoWear Fit you'll have to tell us how you like it!

Me: Ugh not my best food weekend. I had a ton of fun but didn't even try to watch what I ate. Went to a baseball game on Friday with a bunch of friends and a bbq on saturday. Both were super fun involved a lot of beer drinking and junk food. So my weight is up like 2 1/2lbs this morning but I'm going to take it easy this week and get in some good workouts and avoid the junk food. I felt myself start to lose control with the sweets too.  It's so easy to lose control isn't it??

Hey Ladies!

I'm in such a good mood this morning I'm at a new lower number I haven't seen in a long time! Did ya'll hear about the craziness with the DC metro crash? Thank goodness I don't work in that area of the city and neither do any of my friends or family. Scary though!

Gina/Karey: Have you tried PB2? I've heard about it but never tried it kind of weirds me out that its like powder. I've heard its good in baking or smoothies or to add to things for a PB taste.

Mandy: Use some aloe! For some reason this summer I've totally been paranoid to be out in the sun.  I grew up in Florida and used to layout by the pools up here in DC but for some reason this year I'm paranoid about skin cancer. I guess i read to many articles in Self and Shape and stuff haha.

Karen: I'm so jealous you have a handy brother and dad you are so lucky!

Me: I have a ridic amount of work to do this week at work yuck. My bff from college is coming up to hang out for the weekend though so I think I see a girls night in my future for the weekend, something to look forward to. So question for you guys if you go out with friends do you include the alcohol calories in your limits and adjust to fit them? Or do you just let it go and get back on track the next day. I'm always torn about that one because it adds a lot of cals but i want to enjoy myself and not be obssessive and it's not like i'm in college anymore and go out everynight. I'm old now and only can handle 1 night a week haha.

hey girls!

Karey: oh PB and Co how amazingly good that stuff is. I can't buy it or PB at all because the same thing happens to me i have a bad day and then cant keep the spoon out of the jar. i hope one day i get to the point where i can control myself around it! Oh and i love vitatops, and the brownies. they sell them in the freezer sections of grocery stores which you wouldnt expect if ya'll are looking for them.

Gina: Feel better! Sorry to hear about your boy drama! I know I used to hate hearing this but you'll find the right guy. I went on a boy diet after ending a long on and off relationship with a guy who wasnt good for me and ended up randomly meeting my bf in the elevator of my building a month later and we've been together for 2 years and he treats me like a queen. the right guy is out there just be patient :) so many girls i know settle for a guy and i just think that is the worst thing possible so it sounds like this was the best thing for you.

Sarah: Good luck with the 100 miles. That will give you some motivation to workout at least!

Mandy: Thats great that you found a trainer that gives you just enough push to get motivated and not discouraged. that is hard to find!

Me: I've had a pretty good week my weight is back down and i'm recovered from the flu so i feel pretty good. I think im going with the bf to see tha Hangover tonight, anyone seen it yet? then a friends bday party tomorrow night so i'm sure there will be too much drinking on sat. But it will be a fun night! it's a tennis themed party at this new bar in DC that has a country club theme and put put and stuff. can't wait! i'll make sure to pound some water and workout both days to prepare and recover from the festivities! hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

Hey Ladies!

Karen: Sorry to hear about your grandmother! That is great that you took the time to see her though and it all worked out with your schedule.

Karey: Florida summers are brutal I grew up in south Florida (Boca Raton) so I feel your pain. Good for your having a balanced weekend!

As for me well I'm feeling a bit discouraged I weigh the exact same as I did when I got back to calorie count in april. I know how to lose weight and what i need to do i wish I could get snap out of it and think before I eat instead of giving in to every craving and such. The bf and I are planning a vacation to Jamaica so I'm hoping that having to get into a bathing suit will help motivate me to get back in gear. So frustrating though!

Girls thanks for the welcome and tips. I always like to see what other people are doing. My roomie just started the P90 workouts this week I told her I might try it with her one of these days.

Sarah: I feel your pain! I have been back to calorie counting for 1.5 months and have gone up and down but overall Im at the same weight I started. I know exactly why like you said the self sabatoge. Dieting for me is such a mind game its getting that under control i know what i need to do.

Karey: Yes I've been on the 130/140 forum I thought you looked familiar! I haven't commented too much on there though it seems to have died down. Ive seen commercials for the Wii EA Sports Active and was intrigued I might have to buy that one!

As for me I noticed I'm back down a pound TTOM is coming so i know that is going to make my weight be all screwy. The bf is going to be out of town this weekend and so are a lot of my girlfriends so i should have no excuses not to have a healthy weekend at least. Weekends are the worst for me!

Hey Girls!

Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself you seem like a fun group and I def need some motivation! I tend to do well for like 2 weeks start losing then all of a sudden i'm back to my bad habits its so frustrating! I really don't mind working out for me the problem is snacking especially at night and binging. I want to lose about 20lbs. Not by a certain time or for a certain event just to feel better! I'm just getting over the flu and am itching to get back to the gym. I might try to go tonight and take it easy.

Do you girls have any tips that have worked for your?

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Sigh I'm sad to say that I'm back and higher then the last time I was here. I have gone up and down a lot in the past year and then took a dieting break for a few months and just maintained where I'm at. Sadly I'm at 148, it is so disappointing but what is done is done and now I'm trying to get back some control and do things right. I'm trying to not go to far above 1400 cals and am trying to get in some consistant workouts. So we shall see.

I see that there are a lot of new people on here since I was last on and then of course Cassy and Sherry are still here so it's nice to see some familiar people!

Joan: I'm feeling the same way, I just saw your journal. We have to get our self control back!

I had a not so good food weekend or really workout weekend either. But I'm back to it today. I guess thats about all we can do get over it and try again. So we shall see.

Hope everyone had a little time to relax over the weekend. I'm so sad summer is over! I didn't get to the pool nearly enough!

Hello Dears,

So I have really abandoned this forum lately but I could use some of your advice. I wrote about this in my journal today too but I feel like I have hit my dieting wall. I just have that I don't care attitude about what I eat and I can't seem to shake it. I've been working out a lot 5 to 6 days a week. So I feel better now that I'm working out but now I just need to conquer the eating. So any advice on how to get over the i don't care attitude and eating whatever, and hitting the dieting wall?

hholly: feeling sore always makes me feel good in some weird way unless its really bad of course

cassy: aww 1st day of kindergarten, those were the days! thats great on the extra walking

sherry: i'm with you. its funny how hard it is to focus on yourself. as a mom and wife i can imagine that is way harder.

Good Morning Dears,

I have been very MIA things have been totally nuts with tons of stuff going on and working long hours. I've been posting in my journal everyday. Once things calm down a bit (soon hopefully). I'll be back to my postings on here.

I've gone up to 140 in the last few weeks and right now just trying to handle the stress and not binging on cookies and stuff.  so i'm  sticking with 1500 cals a day and excercise until things settle down.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Ladies!

Not a good food weekend. My mom was in town and we spent the weekend with the fam and just ate out a lot, ate a lot of rich food, and of course too much. On top of that ttom starts this week so i'm bloated. Feeling like a fatty mcfatty today so won't be weighing myself this week because I know if I do I'm going to get discouraged. So back to the grind today eating healthier, and smaller portions and working out.

coopeju: I'm in your same boat i'm around 138 (139ish) and was a lot lower a few months ago with the same ideal weight. good luck with the new gym! Stress eating is def my problem and I have been stressed the last month which is why i really packed the pounds back on that i worked so hard to lose.

Hey!

Still pretty quiet on here everyone's been busy! My mom was in town this weekend so we spent the whole weekend with the whole family (aunts, grandfather, cousins, babies) so good times, exhausting though. My cousins have 2 babies (2 yr old, and a 5month old) holy cow they are a handful i have so much respect for all the mamma's because i don't know how they do it. Anyways I was awful with food this weekend, like seriously awful. I kind of feel like a little fatty today. Doesn't help that ttom starts this week so i'm bloated. But alas its a new week and i'll just make sure i'm on track for the rest of the week.

Hello Ladies!

Finally saw the sex and the city movie last night! very cute but i thought the whole jennifer hudson scenerio was kind of out of place doesnt fit in with the movie. anyways my mom comes in to town tonight so i have to run home and work out and clean! I'm getting bored with my gym workout lately i need to spice it up. Its been way to hot to go running here though!

hhbroadbent: i've been curious about the carmen dvd. ive always been curious to take one of the strip aerobics classes at some gyms. my friends and i are waiting for someone to have a bachelorette party to do it!

simignoone: my bf gave me a weight/strength routine to do about a month or 2 ago and it has lunges/squats wow did i feel it the first week. I have no butt so i feel like its helping me get one haha.

burnyn: hope you feel better. i have days where i'm extra hungry for some reason too. doesn't sound like you did that bad. its not like you ate a box of cookies or something so don't worry you'll be back on track today!

Hey Everyone!

I am not new to CC but have used it on and off for weight loss. much like a lot of you (i scanned through other posts) I've struggled with my weight and dieted forever. I'm 25 5'5 and 138 so just barely in this group haha. I have been really up and down since Jan. I went from 140 high down to 134 low and have been a stready 138 lately. My ideal goal is 125, my mini goal (not so mini really) is 130. I try to eat between 1200 and 1300 calories a day. I'm trying to learn my hunger cues and not just eat for the hell of it or because it tastes good so thats challenging. Anyways that about sums it up!

PS i know my weight is a lot higher then most of ya'll but hope you don't mind if I join the group!

Good Morning Ladies,

 

Its been quiet on here seems like everyone is having a busy week! I've been really busy myself lately and spent most of the weekend recovering and running errands. I went to bed early both nights which never happens and was sooo nice.

I haven't been working out in the mornings in the last few weeks and I feel so much more tired I think it really woke me up and got my blood flowing. I keep snoozing my alarm lately though when i try to wake up to workout haha. I have to make myself get back in the routine I guess. I have been able to get some afternoon workouts everyday this week so far though. I'm soooo bloated today though so it was dumb to weigh myself because i was up a pound. For some reason I get bloated a whole week and a half before ttom. its the worst!

cassy: sounds like you had a fun weekend! you are so impressive with the running and these races. good for you! I'm in such a running mood today its supposed to be cooler today so maybe I'll be able to go for a run this afternoon!

Hello Hello!

Finally got my butt to the gym yesterday after almost 2 weeks off (eek!). Planning on going running today after the sun starts to go down because it is HOT here today. Its like the dead of summer came all of a sudden. Eating has been relatively good this week. I've tried to keep it balanced and somewhere in my calorie limit range. 

Vickie: glad you dropped a bit today, see don't get too discouraged the weight will come back off. (i should really follow my own advice sometimes! haha)

sherry: haha yea avoiding tacos before excercising is key! good job on the 3 miles though. we all have really picked up on our outdoor excercising!

cassy: hope you get your workout in tonight!

stacey: so all this riding to work talk has made me kind of want to get a bike haha. Im moving in july to about a mile away from where i live now which is not as walkable to everything as my old place so now i want a bike to take to get around like to go to the grocery store. i think i want something like one of those beach cruisers, i saw a picture of kate hudson on one in people and ever since decided thats what i want. i just dont want to spend a lot of money on one in case it gets stolen or something!

Good morning!

138 this morning. Which is ok. I tried to go for another 3 mile run yesterday and about half a mile out it started to down pour and wind was nuts, it came out of nowhere! So i came back and tried the tredmill but only did another .5 miles, I'm not a fan of the tredmill. So i switched to the eliptical and did another 20 minutes. Did ok with food. Not great but ok.

I've been playing with oatmeal combinations to switch things up and this morning i had a very yummy combo, plain oats, honey, and some trader joe's nuts over rasberries trail mix. so good! really hit the spot. I also went to bed early last night I was exhausted for some reason so i feel super refreshed today.

congrats aunt stacey :)! have fun on your vacation!

joan: i have that problem with protein bars or any of those similar bars! its like a dessert to me! good attitude though you'll fix that gain! you reminded me about grey's I almost forgot about it! drive safe!

sherry: yay for the 3 miles walk and for self control with the french fries! have fun on the field trip!

cassey: taco pizza sounds yummy, so do the brownie cookies haha. good luck getting everything together for the garage sale.

Good Morning!

I have a question for ya'll. Do you guys base your calories for the day on your net calories? For example lets say I consumed 1500 calories and burned 300 working out for a net of 1200. Or just on what you consume? I know you should always get at least 1200 or more calories a day. But what if you work out then should you just make sure you get at least 1200 net? I hope that makes sense. I was reading some articles and stuff and just wondering what everyone is doing.

Anyways as i wrote in my journal the stress i've had lately is leading me to binge on sweets. But it also is leading me to do more cardio to burn off some of the frustration. So not healthy but I evened out and was actually down a pound this morning. Got rid of the sweets in my apartment though so problem has been eliminated.

soraya: thats funny whats with everyone being on ttom at the same time haha

stacey: good job on getting your workouts in! whoohoo for 3 days until vacation!

Hey Everyone!

I had one of the ttom attacks this weekend as well. oh well all we can do is focus for the rest of the week! I went to my college roommate's graduation saturday from physical therapy school very long day of ceremonies, lots of eating and drinking and afterparties. Good time but not healthy. I then proceeded to get home on sunday and pass out for 3 hours in the afternoon oops! I got up and worked out this morning though and will make a huge effort to be healthy this week since i'm going to the beach with 5 of my girlfriends for the weekend, can't wait!

Cassy: you did amazing! good for you!

sherry: sounds like a productive weekend! i also will not be weighing myself this week!

stacey: its hard to relax on the numbers but you are doing baby steps at least you arent weighing yourself all the time anymore!

Good Morning!

Hope all the mamma's had a nice mother's day :). It's a gloomy gloomy Monday here today, thats the worst it should be illegal to have to get out of bed when its cold and rainy on a monday haha. Got all my workouts in this weekend and this morning. Did pretty good on food, drank a little too much on Saturday night again, per usual. 3 people told me i looked skinnier this weekend though so that was encouraging!

soraya: I always have 1 night a week lately when I drink to much when I'm out with friends. I feel like everyone gets more social soon as it starts to get warm out so we go out more. Thursday was a work function so I always watch what I drink. Plus the CEO and all the big shots were there, I always try to avoid the possibility of being "that" person at office functions haha.

sherry: thats so funny about your friend, I wish I could give up sweets but that will never happen. i actually feel bad for people who are allergic to chocolate haha. luckly i was never a big pork fan so not a huge loss more of a pain.

cassy: i'm so glad to hear you were able to run pain free!

joan: glad to hear you found a gym to join. hope getting back into your old routine helps out your back!

stacey: thats good to hear about the bf wanting to be healthy that should help you stay on track too!

Happy Friday!

So ended up not getting home from the work event until around 9 so I didnt get a chance to go to the gym but i only snacked on a few carrot sticks and sipped half a glass of wine so I did well. We just have so much food in the office this week I hate it, being bored and having access to pastries is bad. Anyways I think i'm going to try to making it to spinning tonight and do my weight routine. Then go to the movies with the bf, hes dragging me to iron man. So not my type of movie but I heard it got good reviews so I'll give it a chance :)

stacey: boo for them not having your bank!

cassey: good luck with the running this weekend I hope the leg doesnt bother you too much!

soraya: i've been trying to stick to wine when i go out since out of the alcohol choices its the better one of them i guess.

joan: i'm going to use your suggestion with the seltzer this saturday when i go out with my girl friends. i really dont have any desire to drink really. just a sip here and there of wine at the most.
